I have higher hopes for these than other entries in the 'animal survival genre'. The devs seem more down to earth, less cocky and less toxic than what other devs are like, in this genre. Not pointing fingers, you know who Im taking about. Not most of the roster behind a paywall, not being toxic towards criticism, and not making outlandish statements for the future of the game they cant keep. You know which 3 games Im referring to, so Im glad we're getting dev teams that are open and decent in their way of doing things. Wish them all the luck in the world.
I've always wanted a game where you can play as a human and a dragon because most dragon games are about ending dragons but i like being them and also it will be fun seeing people playing as humans form kingdoms.
@@realdragon They can, if you pick the nomad class of human then they sacrifice their ability to use NPC outposts and team up with humans, in order to team up with dragons instead
Me and a friend of mine wanted a game where one of us (Me) would play the dragon and the other would play the human. Big and tough backing up fast and agile. Double the trouble, double the fun.
I adore the skin customization in Untamed. I love the freedom and always wanted more creature games with that. Biggest selling point for me is flexible customizability. Definitely backing it! And thank you for showcasing The Wings of Dawn! 😁 I'm so excited for its further development in the future! Honestly just excited for both of these!
Great video Lusewing! I'm already supporting Wings of Dawn as much as possible so I can't support Untamed financially but it does look interesting so when I can I might get it!
Never feel like you need to stretch your funds, there are far more important things than games. Just hanging out and supporting the community is more than enough if you enjoy the game premise
Amazing video. I've been looking at Untamed recently, but Wings of Dawn has been a bit of an unsure investment for me. It looks good, but they dont seem very open with their game from a complete outsiders view. And to each their own, im not gonna completely hate them for just wanting to work on their game with little community bc that can be smart, but with a big project comes great need for support
Nothing wrong with not liking a game if it's not for you. I think a big problem these days is that people think they HAVE to like something for it to be good. Diffrent people look for different things in games.
Not sure if you are thinking of the right game there? we do weekly updates on progress every monday for the last year with many different suggestion channels and communication with the community but always research before looking into any project-! c:
I already have the Untamed demo and wings of dawn is in my steam wishlist so I'm excited for what's to come for these games, they already have so much potential
I'm excited about both of these games but seeing character customization like FeralHeart/FeralHeart Unleash has would mean the world to me as you can really go wild with making your character truly unique with choices of body parts/markings/the colour wheel/dressing up/etc ❤
There is a new upcoming game feralheart related but with many more stuff to come^^ It's Called FeralBound Online, future it be on steam atm very WIP but can't wait!
Don't worry, they are holding another crowdfunding in March (maybe later if they need to). They had a lot of things go wrong out of their control during their first attempt and have learnt and grown from it. The Tec demo will be up at the same time as well so you can really try out what they have managed to do so far with minimal funding
Both games look amazing, I love the inspiration from Wings of Dawn with a HTTYD setting with both humans, riders, and dragons with AI controlled creatures 👍
Both these games do look very interesting.....especially Untamed as its an animal/ creature survival game that no one has thought of or even done before. Im also very interested in wings of dawn as well. That game is also doing something new by adding humans into the mix as well as dragons. I just hope that wings of dawn comes to consoles in the near future as I just find it very annoying when all these survival games get released on Pc/ steam and consoles always get ignored and forgotten about. I really really hope that in the future somone out there makes a dragon survival game like day of dragons and wings of dawn but for consoles as well as pc. Its time that games like these stop being always exculsive to pc and steam and for consoles to get some love!!!! Its not fair. I know that Pcs are more powereful than consoles, or at least can be, but now with the newer generation of consoles, they are just as powerful as high end Pc and are now capable of running high quality games which sometimes most high end pcs cant do. So its time more games like these come to consoles.
Its not that the indie Devs forget or ignore Consoles, its that it is very hard to develop games for consoles, and far more expensive than PC. Consoles require a lot of approval just for patches as well, which makes it super hard for early access games to even get a foot in the door.
even though theres mutable new upcoming dragon games coming but am sure DoD will be my only fav because how financially involved althou the human and dragons look epic
DoD has had more time to develop, I'm very happy to see more games with dragons come out as it gives people more options to find the gameplay they enjoy. Humans wouldn't be for me, but I know there are loads that will love it.
Well, I tried the wings of dawn demo when they had done kickstarter, and as a concept artist myself I didn't have a huge amount of faith when playing it. The game was neat, yes. But the professionalism of the kickstarter indicated to me that they hadn't been ready. There's only so much you can do with concept art. I think untamed has a much better chance at success because it is going back to basics, it has a /very/ clear and clean art direction and was able to do a kickstarter right.
I am not sure you are thinking of the right game when speaking about Wings of Dawn? I have been following the game since their first kickstarter but there was no demo available during that time, so i am unsure on how you played it? They only made one available in the past year, for Patreon backers, which they are still fleshing out for the new official kickstarter campaign. Beside the fact that in this one year of developing a demo they have reached more progress then most of the current big survival games. Though i agree that the original kickstarter, consisting purely of concept art, was a bit too early for them.
@@JustAShyGhost hello the project founder of the Wings of Danw here! In our first Kickstarter campaign which failed, we did have a demo made, but because our lead programmer left very suddenly just right under our first campaign, it left us with loads of issues and a hot deadline to try and finish the remain parts of the demo. As our first game, we did make the mistake to rush and choosing not to delay the crowdfunding, which we have since learned from that incident. 2:44 - 3:07 is just… sad. A team of actually passionate and pretty promising indie developers are treated exactly the same as scams. I have nothing against being wary; as the risk is always there. But the fact that this negativity brings down ambitious projects is really just sad.
Both seem interesting 🤔 probably wings of Dawn for me.... we'll see how these progress. If one ends up lending better to single player that will likely be the preferred one in the long run
@@TheWingsOfDawnOfficialI think they are talking more about the singleplayer experience. these sim games tend to end up pretty boring for people who prefer playing solo rather than joining a group. it’s always been an issue for games where the majority of content is reliant on other players. I’m one of those people, so I hope it’s possible to still enjoy the game outside of the multiplayer aspects :V it looks very cool!
I've been burned way too many times to ever want to give any financial support anymore. So I'll just wait for these to come out, however Wings of Dawn looks far more interesting for me.
Always the smart move, ive been burned myself which is why I normally don't showcase games that are crowdfunding at the time. But these really caught my eye and so many people were saying how they hated that they missed out on the DoD kickstarter.
thank you very much but yes to many past projects have put left a bad taste in many mouths and trust is running low the best way to over come this is through actions we hope to show that.
The costumization menu is a bit mediocre and the fact you cannot rotate the creature with mouse makes it a bit less handy in the Untamed. Other than the game looks okay, interesting design, environment, slightly unbalanced, some animations and sounds needs fine tune but the game have some potential to be a good one.
@@Lusewing Indeed. If you can check also the Cenozoic Era maybe you could also mention it. Hopefully all of these current 25+ survival games will see the light of day.
There really is no better, just different. Having humans in the game has no interest for me, but for others its a fantastic thing. There is more than enough room for 100's of dragon games and I welcome them all.
