I’ve always wanted to install a Disco 1 auto tranny pan with a level dipstick to my Disco 2 V8. It’s the same sump clamps and bolts for both Discos. Thanks from Suffolk! 🇺🇸
@@danieltorres2196 if i do a service i use 10ltr and keep pumping for a while to get dirty oil from torque converter, most service kits come with 10ltrs
Excellent video ,i have the same box on my volvo 940 diesel the filter has been changed once ,in 23 years ,but i have done the oil changes myself every 3 to 4 years just by draining the sump 3 times at 3 litre amounts ,where do you get the oil filter and gasket from i woud like to try the job myself , ive done all basic servicing on this car but not that job im a retired carpenter live in north staffordshire , regards jim
@@offroadrehab-yw3yp thanks for the prompt reply ,there may be slight differences in the filter but im not sure i have the old one some where i will find it and see if there is a difference , the sump on my car has a feed pipe going into it how woud i be able to send a photo i have email and whats app im 70 now and bit limited on inter net skills but get by worst senerio is i have to get a garage to change it but woud like to try my self ,i have big solid timber ramps so no problem there but you say i need flat level ground so i may be stumped there too what do you think ?
Yeah its important you get correct amount of oil back in sump, you could always measure the amount of old oil you remove then fill gear box with same amount, i can get under my discovery to do this service, im lucky the discovery has the clearance
That sump is too clean! Can’t be a Landrover 😂
Yep its a land rover, ha , thanks

Yeah , i think that would make a great video, i will look out for one, thanks
I think the ATF and filter change for a D1 which is probably the same as a D2 is every 5 years or 50,000KM
Im thinking of modifying my gearbox to use a dipstick
