    Finally it's so refreshing to see a guy get so excited to do a video about upcyling, most of the videos I see are women, cheers to this guy and trying to help the planet.😊😊💖

      I’ve been inspired by several people in my life who have made a living selling other peoples unwanted items. It’s definitely made an impact and has inspired me to find new ways to do things or find new uses for what would normally be tossed out.

    I’ve used mine for freezing individual servings of fresh cooked veggies. I got plastic lids from Amazon, that come in assorted colors. I’ll also be using them to put pudding/gelatin in, also for individual servings. Some people use them for homemade baby food. There seems to be endless ideas out here on UA-cam and probably Etsy too.👍🏼👍🏼

    Super cool video. I had the same idea too! I'm surprised you don't have more subscribers. I love your videos. Keep going! 😊

    I looked for the lids and they were $9 dollars EACH on amazon, pretty expensive. I think buying candles that come in glass containers with wooden lids would be a cheaper option plus the house would smell amazing.

      I also thought the kids were over priced. There were cheaper ones, but lesser quality.

    May I ask how you removed the glue from the labels?

    • @SustainableDan

      I use goo-gone.

    • @SustainableDan
      @SustainableDan  Рік тому

      You can also soak them in hot soapy water and scrape it off with a knife.

      @@SustainableDan thank you for the reply. I tried it with soaking it in hot water but it too a lot of elbow grease to remove the glue. Lol
      I used goo gone as well but I was afraid the chemicals in it wouldn’t be safe to use the glass anymore.

    But how do you get the adhesive off the rim of the jar?? I have a dozen saved but ugh no matter how many times I wash you can see/feel it :-(

    • @SustainableDan
      @SustainableDan  Рік тому +1

      A razor blade and hot water is the best way I have found to get adhesive off glass. Be careful not to cut yourself though.

    • @jeffreyschmidt3997

      The adhesive is often oil soluble. Try mineral oil, vegetable oil, or whatever you have on hand that's cheap

    $6 for a lid! A single lid! Nope. Sorry, I am all for recycling, reusing, etc. but I am not spending $6 for one lid. Plus shipping. And tax. Nope.

    • @SustainableDan
      @SustainableDan  2 роки тому

      Yeah, it is pretty pricey. There are definitely craftier ways to make a lid.

      Yes it might seem alot but look it's a Recycled yogurt container. We spend $6 for a beautiful, wouldn't top? That actually is exceeled where I have seen containers like that costs up to $5060, which is disgusting. Ly viable, but I'd rather recycle something. And pay $6 and have it look beautiful in my kitchen. And I also know I'm not adding to like trash out there, but I also have a gorgeous thing that wood cost, and you see all these rich people paying $5060 for the most ridiculous crap, but this will be as beautiful and not crop. And then really, you're only paying $6 Because it was a container that you ate yogurt out of so I'm willing to spend the 6. Dollars and yes, I do understand it's a lot of money, but it's not really when you look at it's a whole picture and to tell you the truth, get some rapia around it in a little beautiful little tag. And you could sell that. I feel like 40 bucks and make a ton of money. So to all these rich people think it's just so amazing how beautiful it looks. Girl, it's all about marketing. We all got it in us so I wish you luck. I wish my fell American woman. Work card or let the product work hard and you work less Love you all xoxo good luck

    I want to make these lids out of scraps of laminate flooring... Haven't figured out how to make them seal, just sit-on-top so far. Ideas anyone?

    • @SustainableDan

      I wonder if you could use wire and make those lock top lids.

    Are you going to drink that pricey espresso or just look at it? Disturbing to see it wasted.

      It’s $1 a pod and of course I drank it. 😋
