She isn't more popular because intuitive ppl can see thru redundancy and bad advice. This is not good career advice she's giving. She's just stating the obvious, peddling Amazon products and talking out of the side of her neck. I took her advice, and it did not work for me. I'm going back to my old way of doing things. People who know what they are talking about become solid in the community and popular. When you don't know what you are talking about or something doesn't work, you remain unpopular.

Just to add on the parking situation, scout the area if possible. We don’t realize that there are areas of our towns that we rarely go to & are unfamiliar with. I moved to OKC almost 5 years ago & went downtown for the 4th time just the other day. I’ve never had business there, so I had no reason to go.
And make sure your printer has plenty of ink & is functioning properly. I rarely use mine, the ink dried on the nozzles & gave me bad printouts. Luckily I had time to stop at FedEx, but you just never know.

I have an interview next week and my question is regarding my resume. It is 2 pages (I have 34 years of experience and there's no way to fit it on 1 page). I have read that I should not staple the pages. What are your feelings on that? Should I paper clip them? Just leave them separate? If they're separate I know my name should be on top of the second page. Thanks in advance for your advice.

    1. Taking a print-out email is unnecessary. They will give you the information, it is on your phone email, you can locate it on Google maps, and you can just do a dry run the day before. Dry runs are your best bet, so you will know exactly where to go in case you are stuck in traffic.
    2. Nope!! Bringing copies of your resume is out dated redundancy. Once you apply online, the interviewer will have already printed it from your online application by the time you get there. They won't even ask for a resume.
    3. She's being paid by Amazon. You can get the same thing at Walmart for half the price.
    4. 3:55 Here she is talking to you like you are a kid. Everyone knows to bring a pen, and if you don't the interviewer has a million of them. Every HR department has millions of pens, even if you forget one. Notebooks are not necessary. Taking notes while they are interviewing you makes them nervous because they don't know what you are writing. Also, you run the risk of them thinking you have memory issues and can't remember where you worked that's why you are referring to a notebook. I wouldn't do it.
    5. I've never heard of car chargers breaking or not working. Weird. Very weird. Anything that you can charge in a car, you should be able to charge at home the night before. I've had old cars that the engine was burning oil and smoking and the charger still worked great.
    6. Breath mints, combs, brushes goes without saying. Even a 10 year old would know that.
    7. Bottle water is another thing that goes without saying. Even if you forget your water, the building you are headed to is not from the Stone Age. They will have plenty of fancy water fountains for you to fill your jug with.
    8. 7:37 Of Course a banana will calm you down because it tastes good and loaded with sugar. Anything that's good on the taste buds will calm your nerves.
    9. Again 8:04, if you do a dry run first, you will already know this information, and sometimes the interviewer will give you a voucher anyway for paid parking.
    10. Lastly, I took her advice and it cost me a job. She is just stating the obvious. I'm going to be careful with misinformation on the internet, and I think you should too. This advice on this video is something you will already do, nothing new here. Be cautious.

You mean CVs not resumes. CURRICULUM VITAE which is Latin.

Hi Alana, I'm guessing you aren't in America. Here we call them resumes. But thank you for coming on my videos and correcting or criticizing every video you've watched. You're clearly a very bright human and I'm sure these wonderful critiquing skills are going to take you very far in your job search.

@@CassThompsonConsulting What a lovely person you are Cass :) Professional and polite even to the most unpleasant people. Lovely to watch you from Australia and understand everything you ever say, despite the very obvious and minor cultural, language and terminology differences ;)

It's YOU, not WE. It's not like you have access to her demographics. Plus I'm pretty sure she is based in U.S. What a useless comment.

As an over-thinker, I am already 10 steps ahead of you. This is a great video to make sure for the 100th time that I have everything I need. I have an interview tomorrow at a small business in my town so it should be pretty chill. Better over prepared than not at all 🫠
