Haha drake gate brings back memories. Trapped a bird one night who lived opposite the gate. Couldn't use it for about 6 months as every time I did she would spot me and run out 😂
Oi Jack! There's no chance of another carrier coming around Drake island and coming berthing up to Rubble Jetty. Unfortunately. great song, great pictures, love the fact it's Guz.
Good sod's opera there - very enjoyable. F15 - HMS Euryalus - my final draft as killick of outside machinery from '70 - 72. Great ship, a brilliant crowd of lads and some very fond memories.
The Leander pictured is HMS Euryalus (F15) post Ikara conversion. I love the colour saturated pics - a lightning rod back to runs ashore and banyans that meant, and mean, so much to us Jacks.
Brilliant song - must learn this one - my late father was a Merchant Navy Navigating Officer and this strikes a chord for me!
My Petty Officer of the watch in HQ1, HMS Blake, 1973 / 74
we saw him recently in Louth folk club still great
Beautiful version, for sure.
As an ex- Guzz rate myself, I like this vid, especially since Shep himself was a full-time Pompey Scrote (he said that!) Old times, lovely song.
