Didn't he just make high budget OC fanfiction starring his wife set in our franchise!" "Oh come on! He says he loves the games! What's he gonna do? Do the same thing with Resident Evil?"
Being an MH Vet for almost 15years now. Knowing about the culmination and eventual existence of this movie was extremely infuriating. The kind of I-want-Paul-WS-Anderson-to-be-dead infuriating
4:45 kinda, but you gotta remember in the world of monster hunter, even though there’s giant Elder dragons and monsters, threatening people all the time, the people don’t just survive, but they thrive, people don’t become hunters to protect villagers or save people but for the thrill of the hunt. Hunters love their job. They don’t just do it to protect people. The whole point of the guild isn’t to just survive or protect people to do their part in the ecosystem. It’s not a dire world, struggling to live like shown in the movie..
what if this movie adapted the plot of MH3U, like that had an insane plot for a monster hunter game that could've translated well into a Ceadus final boss battle. Definitely could've used an Elder Dragon in the movie
If the movie was good they could have ran that for a sequel but sadly this had to be that one time the writers had to make things simple because they want it to be a movie for everyone not the fans.
They could do a sequel to the movie with MH4's story since Gore Magala is the monster that they fight at the end. A frenzy virus type story would be awesome. But, that's just a dream.

This is a great video! I’ve seen many people try to summarize the existing lore and themes of the Monster Hunter series. I feel like the Monster Hunter world is very misunderstood, but you’ve done a great and in-depth job of explaining it. Your understanding of the source material really highlights the problems with this adaptation. Excellent work!
hes phoning it in. hes a director for hire now. Days work for a days pay. y need a movie about whatever product your trying to sell? days work for a days pay, doesnt matter what it is.
Damn this is a really good one, this channel is such a treat. I always thought Monster Hunter could work well as a serial anime and treat it like a monster of the week sort of thing spending an episode focusing on the party preparing and hunting a monster for the most part could easily use a storyline similar to the games yknow? Also thought it would be cool to have a documentary style movie focusing all on monsters and the world like a fantasy nature documentary.
Yeah, pretty much exactly what I thought it'd be when I saw the trailer. Anderson was a one hit wonder with his Mortal Kombat movie being one of the better game adaptations. Probably only worked out for him because there were only 3 games at the time he made that movie and the plot hadn't become too complex until MK4 and Subzero Mythologies came out. Because of what he did to Resident Evil and the games following his example, I hold him responsible for killing survival horror games.
I think we should develop a law that you could only do a movie adaptation of a game/comic you actually love and have at least hundreds of hours in. We could call it the Deadpool rule. What made those movies so great is you can tell he loves that character. He was highly involved in everything including the suit design.
10:00 Those are clearly lightning dual blades, not fire. Lightning is the main weakness of the Rathalos, so they're a perfect choice. The Admiral also has a lightning based Charge Blade, and every experienced Monster Hunter player would tell you that the strongest move of that weapon always produces an explosion, regardless of the element. I hate this movie with a passion, but those elements were perfectly fine.
Oh, I thought this was about the book series Monster Hunter International. I was about to say "No way anyone could adapt that series without cutting corners and making a mess of it".
Super easy barely an inconvenience. Make it begin with a grind for 1 hero one monster to overcome and that monster not being the big boss but another boss ending with hero facing a big big boss.
A friend pointed out that this was just a sequel to the Resident Evil Alice Movieverse, that when humanity and zombies ceased to exist, the monsters came, and Soldier Alice is just was just a clone with different embedded memories than the rest of Alices
From the start I knew that the MH movie wouldnt be that good. 1st sign was Paul WS Anderson helming the project then he had to hire his wife Milla. In the last decade they dont have a good track record, resident evil franchise, three musketeers etc
Honestly, I had no idea that any of the characters in this movie were supposed to resemble anyone in the games. Just shows you how poor of a job they did with the introductions and development. They just chucked some dude in Cosplay gear in there and went "Yeah, fans will know". No, apparently they wont lol.
Haven’t watched the movie nor played the game but I have a feeling had they just done a movie about the group and then see Jovovich at the end it would have been a much better movie!
As someone who’s been a fan of the franchise since Tri, I was highly upset when I heard Paul was directing a movie about the games. He has NO idea how to do games justice. He doesn’t need to touch Monster Hunter, Capcom! Stop letting him mess up your games! But as always, great seeing your videos.
I’ve heard about the Monster Hunter movie a few years ago, I got excited, but…the first thing I heard how it’s gonna go is with a interdenominational teleportation, that actually made my hopes for this movie drop drastically, at least the Legends of the Guild made me feel happy to have a MH movie that I can enjoy and love, just like the game series
Gore magala is categorizing unknown despite the fact that it turns into an elder dragon you might as well categorize it infancy form as an elder dragon too. That's what they did with xeno'jiiva and Safi'jiiva
"It's unlike we'll be seeing a followup anytime soon" Good. I don't think a live action of Monster Hunter should be a movie. There's way too much to cram that unless you're already a fan of the series, you won't know what's going on or inner story and workings. A movie outside of what we got which was "look at how hot my wife is" would be challenging to convey Monster Hunter's story and premise. Instead, a live action series tv show would be better suited. You'd be able to pace out the story more. Allow for world building along with the idea of someone newly thrown into the world growing and becoming a skilled hunter. Plus, with a live action series, it would open the gates to being able to have multiple seasons when it comes down to confronting any of the black dragons. But never-the-less, the inner working message of the importance of hunting could be conveyed. And with a series, you could have multiple hunting parties, friends, cameos of different people showing up as hunters, and so-on. Along with just the group that the main character would make to take out on hunts, I wouldn't be opposed if they decided to use one of those rare/uncommon Wyverian hunters. Hell, it'd probably be an opportunity to show off something like the insect glaive, the kinsect, and all of that.
reminder debate in the new released Resident Evil movie trailer, people white knight gaslighting how this new RE movie is "absolutely accurate" (without telling what part, maybe the new Leon design) but "people are too toxic (and racist)" to accept it, the purpose I mention it because this MH movie also have accurate weapons and Rathalos but is it a good adaptation or even a good movie.
As I described to my friend's stepdad last night and others, this film is basically just the live-action Resident Evil movies if you replaced all the zombies with draconic beasts cause Artemis/Alice fights.
I find it hilarious that the movie Nerscylla can't survive in the sunlight but the one from the game can even live in volcanic regions. Also in the movie it doesn't even extend it's fangs.
They could've just made the story on how the fatalis came to be or maybe how dalamadurs shaped the lands amd did what it did in its lore. But nope, paul's wife has to be in it and be perfect as usual

M & Ms: Just wait when they get a load of me, I don't melt in their hands!
"Let's cash in on our Monster Hunter franchise and make a movie!"
"Cool! Now who do we get to make the movie?"
"How about the same guy we got for the Resident Evil movies?"
"Paul W.S. Anderson?! Didn't he just make high budget OC fanfiction starring his wife set in our franchise!"
"Oh come on! He says he loves the games! What's he gonna do? Do the same thing with Resident Evil?"
I swear Paul only makes films to cast his wife and make her ex-producer .
Look What I Am F***ing: The Saga.
Directed by Paul S. Anderson.
Who Paul?
@@RIPToNateDoggIHadToRegulate The Director of this.

Thank God for UA-camrs who explain the lore of Monster Hunter
Don’t thank god! Thank the algorithm 😂
Being an MH Vet for almost 15years now. Knowing about the culmination and eventual existence of this movie was extremely infuriating. The kind of I-want-Paul-WS-Anderson-to-be-dead infuriating
This movie was so bad it made me cry
Geez, the editing in the movie clips is terrible. But it’s nothing I wouldn’t expect from a Paul W.S. Anderson movie
Imagine seeing a whole movie like that, because that's no shit how the movie was edited. I had a wicked headache only 15 minutes into it
4:45 kinda, but you gotta remember in the world of monster hunter, even though there’s giant Elder dragons and monsters, threatening people all the time, the people don’t just survive, but they thrive, people don’t become hunters to protect villagers or save people but for the thrill of the hunt.
Massive underwater fight would have been 100000000000% better than anything in this crap shoot of a movie.
@@ight5333 Yeah after it flopped I don't see another for a good while being a thing and I don't know if Anderson still have the rights to make another hopeful that ended.
The Nyscilla scenes absolutely triggered my arachnophobia. Almost reminded me of that scene in the Chamber of Secrets when they're running from Aragog's brood
Thanks for myself I'm not Arachnophobia
@@LuisRivera-jk1vo lucky
Nerscylla don't do that, they do something equally freaky to another creature called the gypceros, where the nerscylla eats them and skin them for thunder resistance.
Nerscylla doesn’t even work like that in the games. They are supposed to be giant solitary predators not generic swarm enemy
This director is built to make lame stuff. It's engrained in him deeply and the maximum of his talent, lameness. I think most saw this coming.
hes phoning it in. hes a director for hire now. Days work for a days pay. y
need a movie about whatever product your trying to sell? days work for a days pay, doesnt matter what it is.
You should do a video on a successful videogame movie adaption, since they're so rare.
Anyone who saw the very first trailer, knew this movie would be bad.
Name jeff
So, I'm guessing the director needed cash and a job for his wife, two problems solved by making a mediocre movie and a decent tax right off to boot.
That and he snagged the rights to make a MH movie before the series took off and became real popular after he started doing the RE movies.
I didnt even watch the trailer...
It turned out exactly as i imagined it would...
"It's literally alice from resident evil all over again" 100% True
I can’t wait when you do a Max Payne adaptation video
Yeah, pretty much exactly what I thought it'd be when I saw the trailer. Anderson was a one hit wonder with his Mortal Kombat movie being one of the better game adaptations. Probably only worked out for him because there were only 3 games at the time he made that movie and the plot hadn't become too complex until MK4 and Subzero Mythologies came out. Because of what he did to Resident Evil and the games following his example, I hold him responsible for killing survival horror games.
When some low quality fanfic got its own movie adaptation
I think we should develop a law that you could only do a movie adaptation of a game/comic you actually love and have at least hundreds of hours in. We could call it the Deadpool rule. What made those movies so great is you can tell he loves that character. He was highly involved in everything including the suit design.
Always a good day when I get to hear Nyat's buttery smooth voice.
It’s been a while. Glad you’re still making great quality videos
The moment I saw Paul W. S. Anderson's name & the entire trailer.... I knew what kind of Videogame Adaptation this would be.
Didn't know this was a game.
I saw the name of the producer and lead actor and said, "oh, more Resident Evil" and I wasn't disappointed.
Oh, I thought this was about the book series Monster Hunter International. I was about to say "No way anyone could adapt that series without cutting corners and making a mess of it".
You know what the best was in the Assassin's Creed Movie?
Mr Fassbender. That Man can Play almost anything perfectly👍
Super easy barely an inconvenience. Make it begin with a grind for 1 hero one monster to overcome and that monster not being the big boss but another boss ending with hero facing a big big boss.
I was just going to watch the movie. And this poped up. Weird. Guess I'll watch this after.
This movie was just an excuse for Paul to have his wife dress up as a monster hunter character for bedroom reasons.
A video game without the game is just a video
Was hyped when they announced a Monster Hunter movie. But when i heard Paul Anderson was the director i lose all interest.
I laughed so hard during this movie and it def wasn’t supposed to be a comedy I mean they casted TI who does that??
Ti was in antman too and did GREAT please stop rambling
@@sosa_moody4674 before he got fired for being a weird ass
@@Eskinichori I’m pretty sure he was cleared from all that
When the best part of your movie is a foreigner (who's not a foreigner in your film) yelling "chocolate!", you have a problem!!!
Paul S. Anderson is the British response to Uwe Boll, who is also the German response to Ed Wood...
Who remembers when people were calling people who didn’t like the movie Sonic the Hedgehog and Detective Pikachu haters?
Difference being that those movies were good. Or at the very least not ridiculously terrible.
Hey film and comics explained do you think you can do a video about b4b zombies?
Honestly, I had no idea that any of the characters in this movie were supposed to resemble anyone in the games. Just shows you how poor of a job they did with the introductions and development. They just chucked some dude in Cosplay gear in there and went "Yeah, fans will know". No, apparently they wont lol.
"Carve a name for himself/herself."
Let that sink in.
I think you should make videos talking about the monsters and some lore from the games, such as Fatalis and Schrade Kingdom
Haven’t watched the movie nor played the game but I have a feeling had they just done a movie about the group and then see Jovovich at the end it would have been a much better movie!
Don't watch the movie, play the games there 100000000000000000% better than whatever that movie is
As someone who’s been a fan of the franchise since Tri, I was highly upset when I heard Paul was directing a movie about the games. He has NO idea how to do games justice.
He doesn’t need to touch Monster Hunter, Capcom! Stop letting him mess up your games!
But as always, great seeing your videos.
If you haven't done it, could you please explain the monster/alien from The Dreamcatcher (2003), in the future?
I’ve heard about the Monster Hunter movie a few years ago, I got excited, but…the first thing I heard how it’s gonna go is with a interdenominational teleportation, that actually made my hopes for this movie drop drastically, at least the Legends of the Guild made me feel happy to have a MH movie that I can enjoy and love, just like the game series
I love Tony Jaa's enthusiasm!
If they only knew Nercylla doesn't live in desert caves and its subspecies only comes out in cold nights at the Desert areas
How to fail at any adaptation... Hire Wes Anderson, end video
Monster Hunter also has alot of humor in it aswell and light and happy sides
Holy cow! I didn’t even know it was based on a game!
Me with full fatalis gear spectating noobs get slapped in high rank
reminder debate in the new released Resident Evil movie trailer, people white knight gaslighting how this new RE movie is "absolutely accurate" (without telling what part, maybe the new Leon design) but "people are too toxic (and racist)" to accept it, the purpose I mention it because this MH movie also have accurate weapons and Rathalos but is it a good adaptation or even a good movie.
Hey you should do the movie Species or the whole saga
Wait there was a movie of this game 🤣 bruh I actually didn't even know.
I really hope there's a Devils Breath Virus analysis.
Paul Andersons next movie: Mario Party
Could you do a video about my favorite movie of all time O Brother where art thou?? Please 🙏
As I described to my friend's stepdad last night and others, this film is basically just the live-action Resident Evil movies if you replaced all the zombies with draconic beasts cause Artemis/Alice fights.
Paul W.S. Anderson is the new Uwe Boll.
Milla is the Hollywood of Queen of being a Mary Sue.
Well, not a coincidence that the films Mila starred in are all produced by her husband
Fifth Element, Ultraviolet?
Let’s just hope the sequel would be better then the first one
I swear, Mia is dead set on giving us bug-eyes in every shot in the movie
Just another money siphon for Paul and Mila. Yumyum good money. Maybe quite a bit less than most of the resident evil movies though.
Also the gore magala at the end is weak to Thunder Fire and Dragon so the fire weapon wasn't a bad choice
Paul W.S. Anderson and Milla Jovovich have overthrown Uwe Boll.
