- A nice little trip out flighting pigeons between fields. I decided to travel light and take just a gun and cartridges. Turned out to be one of my most enjoyable outings this summer.
Nice one buddy. Not as easy as a full set up with decoys and hide etc. Good improptu shoot. Plus a crow. Well done

This might be an odd question, but what would be the best times of the year for pigeon shooting over the common cereal crops? I ask because as and when I come to ask a farmer for permission, I think I'll have a better chance to ask at a time where the crops are getting hammered by pigeons as opposed to only a few. Thanks
Hi Josh. Thanks for the comment. Different crops will need protecting at different times of the year. Rape for instance gets hit hard during the winter months. Wheat and barley when it is first drilled March, April or from July when it's getting hammered before harvest. Hope that helps mate.
