    I watched many videos about this theme, because I am very interested for that, and nobody, I repeat nobody, present it like Ben Willmore. Absolutely best teacher which goes deeply in every themes that he present. Great job again Ben.

    They call me Scooter Grams who loves street and theater photography. As a retired research librarian, I searched for over 5 years looking for a book or video that explains the Histogram and colors understandably. A few days ago I found this video. I need to watch it several more times to let it sink in, but what an amazing find! 1949 Polio Survivor, Scooter Grams! Thank you!

    This video is incredibly helpful! I've watched several videos that break down histograms, but none have been as thorough and informative as this one. Thank you!

    I thought I understood this before I watched your video, but WOW I have so much deeper understanding now. And I know why they call it white balance! Awesome!

    "What cyan ink does is that it absorbs red light... that's its sole purpose in life!" Haha, so well explained, thank you for a fantastic video!

    I like how instead of teaching us how to understand a multicolor histogram you just comment on the histogram

    Amazing video ! Thank you so much !
    Just a quick question, what does the height of the histogram represents ? The number of pixels ?

    • @DigitalMastery
      @DigitalMastery  2 роки тому

      Yup, you got it. High areas means there's lot of that stuff in the image whereas low areas means something that doesn't take up much space in the image. At least one line will always go to the top... that's whichever brightness level that takes up the most pixels... all other lines are compared to that.

    Really interesting. How does this relate to color correction

    • @DigitalMastery
      @DigitalMastery  2 роки тому

      Color correction is most frequently accomplished by finding areas that should be neutral gray and using them to figure out if the entire image is contaminated with a color cast. In the histogram, a neutral gray area would have the three histograms perfectly aligned which indicates a gray area. When those areas are out of alignment, then white balance can be used to balance them and it can improve the overall look of the image. It all depends in you can interpret the histogram to figure out which areas should be aligned.

    Hi Ben, I sent a message to support back in January but have not had a response. Sorry to post here, but I'm not on facebook and couldn't see how to send a private message on youtube. Please feel free to delete the comment after reading. Thanks. Laura

      Was it support@mastersacademy.com that you emailed? Also what was it about in general (youtube, masters academy, a course, etc?)

      Ha sorry, it was to ask about some private mentoring.

      @@lauraemerson413 I did receive that and put it in my "to review" folder. But that means, out of sight, out of mind. Just like the local Photoshop user who wants to take me out of lunch and not talk Photoshop. I'll put you on my todo list for this week in the hopes that it will prompt me to respond. Sorry about that.

      @@DigitalMastery Haha I'm sorry my request went into that category... not my intention at all. I'd never expect you to do this for free and asked for your rate towards the end of my email, but a shorter message would have been better. Lesson learned...! ;-)
