    7 years later and I'm glad I found this video. It was super helpful and informative. I'm planning to taper my hair soon and don't feel like giving Great Clips my money.

    Yes... I used clippers about a week ago to maintain my pixie and it looks wonderful. I have received many comments. I asked some one else up here whom I follow about clippers but she did not recommend clippers be cuz she said it would not look feminine... Wrong ... But thanx for you tutorial...I've followed you & her and Malinda Williams for years. Never step foot in a salon to get my pixie so Thanx again to you

    I love your videos because they help me maintain my short hair without frequent trips to the salon. I would love to see more how-tos on maintaining a short cut when you have a frequent workout schedule. I go to the gym 3-5 days per week BEFORE I go to work, and I would love to have a better handle on keeping my hair cute and classy after sweating in it right before work. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

      dididoubleu Thank you. I don't have a good answer for this. I get asked all the time. The truth is that when short relaxed hair gets damp or wet it just has to be redone. I used to re do my wrap every single morning. I'd wrap it and sit under the dryer. It's a lot of maintenance & many women simply go natural b/c short relaxed hair is too much to keep up when you work out regularly.

    Great tutorial, I did this recently just based on picking things up from other channels but this is a great DIY summary and demonstration. I’m loving the pixie life and the shears were a great investment.

    Thank you soooo much for this! I normally trim my pixie with a feather razor but it takes sooo long sometimes. I have clippers and wanted to cut it with them
    But was unclear on the gaurds. As well as that awesome tip for the baby hair edges when you trimed it short around the long hairs. Ive been having an issue when molding my hair it all moves in that area and thanks to your advice to cut it at an angle will make it lay sooo much better! Thank you!!!

    I did not know you had a video on using clippers!!! I just ordered some on amazon and can't wait to use them. You did a great job. However, I was hoping you was going to use the razor for a line up. I personally like the straight edge. Good job Kaye👍💕

    ok...i used the clippers - with the guard on to take down the side of my hair(assymetrical pixie😃). Let me tell you I was scared however, it came out really good and I prefer the clippers to the scissors👌

    I really enjoy your videos. I cut my hair myself last year, and I wanted to trim the back down without a fade. The instructions for the side and the back is just what I need. I have two questions for you. Does it matter whether you hold the clippers up or down when you are cutting with the guard. If I use a razor comb to trim the back of my hair down, would I hold the razor comb the same way that I would a regular comb? I am very comfortable with cutting my hair. Its time to clean this stuff up.

    • @KayeWrightPrettyPixies
      @KayeWrightPrettyPixies  7 років тому +2

      Angela F I take the clippers from my ear down to my nape. I don't cut in an upward motion but some people do. With the razor comb I comb in the same direction -- down and yes I hold it the same way as I hold a regular comb.

    It is more convenient to use a wireless clipper charged with a USB wire. I just bought one - lightweight and handy. One charge can last hours.
