- BMW X5 V8 SUV 0-100kph Review. We got our hands on quite a nice example of the E53 X5, specced with the N62 4.4L engine. Although it is in stock tune it has had a muffler delete, which on these cars are most of the vehicles mufflers, so it does make a great noise!

My 2005 BMW X5 4.4i with 223,000 miles does 0-100 kmh in ~8s. Quarter mile comes in at 15.5s. The 60ft and 0-30 times are excellent. That's without any rpm hold either. Instant acceleration.
I own a 2001 BMW 4.4i with Sport package. It has over two hundred thousand trouble free miles on it. Yeah, Scotty Kilmer is correct, BMW makes great engines!
Has it cost you an arm and leg in fuel??
I dont wanna start a war here but it has a bit of an old school AMG sound to it. Love the E53. That whole era of BMW was awesome.

How's your X5 holding up? I'm about to buy a 2006 X5 4.8is... it'll be my first BMW. It has 104,000 miles on it...
@@paolo-n2000 It's pretty good.. I got it for about $1600 and it needed to get the transmission fixed but it's been good ever since.. I regularly do the services which I suggest that you do as well and it should do ok for you.. and when in doubt watch Zero to 60
i pick up my 05 X5 4.4L sport tomorrow morning and its going in for mid muffler delete, X-pipe and two magnaflow rear mufflers the following day. I'll post up a video with some idling, revving and 0-100 estimates. car has 171k with a rebuilt gearbox, new torque convertor and the standard exhaust pipes with the mods as stated (muffler removal/X-pipe, magnaflow rears). Located Perth, Western Australia. Love the tailpipes on this one in your video.

While thinking about it. Did you see the android stereo install in the x5? Absolute must do. We did a seperate video on, but it’s the infotainment system up to current standards for a relatively small price.
Zero To 60 I drove away about an hour ago. Love this thing. It’s the rare M blue colour. Has a Sony Head unit wired in fully. Full controls with the rear camera. This car literally has thousands spent on it and I stole it at $9500. Timing belt, chain tensioners, coolant seals and pipes, rebuilt gearbox, new torque converter, spark plugs and come tomorrow lunch time, the exhaust done. I’m so excited for the angry bark it will have tomorrow. I use to own a 4.2 A6 a few years back, though with my two dogs I wanted a wagon. The N62 sure is rad!!
iv got a 2005 silver one , had it 6 months it's got 173,000 on it now , keep the oil n filter changed every 4000 and you can't go wrong , I never tire of watching people head turn when you start this beast up it feels new even after 14 years amazing motor
Daniel, Iam in Perth as well. Did you ever post that sound clip? Iam curious to hear it. I just got a 4.4 v8 . Not sure if I should go with just the rear muffler delete or what u r doing. Don’t want it crazy loud or drone . Thx for any advice
Actually like the 5 speed more than the 6 speed. But i am bias as I own the 2003 4.4i. Great vid!
The 5 speeds seem less prone to faults that’s for sure.

Probabaly the 3.0d as they both age.
My 2008 Acura MDX is considerably quicker. 0-60 7.4 - 7.7sec 1/4 mile 15.8sec with me and the wife in. That’s at Pocono racetrack.72degrees outside. 132k miles on the truck. I’ve street raced a few X5s 4.4 just assumed they weren’t “on it”.?? Assumed they were faster cause they have 325hp vs the MDX 300hp... who Knew? The BMWs sound better at least

My BMW X5 4.4i with 223,000+k miles does 15.5s quarter mile stock. No rpm hold, nothing. Just press and go.
My E53 4.8iS does it in 7.0 sec, paper said 6.1...
