The smash games set a ridiculous bar for this genre, their controls are just really tight. Brawlout gets remarkably close to the feeling actually. But I wish NickBrawl got more polish. I figure they will balance some things since a few moves in the game are just incredibly strong like Toph's or Reptar's smash moves. But I doubt they'll change much more about the core experience the way it is now. I really love the game otherwise tho.

These guys don't know how to tech or DI, if they did every single one of those "60% combos" would have been easily escaped, not to mention they're playing on jank ass stages with ceilings and shit. This game has that ‘indie’ small dev fighting type feel to it, even though it has the backing of one of the biggest tv networks and a roster of well known cartoon characters.
That's because the devs are actually a small Indie company. It's made by Ludocity aka the Slap City people, they got a lot of big names on this game but it's still a very small low budget game as Nick didn't give them much to work with, it's mostly a passion project. Hopefully it leads to good things for the future though, it's a lil rough around the edges now (still very fun though) but they're planning on doing big upgrades and overhauls and considering it's doing so well commercially/reception wise this might mean they get a proper budget and can turn it into a proper series.

Except it’s actually copying smash in almost every way. The percentage based health, the off screen death, and even the announcer sounds similar. It’s most def a copy, I see no reason to choose this over smash besides not having a switch. Even then emulating smash bros brawl on the pc is a better alternative.

This game makes me feel how I felt when I first started playing smash. Everytime you learn a new mechanic it feels broken. In smash that was just because you didn't understand the other mechanics. I'm not so sure if this game the same way though.....
That being said, shout out to the dev team. They really did a great job with their resources and I hope they keep developing it. Smash needs a competitor.

I love how through gameplay alone he manages to show everything that’s broken about the game, like the fucked up collision, overpowered single moves, overpowered characters in certain maps, and so on
The devs absolutely know how busted this game is, they talked about the state of it pre-release on discord. It's just the unfortunate reality of this being a low-mid budget licensed game that had to be produced within a certain time frame to satisfy the demands of some suits who just want to line their pockets with revenue from a successful video game based on their company's IPs. The devs have already committed to post launch support and are very transparent and aware of what the audience of this game wants, so there shouldn't be any worry about this game's issues eventually being ironed out with each successive update. It will probably be a long while before this game can justify its current asking price though.

Hopefully it leads to good things for the future though, it's a lil rough around the edges now (still very fun though) but they're planning on doing big upgrades and overhauls and considering it's doing so well commercially/reception wise this might mean they get a proper budget and can turn it into a proper series.

Except it’s actually copying smash in almost every way. The percentage based health, the off screen death, and even the announcer sounds similar. It’s most def a copy, I see no reason to choose this over smash besides not having a switch. Even then emulating smash bros brawl on the pc is a better alternative.

This game makes me feel how I felt when I first started playing smash. Everytime you learn a new mechanic it feels broken. In smash that was just because you didn't understand the other mechanics. I'm not so sure if this game the same way though.....
That being said, shout out to the dev team. They really did a great job with their resources and I hope they keep developing it. Smash needs a competitor.

I love how through gameplay alone he manages to show everything that’s broken about the game, like the fucked up collision, overpowered single moves, overpowered characters in certain maps, and so on

The devs absolutely know how busted this game is, they talked about the state of it pre-release on discord. It's just the unfortunate reality of this being a low-mid budget licensed game that had to be produced within a certain time frame to satisfy the demands of some suits who just want to line their pockets with revenue from a successful video game based on their company's IPs.
The devs have already committed to post launch support and are very transparent and aware of what the audience of this game wants, so there shouldn't be any worry about this game's issues eventually being ironed out with each successive update. It will probably be a long while before this game can justify its current asking price though.

I do really enjoy this new installment in the Super Smash Brothers franchise. However, it was strange that they decided to cut Donkey Kong who’s known from his famous series Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. Looks like Bethesda is losing faith in the series’s popularity because you haven’t made dunkview on that game
