nha not really i upgraded my phone from xiaomi 12 to 14 and it has alot more, allone the performance i can feel and see the differences. I mean if you have a iphone then no wounder you see no performance upgrades since iphones are underwelming underperforming.

As far as phone format, would be great if they could produce a down sized phone that would actually fit in a pocket, while aware of cons some people might hold in the reduction of screen, I carry my phone all the time, and always have to watch bending down, as phone is over sized, and tends to fall out, I use my phone as a phone and message device, not a pleasure device.
Thank you! No one seems to want to make a smaller, more ergonomic phone any more. I'd love one that had a decent shape that allowed me to hold it properly, and could fit in my pocket without falling out constantly. Some dimwit decided that larger, flatter phones were the new hotness years ago, and now we can't stop evolving backwards. It's infuriating.

The GP10 battlemage handheld reminds me of an 11 inch screen for the switch Austin Evens reviewed awhile ago with the large screen and the smaller controller.
Still not a fan of frame gen, at least at lower framerates (like 50 before frame gen) you can definitely feel the input lag
Yes. You can feel the lag even starting with higher (than 50 or 65-ish) initial fps. The more satisfied you are with your frame rate, the less useful frame-generating technology appears. I used DLLS in two Nvidia cards. Nobody will convince me that DLLS is better than native resolution. You have to play graphically unpolished games to notice it. There are 4 or 5 of them. It's even more visible with FSR. People who use AMD 7000 series cards aim for RX 7900, so they would not need the FSR.
I wish the mesh shader mod that was used in minecraft was used in other games as well. It increases draw distance by using the gpu and reduce cpu bottlenecks by making the cpu do more of other things. I might read over the mesh shader pipeline and documentation to better understand how it works and maybe try to put it in a game to see if I can use it.

rx580 is goated. I have it running all the games on my htpc, after it was my primary card since release.
I got my 2060s in 2018ish as an upgrade from my first gtx 970, I basically didn’t know anything about gpus but I just guessed that the ai graphics tomfoolery would come in handy down the line

Yeah, I do that with a 4090. But DLSS works well and 1% lows are paramount.

Settings maxed out, upscaling enabled, get an image that's pretty much equivalent to native 4k with higher fps than native 4k.
And don't get me wrong I'm not a big fan of upscaling, but it's here to stay. And why wouldn't it if - especially at higher resolutions - there is effectively no drawback to using it?
If I want to buy a laptop, should I wait for the new strix point CPUs as the're right round the corner? I'm buying them mostly for the beefed up iGPU since I enjoy some light gaming.

From experience the CPU naming issue will show up in top of the line gaming laptops. Someone would be at Best Buy and comparing a top of the line HP laptop versus a Razer. The Razer will be 500-700$ more but with a better screen and lighter, but after buying it, thinking they paid extra for the screen and looks, to find out the CPU is worse than the cheaper laptop.
Its 9pm, tired as hell. What do i do? Listen to Hot News while i disassemble my rig for a motherboard swap

The only thing I am worried about with nvidia 5000 series is availability. I have not been able to get a 30 or 40 FE. I ended up paying 5k on an MSI laptop just to get a 3080ti. So hopefully nvidia will figure out a way to get cards to the common folks.
Frost punk is an amazing game to play and it will pull on your emotions while playing. I cannot wait for frost punk 2 to come out. I just wish it was released in late fall or December to give it that winter effect that the game is based on

I bought the rx 6800xt 3 yrs ago. My frnd bought the rtx 3070 for the same price around the same time. Had slightly better gaming GPU then. I have an awesome gaming GPU with AFMF now. I use it in harder to run games only in my PC. But on my ROG Ally, this feature is a godsend

Yeah it's better in the way of its done in the pipeline instead of after. It also excludes parts of the game from being made fake like the gui. Just a lot of little differences and when things happen.

It's not "the same node". The increase in transistor density Ada/Hopper vs Blackwell is 30%. The high-end GPUs will get GDDR7. Probably only 5090 and refreshed 5080 while all the other will still use GDDR6X which is not any less potent than the Gen 1 GDDR7. The chip density stays the same as GDDR6 and GDDR6X - 2 GB (16 Gb). You will still get four 8-bit channels instead of two 16-bit channels used in GDDR6X. The high-end Blackwell architecture memory will not offer 36 Gbps but 32 Gbps. It will not scale up directly as the numbers (24 Gbps vs 32 Gbps) suggest.
What you say is the opposite of what TSMC and Micron produced for Nvidia.
This: "RAM speed was holding back the XX GPU vs YY GPU" is true for EVERY generation of GPUs in history. Development in memory does not follow the faster chip development. It is not possible. Your comment makes no sense.
@@HanSolo__ GDDR7 does 3 calculations each cycle compared to the 2 of GDDR6. So it is 50% more performant at the same bus speed.
If they were to run the GDDR7 at a faster speed it will be so much faster than GDDR6.
I have an iPhone 11 and 6s and I prefer the weight of the 6s regardless you don't have to pay premium for light weight.

I don't understand why when people get upset about a company naming something in a way that is pretty transparently done in a way to mislead people into thinking it's something better than what it is. (Think 3060 6gb, or really 2/3rds of their cut down GPUs, the Ryzen 5 5700 or this mobile bs, or so many of Intel's CPUs) There is always a significant amount of people going, "Just research", like of course WE already know this is a scam, it's just a method for OEMs to be vague and sell prebuilts for stupid prices, and a convenient method for second hand sellers to try and scam people by being vague with listings like has been going on with older cut down gtx cards. Like why is it so controversial to dislike vague marketing labels that effectively only exist to make it easier to scam people? be it now or in the future? How dare people care?

i know I'm not the target customer but i would love a laptop that has a 99 watt hour battery with a 15 watt chip. although we all know they will cheap out on the battery because the masses only care about the chip and not the battery life. the public has voted with their wallets and that vote said that they don't care about battery life.

I noticed the 4070 Ti SUPER news this weekend too! It’s interesting how hard you can push the card to almost a 4080. Feeling motivated from the news, I was able to push my card to 3 gHz and it’s really mind tingly to see 3000 mHz in my on-screen display.

I've been a big supporter of AMD for a long time but they better change the naming of those APUs... That's some Nvidia level garbage and as much as I want AMD to do well in mobile devices, they need to do so honestly. If they don't change the name, I hope they don't sell for crap. That's shady and I don't support those practices. That's why I don't buy Intel or Nvidia.

In Ghost of Tsushima, if you are an AMD card, use AFMF over FSR3 frame gen. Native 4k on my 7900xtx I was getting some weird stuttering with fsr 3 frame gen. Switched to using AFMF and not only is the stuttering gonna, I'm actually getting around 20fps higher with AFMF over FSR3 frame gen
I'm jaded with AI, nowadays i just skip anything that speaks about it. And that's coming from a geek.
