I’ve been a fan since the early 70s. Was a teenaged fan who relentlessly followed their career. I was able to meet them during tours - and they were always so gracious. I am so happy they reached stardom ... realized their dreams. And yet they stayed so ... human... driven and approachable throughout their careers. I will love their music forever - and they deserve every award and honor they received. Thank you for this lovely post.

I always thought Barry was so good looking but as they got older I thought Maurice became very good looking and sexy, a sharp dressed man and loved the hats he wore and loved how funny he was. Will always miss him and Robin ❤❤😘

It was so heartbreaking hearing Barry say that he didn't want to go on as the Bee Gees after Mo died and he didn't want the world to see The Bee Gees without all three of them, but nice that he and Robin finally decided that it was time to come back together as the Bee Gees, even though it wouldn't last long because of Robin's unforeseen death just two years later. It's so sad that Barry, then, had to and still has to continue on without any of his brothers, especially knowing that he's the oldest and the only remaining brother.
I thought I had watched every video, interview, etc of the Bee Gees. Once or twice a week, I find another one. This clip is making me get teary-eyes. I will never understand why Robin did not share the news about his illness with Barry. I guess we have our reasons, and make personal decisions about what to tell our family and friends.
I can remember Robin describing Barry saying, he was a soft gentle soul, so perhaps after the shock of Andy, then the massive shock of Maurice Robin just didn't want him worrying about him, when Mo died there was a lot of anquish anger and sorrow it nearly broke Robin to be there without his other half (Twin) 😢 I'd like to think Robin was trying to shield Barry in someway from his slow, progressive cancer.

Thank you very much for this uploading. You managed to capture the look that Robin gave to Barry. Love and admiration, he was obviously happy to be with big brother once again. Not long before Robin passed. So very sad.
These two had their moments of conflict like all siblings do, but you can see that they loved each other. And yes, Robin looked really happy to be with Barry here, didn’t he?
1:19 I can't help but notice that Robin was in pain while singing and still hadn't told Barry and his family about his condition... 😢 rip Robin, Moby& Andy
Surely Barry could see something was drastically wrong. Even if he asked and Robin said he was fine, Barry must have known it wasn't true. If this is just before the cancer then what made him just so ill. It just breaks my heart seeing him so thin and clearly sick for so many years before.
@@estherb822 - I never believed the story about the photo no matter how often he tells it. A blind person could see how ill Robin was. Who takes a photo to his own doctor to ask about a brother across the Atlantic? Pick up the phone. Also, both their mother and older sister Leslie knew about Robin at least a year before and RJ said he phoned his uncle Barry long before to tell him.
@@lindam.6782 He did eventually take the scans and his doctors threw every treatment they could at him, at his request as he so badly wanted to live. He had chemo and then went straight to the studios to work on the Titanic Requiem. He was a tough character to deal with it the way he did but was determined to get as much out of life as he could squeeze. What a cruel world this is !
Thank you for sharing. Shame that in the end Barry and Robin never did work it out and actually make new music. The absence of the man in the middle (Mo) was just too evident and they just clashed.
@@gloriamaryhaywood2217 - Robin knew he was ill and was desperate to use every moment he had left. A blind man could see Robin was VERY ill. I never believed the story about the photo especially since Robin's mother and sister knew a year before and RJ said he phoned and told Barry.
@@susieq9801 Nope. Guess it's convenient for Barry to spin the story that he didn't know. (Okay, sure Barry.) You are correct, Suzie. A BLIND man could SEE that Robin was VERY ill. Of course Barry KNEW. He just didn't want to look so cold and calculating. Well, he's getting old now. Maybe he'll eventually make peace with his feelings towards Robin, but I kind of doubt it. Coz Barry has been nursing those old wounds for sooo long now. But it's all just muddy water under an old bridge now.......
@@gloriamaryhaywood2217 - It was BS. Of course it makes him look good. I'm getting so sick of "wonderful Barry ", so loving. Why didn't he love his brothers when they were alive? He still wants the spotlight reworking all of their songs as if he was the Bee Gees alone getting all the control and adulation with a rare obligatory mention of R & M. Always pushed aside. Robin cowrote "Woman in Love" for Streisand and "Islands in the Stream" for Rogers and others but was always pushed aside even when they wanted his input. Oh, how he misses them now. Sure! Who takes a photo to a doctor in the US to ask a diagnosis on a brother in the UK? It's obvious in this video that Robin was not only ill but in pain holding his side when he sang and a shadow of himself. I have been reading their VERY long bio "Tales of the Brothers Gibb" and lots of interesting things come out, Andy shoved into the public before he was ready, Robin's inferiority complex (he said he knew he was "ugly" and cried because girls didn't like him as much). One funny bit was their mother joked Hugh never gave her flowers. She saw four scrawny legs coming down the street hidden by a huge wreath that said RIP! Guess who? Wonder where they got that! The rule by the family was like the royal family. Step out of the pecking order and you're punished. Guess who stepped out of line and stood up for himself. Even Molly comes across, as far as I've read, as strong and protective against them. Even wives were expected to be submissive to the Royal Gibbs and live virtually in a sort of "commune". Molly refused and so did Robin. She stood up for him against the family. Oh, to be a fly on the wall! She finally gave up because she never saw him for months on end. Rob did go off the deep end, devastated after being asked for a divorce. Although they did have a common goal and brotherly affection, they were a business and treated like puppets. Only one had the nerve to rebel even a little. Sad.
@@susieq9801 Yes, I've read Tales of the Brothers Gibb. Well, parts of it. But can't go by everything you read. For instance, I doubt seriously that Robin cried about girls not liking him. Hmmm? Coz for all his vulnerabilities, Robin was actually a verrry tough little cookie!!! And I say that with great admiration. Yes, I'm sure that Robin was aware of his looks being picked apart in the magazine's of the day, and that must have been a hard pill to swallow considering Robin was still a kid really, and with Barry also being gushed over at the same time. BUT Robin wasn't one to wear his heart on his sleeve. He kept his emotions intact and to himself for the most part. And yes, it seems that Robins divorce was very hard on him, especially being separated from his children. Makes my heart *clinch* for Robin. But there were some serious issues going on with Robin at that time. I'll just leave it at that. So glad he eventually was reunited with his kids. I am a HUGE Robin fan. His Voice is SO Gorgeous and so Moving to me. And I also am drawn to so many personality traits of Robin. He was the most interesting and unpredictable of the Brothers to me. And yes, he had a vulnerable quality about him that touches my heart. Even though Yup, he was also one tough and determined little cookie!!😉😎
I think Barry’s instinct after Maurice’s death was correct. No matter what his reasons were. “The Bee Gee’s” is and can only ever be all three of them. Each one of them brought their own special magic to the whole of it. Maurice may not have shined as brightly at times, but after he got sober and stayed sober, you could feel his musical influence unmistakably. Then there were three brothers firing on all cylinders 100% of the time and the difference was palpable in my opinion. In their music and the performing. There would always be a hole without Mo. And everyone would feel it. Nope, no literal “Bee Gees” without him too.
Think after Robin's Magnet album was released 2 wks after Mo's death, with Andy's altered song on it that Barry & Mo knew nothing about, that was the deciding factor for Barry to just end it once Mo died. Robin betrayed the group & Andy's song by remixing & recording it, removing parts that were added for Andy (carousels at the beginning because Andy loved carousels). Barry referred to it as "a sacred object", telling the NYT shortly after Mo's death that he was devastated by what Robin had done. That's why Barry wouldn't work with or perform with Robin, when he knew what he did was wrong. After all, he did it without Barry & Mo knowing anything, which tells us everything.
@@kthor I didn’t know any of this. Wow. And Barry always said he wears everything on his sleeve. This explains why Robin was sort of afraid to approach Barry about continuing on working together after the death of Maurice. I just watched the video of Robin doing “Wish you were here,”. No wonder Barry was disgusted with Robin. We all know how that song came into being. It was for Andy. Shameful.
@@cababyboomerq6012 Yep, sadly most people don't know why Barry would no longer work with Robin, and they NEED to. There's many of us who are fed-up with the lies & malicious comments directed at Barry across UA-cam, so we're finally speaking up for him. That's some of Robin's fans (the worst) biggest trashy talking points: Barry wouldn't work with Robin after Mo died; Barry was on the outs with all 3 brothers when they died, so he must be at fault (if you're not aware as to why, I'll fill you in), and on & on & on.🙄I also edited my first comment, from alerted to altered! Also, many think Robin rewrote & recorded Andy's song for Mo after he passed. But he recorded the song & album sometime in 2002 (Mo & Barry didn't know when, as they didn't know about it), so Barry had no clue Andy's song was on it til it was released 2 wks after Mo's death, Jan 2003. The thing that's hard to get past is there was only 2 Gibb-penned songs on it, & one of those was Andy's song. When you think of the hundreds of songs he could've chosen, that's the one he chose. After their One album & Andy's song were released July '89, Barry tried singing it, but wasn't able to. He referred to it as "a sacred object" & said it had to "rest with Andy", which says everything & what it meant to them (or at least Barry & Mo), yet Robin rewrote & recorded it. The NYT Business article was May 2003, just a few months after Mo passed, if you're able to bring it up. It goes into the business end, catalog (which Barry owns 40%) & division on their future & management the 3 were having before Mo died. In 1998, Barry wanted to go separate ways when writing & producing for others, but Robin & Mo wouldn't accept it. I know I've seen you mention before that Barry was the main writer behind much of their catalog. Think the twins response says everything when he alone wanted to work with others, but they wouldn't agree to it. They knew who was responsible for much of their success and whose talent brought them immense wealth.
Interesting comments here...I knew nothing about these men until recently. These interviews are nice but we really don’t know what went down with them over 50-60 years. Show business wrecks most family acts, and it’s remarkable that the Gibbs did what they did for as long as they did. It’s fun to feel like you know which one did what to whom or wonder why they didn’t stay close. I’m not close with my four siblings at all, and we never did anything together like these guys did! I do think Barry’s new album is fantastic and he certainly is keeping their music alive.

Wow! I didn't know about the backlash.
So proud Barry snapped out from that interview.
Until now we still love disco!
Thank you very much for this uploading. You managed to capture the look that Robin gave to Barry. Love and admiration, he was obviously happy to be with big brother once again. Not long before Robin passed. So very sad.
Hi barry❤️ keep singing🥰
These two had their moments of conflict like all siblings do, but you can see that they loved each other. And yes, Robin looked really happy to be with Barry here, didn’t he?
Eles são muito especial pra mim 🇧🇷 Barry lindão muito simpático sempre robby inmortal Maurício gibb eterno saudades de vcs Andy gibb 🙏🙏🙏

1:19 I can't help but notice that Robin was in pain while singing and still hadn't told Barry and his family about his condition... 😢 rip Robin, Moby& Andy
😢😢
@@lindam.6782 if only he wasn't too proud to seek for help. He should have take taken his illness seriously, but he just couldn't accept it.
Thanks 01livingeyes. 😁 seu canal é excelente, sempre com ótimas postagens.
Love youuu Robin Gibb

Yes, he knew he was dying even here.
!👍👍👍Ik houd er van!!💋💋💋❣️❣️❣️
robin were struggling with the cancer. he lost weight
I don't like watching this video, Robin looks so sick. Now in retrospect we know he was ill, it is so hard to see him this way.
I think every song those gentlemen wrote from 76 to early 80s,was a hit.if not in usa, then somewhere else.
They were always good. Thank you Eric Clapton
I love Barry’s silver hair in this video.♥️
Sooo lovely ...the 70-th
Amo vcs♥️♥️♥️ BEE GEES ♥️♥️♥️🇧🇷
Faltou Maurice Gibb ♥️😭😭
Thank you for sharing. Shame that in the end Barry and Robin never did work it out and actually make new music. The absence of the man in the middle (Mo) was just too evident and they just clashed.
Yes, it was different once Mo passed. But Barry was the only one holding up about working together. Robin was more than ready.
(Okay, sure Barry.)
You are correct, Suzie.
Belíssima
Interesting comments here...I knew nothing about these men until recently. These interviews are nice but we really don’t know what went down with them over 50-60 years. Show business wrecks most family acts, and it’s remarkable that the Gibbs did what they did for as long as they did. It’s fun to feel like you know which one did what to whom or wonder why they didn’t stay close. I’m not close with my four siblings at all, and we never did anything together like these guys did! I do think Barry’s new album is fantastic and he certainly is keeping their music alive.
Thanks for the video
