This song isn't depressing. It's a beautiful description of heartbreak. Any jackals can write a happy or angry song. It takes an artist to write a prefect heartbreak song.
True. But there is a deeper meaning here. Heart break doesn't just come from breakups. My dad died unexpectedly, and that was a heartbreak I had never felt before. Everyone has heartbreak once in their lifetime.
I love your comments. I had forgotten what it was like before the realities of love and heartbreak had hit me. You reminded me of that youthful, quixotic optimism. The tin man metaphor is how many people shut themselves off after a painful breakup. Yet pain is part of love, and the experience is worth it. I was the tin man for years, I am glad this is not the case now.
Love Love Love this woman she is the Queen of Country....icon in Country music the most Warded artist in country music....this song is for the broken heart ed...not everyone is your Grandparents wish they was... then we Wouldn't even know what it felt like to be hurt....
Vie is another great one, the emotion in songs like this is what makes me feel something inside, definitely not a party song but does wonders to the souls knowing other people go through your same struggles.
I was listening to this guy try to work this out verbally and my wife asked me from across the room what I was watching because I was apparently looking at my phone like it was the dumbest thing I had ever seen. And I have a teenage brother so....
Miranda's heart was broken after Blake filed for divorce! here are a few of her other great songs to react to: ( Vice, Got my last name back, w/Pistol Annies, Kerosene, Hell on heels, Hush, Hush, Somethin Bad Gonna Happen w/Carrie Underwood) she has a whole lot more, you can just type her name in search and it'll bring them up! Thanks for your reaction.
She wrote this in response to Kenny Chesney’s song “Tin Man” which is a play on the Wizard of Oz. Listening to Kenny’s song may give you a little better context.
Thank you for your first Miranda reaction... It is not in the realm of my thinking to imagine there is someone who hates her music... But you have to consider that I'm a "Ran Fan" !
Damn this comment section is rough XD You are right though! Its a depressing and beautiful song. Its super pessimistic but that's just because its written from that immediate post-heartbreak headspace when trying again can feel hopeless. Objectively you are 100% correct, but from a songwriting standpoint, songs love to speak to emotions that aren't always rational. Anyway, I enjoyed your reaction and discussion, I know its 2 years old but thought I'd leave a positive comment to combat the overreactions you seem to have gotten here! You were correct on the tin man guess, in the story he is going to the wizard to ask him for a heart. Cheers!!
dang. this is rough. your initial reaction to the incredible songwriting is "that's depressing". im pretty sure you would have never said that if it was a guy singing. then you're not sure if miranda is referring to the tin man from the wizard of oz cause you dont remember the attributes of each character. umm....yeah, the tin man was the one without a heart. she didn't screw that up. keep sipping that drink lol. its funny that i was dumbfounded why this song didn't win every songwriting award possible. you struggle to understand what this song is about LOL. you've demonstrated that it is so over the head country music fans, they can't even handle it. go back to the bro country songs about trucks, beers, and girls.
Oh vey. My review of this reviewer: Needs more cowbell. Or maturity. Or depth. Or experience. Or something. You don’t need to interpret the song. Good grief, don’t try to correct her POV.
I live in Kansas. The idea that someone doesn't know The Wizzard of Oz is completely alien to me. I think I have probably seen it hundreds of times.
"That's depressing " the best music of all time has had an essence of sadness, heartbreak or strong emotion.
So true Nicholus. It's often out of heart break where beautiful things arise.
Miranda is a Texas badazz and makes no apologies for it. We Texas girls are just raised different. I love her music.

You can't imagine it unless you have someone you love turns away from you and they never look back.

She is amazing but Reba is the Queen of Country maybe even Dolly
Miranda has a ton of awesome songs, and I looooove her voice!!
I'll have to check out more of them!
The scarecrow wanted a brain, the lion wanted courage and sweet tin man wanted a heart. Great movie
She came out with this after her divorce with Blake Shelton. The live performance is amazing. Amazing singer and guitarist.
Ahhh, I had no idea she was married to him.
Live version is 100xs better than this version
❤❤❤
I love Miranda. She has a lot of uptempo songs too.
I'll have to check out more by her Richard!
The tin man wanted a heart in the Wizard of Oz. That is why he wanted to go to Oz.
Vie is another great one, the emotion in songs like this is what makes me feel something inside, definitely not a party song but does wonders to the souls knowing other people go through your same struggles.
I'll have to add it to my list.
I dont listen to much country music but I've heard 2 Miranda songs, Tin Man being one and Vice being the other. Both have very interesting vibes.
I may have to check that one out!
First time watching. Don't change man. First 5 seconds got you a sub from me. Thanks.
Watch the live just to appreciate it

Wizard of oz!! ❤ 😎

Haha I love this Rita. She seems to be crazy talented and very popular!
Must be nice to have never experienced heartbreak before. This kid clearly hasn't..
Heart break has many forms, but people also internalize or handle things differently.
Her marriage broke up with Blake Shelton in public! This was the result. Please see the live version at AMA
Damn this comment section is rough XD

never trust a review where the reviewer interrupts what's being reviewed.
She co-wrote this after an extremely hurtful break up in her marriage to Blake Shelton.
You seem detached from heartbreak. Maybe you’ve never had your heartbroken before?
Vice is a great one
How are you missing the fact it’s a brake up song?

Oy, not oh. The edit button wouldn’t let me edit.
Really??
Get a life and watch the Wizard of Ozz and then you have a grasp on what you want to talk about!!!
