From most greasy to least is USA tube, Aus original, Aus AD, Indo original, Indo AD. Since I don't like the oily look (my hair is naturally pretty oily) my go to is the Indo AD. The smell of Indo original is more classic but not overtly like the USA tube. I haven't tried the UK tub yet, but I think the Australian is pretty similar. Ingredients are close between the two but the UK has synthetic lemon-ish scents added. Used to use Groom & Clean but spicy smell gets to be a bit too much.
dtimm612 Like you, I'm obsessed with the quest of hunting down different Brylcreems around the world. Because I like high shine, I hated the Indonesian/SEA version because it practically has a natural shine when Brylcreem is supposed to give a high shine, so I dismiss it as a failure tbh because Brylcreem should have actual shine, hence the name. But one man's trash is another's treasure. I know those who don't like anything too greasy will like the Asian version.
I also found out there's a Mexican version which looks like an older version of the UK can, has the same UK scent but I heard it's not shiny enough. And there's a Brazilian version which smells like Froot Loops. Really weird how Brylcreem varies per nation. This came as a shock to me initially and when I broke the news to individuals within the pomade community they seem as equally confused. The whole story changed when I used the SEA version for the first time and as my first Brylcreem and I could tell immediately that something was wrong.
Interesting, that would explain the old looking tubs I sometimes see images of. I was surprised Kathmandu had the Indonesian version, because I always see all black pots of brylcreem "Protect" on Amazon saying made by Hindustan Unilever, Haridwar, Uttarakhand, India, like the Hairfall, Dandruff, Shine, Dri-Damage Protect and I thought they would have those. The Indo AD I have is green pot, blue colored cream, the Australia AD is blue pot, and they all have white cream. Then there's a bunch on amazon I've never seen before, like gels, waxes and gel creams. Seems every country does their own thing. All made by Unilever though, except USA which is Combe. You would think Unilever would make the formulas the same throughout the world. FYI if anyone's interested you can see pictures of the Indo bryl I put on usa amazon, search for "B00VYW8P4Q" (ASIN)
dtimm612 There was an older Indonesian one from the 90s and 2000s that doesn't exist anymore called "Brylcreem Natural Styling Cream" in a black pot with a green leaf and smells like hair gel and it looks like a green gel. But it's the one Indonesian Brylcreem I really like (it's actually my first Brylcreem but not the "original cream") and its shine is much higher than the red aqua-oxy. I was just lucky enough to try it at my barber when i spooted a few pots, each with very little product left and those were probably the last pots surviving. What makes this Brylcreem different is that it is enriched with aloe vera.
Back in the 1960s, British TV showed an American TV ad: _"Brylcreem, a little dab'll do ya - Brylcreem, a little debonair - Brylcreem, the girls'll all pursue ya - they love to get their fingers in your hair!"_ ... Would girls still love to have their fingers lubricated that way? Back then, I hated my unruly curls, so slapped on Brylcreem trying to lay it down straight. I no longer have the hair, so Mother Nature solved the problem.
Humboles You can always use other products - clearly Brylcreem is too light of a hold to solve the problem. I’m a 50 year old male with long wavy hair and used brylcream all my life and I get compliments from people all the time! It’s the best and always will be.
I used this for a few weeks. I love the application but I didn’t like the fact that my hair felt greasy all day. Whenever I ran my hand over my head, my hand would be covered in grease and t just felt dirty. Now I use a water-based pomade on damp hair. It gives my hair a medium hold with no greasiness. I wanna try soft water pomade from Baxter of California.
Stephen Parkinson Yeah, Brylcreem isn't for everyone. Have you ever tried an unorthodox water based pomade? Non greasy and washes out easily but remains pliable throughout the whole day and not stiff. I can give some recommendations if you'd like.
Just a little advice. Yes, this product is on the greesy side, however it depends on how much of an application you use and the length of your hair. I have always said and it is after all written on the tube, A little dab will do ya, and that's exactly what your suppose to do, only use a very small application of this product in your hair. When using this product, you use just a small application with every other day hair washings and combing out your hair, this way, you will train your hair to the desired looks and effects that you want and desire. Some guys have extremely dry hair, lacking in natural oils and they can go through a tub of this stuff probably every three months, while other guys hair is normal which has the alread right kind of natural oils for both the scalp and for the hair, and in that case, a styling jel, again, a small application is best for their hair, and hair type make up.

TheWarPope That's pretty much Brylcreem for everyone, which is why it's 100% necessary to carry a comb with you if you are a Brylcreem user. It's not designed for hold. Hence 50s greasers constantly combing their hair.

Have you tried the English brylcreem gel cream? The container is red with a silver twist top. Basically like the og one but color swapped. I’ve didn’t tried it yet so I have no idea what the difference it is. I expect it to be a non hardening gel like groom & clean but Idk
If you want something more classic with the higher wet-sheen look then Tabac Hair Cream of Germany is similar and obviously has a light hold too but has a better hold than Brylcreem. Modern creams with a classic look and better hold are Lockhart's Hair Groom and Lockhart's Groom Cream. If you want a stronger product with a cream-like or creamy scoop, you should try looking at a type of unorthodox water based pomades called "cream pomades", which typically give a natural or medium sheen and not the greasy sheen of older hair creams. Some examples are Grim Grease cream, Flagship Cream Pomade, Nostalgic Grooming Cream, Grand Classics Cream Pomade, and Shear Revival Gray Ghost.
O yeah yeah Brylcreem is a 2-in-1 hair product - both a styling product and a leave-in-conditioner. So when the instructions say "rub through a small amount of Brylcreem to style and condition hair", that means you just style your hair with it as usual - the Brylcreem itself does the conditioning of course. It conditions as you style it, and as it sits in your hair all day.
Your Brylcreem is different from the one in this video - I reviewed the version that you use here, and it is very different: m.ua-cam.com/video/cJVkmYoeb9s/v-deo.html
Ardhzohal Bono It really depends on where you live. I currently live in the Netherlands and you can get it there in pretty much every drugstore and most supermakets, I imagine it would be the same for the UK.

@@pomadesandpompadours6309 Thanks. The reason I ask is because I have an interesting question for you. As a Muslim we are supposed to pray times a day. We must be in a state of wudu (ablution to do this). Wudu are actions using water to clean yourself. Wudu last about 24 hours but if you go to the toilet you have to preform wudu again at some point before you pray. One of the actions of wudu is masa of the head this is where you get some water in your hands and run it over your head. You need to make sure that the water reaches your roots however you don't need to wash your head like youre shampooing it. My question is what do you think is the best thing to do in terns of wearing a styling product for the day? I would literally have to be applying hair product a good few times in the day if I do wudu multiple times. I was thinking to wear the product after Zuhr pray (it's at about 1pm). That way I have already been to the bathroom multiple times and can wait to go to the bathroom when I get home after work (hypothetically if I waa working tgat is) and clean out the product then as I usually clean it out after a day out. Thoughts?
Eric Ott Haha I made a review on it which ended up becoming a rant. It's probably not as shitty as I made it to be, and others who don't prefer something too greasy may enjoy it. But I was being very subjective against it because I strongly stick to the principle that Brylcreem must be shiny, which Asian Brylcreem is not (there's a reason why it's called BRYLcreem).
@@princeicio Not glossy wet after 30 minutes or So. I guess it just give Some matt look after an Hour. No hold at all. Waste of money. I bought it to make a gloss to hair at least but Unfortunately it failed to keep that. Hair just falls after 30 minutes looks bad. Instead use a gel or pomade. Brylcreem is cheap also causes forehead acnes/breakouts. The product is designed good to attract everyone. Why would use a product which has no shine after half hour or so? Whats the purpose then. Nah I would not use that shit anymore. May be better products are available but brylcreem is not the one just a nice bullshit.
The shine will not go away during the day, if it does.. well than you'r doing something wrong, i think there is no hair product that can beat brylcreem in it's shine. The overall performance depends on your hairtype, if you have thick wavy hair that's trained to go into a pompadour, your blessed for this product. About the acne breakout, that veries from person to person. I don't have that issue

Nalu Windrummer Thanks man

Damp hair
During my primary school i use to wear this product until my secondary school
Any side effects of it???
@@anonymus9324 no. But if you are sweating the colour of your sweat is cream colour .
@@aaronmaurice7615 dude its summer season...and i sweat alot in it...Plus if it really gives a great shiny wet look then i'll buy it and then use it only on some special occassions like weddings, college functions or anything like that
Anyone else notice the formula is very watery and un-handleable nowadays
My nephew started eating this when I left it on the coffee table once he thought it was cream 😂😂
Oof I hope he was okay
@@pomadesandpompadours6309 Yeah he was ok I wasn't expecting him to eat it, brilliant review.
Can you use this Brylcreen as a Degreaser?
Does it help in hair growth?
Thanks
Great review I use it is great
SALIM86 I love it too!
I subscribed because the channel name made me laugh
Does it contain parabens cause I got mine yesterday and it contains parabens but in other pictures it said paraben free maybe I got a new formulation 😔😑
where do u live dude ?
Ivanoov - Currently Indonesia. I lived in Germany when I made this video.
Have you tried the English brylcreem gel cream? The container is red with a silver twist top. Basically like the og one but color swapped. I’ve didn’t tried it yet so I have no idea what the difference it is. I expect it to be a non hardening gel like groom & clean but Idk
Can you suggest a product that is similar to Brylcreem but also has a degree of lasting hold?
Hatecrime Hotline Would you also like the same level of shine and consistency? Or do you not mind a medium shine with a slightly thicker consistency?
@@pomadesandpompadours6309 My hair is very straight, so i would think that either of those options would be good.
@@pomadesandpompadours6309 Thank you kind sir.
Hatecrime Hotline No problem!
What does it mean when it says condition your hair in the instructions of how to use it
O yeah yeah Brylcreem is a 2-in-1 hair product - both a styling product and a leave-in-conditioner. So when the instructions say "rub through a small amount of Brylcreem to style and condition hair", that means you just style your hair with it as usual - the Brylcreem itself does the conditioning of course. It conditions as you style it, and as it sits in your hair all day.
Thank you!
Does Bryl Cream moisturise the scalp?
Zac Is the Pope catholic?
My grandpa used this stuff.
need shampoo to remove this cream or not???
Tanvir Ahmed Yes.
I use dryer to get rid of shine and after dryer it holdes my hair good for a day
Your Brylcreem is different from the one in this video - I reviewed the version that you use here, and it is very different: m.ua-cam.com/video/cJVkmYoeb9s/v-deo.html
its can hair fall?
Where do you buy brylcreem?
Ardhzohal Bono It really depends on where you live. I currently live in the Netherlands and you can get it there in pretty much every drugstore and most supermakets, I imagine it would be the same for the UK.
Bro in one of your videos you said you are Indonesian. Are you Muslim?
Shade On A Cool Day The Muslims are usually the native Indonesians - I am Chinese Indonesian and they're usually raised Christian or Buddhist. I was raised in the latter but personally am agnostic
Thoughts?
@@pomadesandpompadours6309 By the way sorry for saying that you look like a psycho. I've been watching your videos and you seem cool.
@@pomadesandpompadours6309 By the way can you answer the other questions I asked on your videos?
Does it work on curly hair ?
I tried it and it doesn’t help
"Nothing but cruel words" lmao it must really be shitty
Eric Ott Haha I made a review on it which ended up becoming a rant. It's probably not as shitty as I made it to be, and others who don't prefer something too greasy may enjoy it. But I was being very subjective against it because I strongly stick to the principle that Brylcreem must be shiny, which Asian Brylcreem is not (there's a reason why it's called BRYLcreem).
Squinty's Grease Reviews Yeah I watched it the other day (I've watched way too many of your videos) and I thought that was pretty funny
I use Trim.
I want this product
“It looks pretty greasy” so does ur hair bro
Absolutely, Brylcreem is indeed a greasy product for the greasy look.
Brylcreem is the worst pomade cause acne.
Imma girl and i use brylcream is that good?
I see why, you probably use it for its conditioning properties and maybe for anti-frizz
@@pomadesandpompadours6309 yes is it bad? My aunt is also used it but her hair was short.
@@tempsgashp6222 I don't think so, just do what you want.
Does Brylcreem clog up the sink in anyway?
Dominic Platt Pietrovito Not at all, I don't see how. It's water soluble.
Wonderful! Thanks!
Does it give a wet look
What does it look like to you?
Dude did use the whole product??🤣🤣🤣
For me Brylcreem is still the product of choice .
I thought you were American?
EpicMLKGamers Nope.
It's your accent, it really sounds American.
EpicMLKGamers I get that sometimes.
Está chingón el gel pero tú estás de la chingada :v
Right then bryl uk it is ^_^ cheers :3
Stop talking about his voice, very impolite.
