I’ve always wanted to install a Disco 1 auto tranny pan with a level dipstick to my Disco 2 V8. It’s the same sump clamps and bolts for both Discos.
    Thanks from Suffolk! 🇺🇸

Just done my Mk1 300tdi as I had to replace the oil cooler lines. You cant get the sump off without releasing the transfer case mount as it blocks on of the bolts. The dipstick that you all want is bolted to the bell housing but you can't get to the bolt (hello angle grinder!) The filter is held in with Torx 27 (not 25 or 30). I wish it was as easy as this video..... Thank you Land Rover for helping me teach the neighbourhood children more swear words

Yeah its important you get correct amount of oil back in sump, you could always measure the amount of old oil you remove then fill gear box with same amount, i can get under my discovery to do this service, im lucky the discovery has the clearance

@@danieltorres2196 if i do a service i use 10ltr and keep pumping for a while to get dirty oil from torque converter, most service kits come with 10ltrs

I think the ATF and filter change for a D1 which is probably the same as a D2 is every 5 years or 50,000KM
