  • One of the most photographed and scenic stretches of line in the UK is the sea wall located between Dawlish Warren and Teignmouth, along the south coast of Devon. The sea wall which was built in 1846 by Isambard Kingdom Brunel carries the main line between Exeter and Newton Abbot, services ranging from communter services to high speed express services from London, the Midlands, far north and Cornwall. Ironically the location is just down the road from were I live! The scene was a common place for me to go to during my childhood years.
This famous stretch of route has been known to be one of the most expensive to maintain in the country, as the sea regularly batters and corrodes the wall carrying the vital rail link which can be seen in this film.
This film looks into detail of the sea wall and regular every day services that run across it, with a couple of freight services that were filmed in September 2008.
