- I join the (CCFMS) for a day of collecting crystals at a local Niagara Falls area limestone quarry. Over the years I have found good specimens of Fluorite, Galena, Sphalerite, Gypsum and Celestine at this quarry, it's always a good time with good people.
Collect, rock hound, explore, dig and hike at your own risk
great video thanks for sharing, thats my dream location wish i had access to that place back when i was still able to rockhound
Another interesting video, those fluorite’s looks amazing.
Very common and typical suite of minerals in limestone / dolomite strata .
Those sphalerites and fluorites were gorgeous .
It's a nice quarry, but it's hit or miss at this site. Sometimes nice stuff is found, most trips just fun smashing some rocks.
Was looking for you came across a large pocket of crystal clear selenite. Can’t believe how clear it is. Wish I could load a picture.
I am amazed at how fast the specimens from this quarry tor from baby blue to clear once they get exposed to the sunlight. I was cleaning a chunk outside a few days ago and it's already changing to clear.
