The golden combination of things that's made a huge difference with my trio of budgies is a backpack, fine mist sprayer, chopsticks, and the clicker! Because I live in an apartment complex there's less option for them to get out in the direct sunshine- until I got the backpack and target trained them on it! Now I can take them out into the courtyard garden or with me for a walk in the woods :) They also HATED bathing until I switched to a fine mist sprayer, now all three of them are pretty happy to bathe!
As a relatively new owner of a rescue macaw (since May) I am pleased to say I have most of this list thanks to all your good content. Your training stand is a MUST (I imported one to the UK). The only other things extra I would suggest for the list include extra stainless steel bowls and your training/guides. Thank you for everything you do ❤
I was actually really interested in the bird bagpack and thought that would be a good option to get my future budgies to the vet since i don't own a car. but when i asked in my local pet stores they informed me that those don't comply with the law and pet safety regulations (germany) I don't quite get it since it's not much different from the small carrier cages they offer. But they informed me since it's mesh it would be to easy for the bird to get tangled or break a wing if it tries to flap in such a backpack because of its size. I also tried to find some info from people who use those in german forums but most weren't to fond of the idea of a bird backpack. I mean i think it would be nice taking a budgie for short walks or in the garden to get some sunlight and maybe desensitized to the outside world in case they do escape someday so they won't be as easily startled when trying to retrieve them.
We use a 2 inch paint brush for the bottom of our conures cage, gets all the dirt out of the corners, and around the edges, as a jet washer isn't practical here, also a spray bottle with white vinegar and water, Baby wipes is a must also 😅
I used to spend hours cleaning the grilles. Now I don’t ever have to clean them hardly at all. I use brown paper on TOP of the grille. I cut a bunch every couple of weeks and use a pot lid organizer to keep my 3 sizes organized. I change to Thaler every couple of days and steam clean weekly.
problem is many birds like to chew on paper. lovebirds especially, they use it as nesting material. so depending on the bird, you really don't want them to have direct access to the paper
Fabulous list! I'd add a stack of metal food bowls that fit the holders in your cages. Even if you only have one bird, having many food bowls means you never get caught short because you forgot to run the dishwasher or whatever. (Guess how I figured that one out?). And then food plenty of food foraging toys!!
I would love to have a birdtree for my bird sometime. But for now he has a wood winerack sat up in the window (his favourite space) with some toys hanging from the roof, some on different spaces on the rack. Underneath I have cut an old curtain in two so easy to clean up.
Brandy new to birds for the most part. My friend has four birds. The Conure and the Macaw are my fav! They are friendly and even like to cuddle and give kissing. Green check Conures seem like the perfect first bird. The African Grey, uhg. She let's me hand feed her grapes, but if I put my hand near her without food, OUCH. The Red Breast GALAH, OMG. Super cute, but dealing with mutilation issues due to recent move. She is the only one who seems to be stressed out of the four birds. She is 20. Just be warned! BIRD VETS! $685 for a vet exam, cbc blood work, culture, and two antibiotics! That's a lot for one visit!!!
id love a back pack but near 200 is just crazy price. the one i have for my ringneck cost me £30 only. but unfortunately cant find one big enough for my alexandrine
I just moved after living in the same house for 6 years and had to chop all my birds food by hand because my food processor is packed😵(ofc it's seasonal feeding systems recipe too 😉 )
TY. Just saw this......really priceless. I've never thought of using steam cleaner...I a disabled and really that should help w cleaning chores. Also ordered your Mister ( one of my parrots hates showers). I also Wanted to ask if you have any ideas as to how to restrain of bird in order to do toe nails. I have difficulty with that since I use my hands otherwise for my chair, and wanted to know if there's a way of restraining them or wrapping them easily. I don't know if that's there's anything like that on the market. Please let me know if you have any ideas. Thank you.
I only have one tiny bird (Parrotlet) in a 36” flight cage. I bought some small plastic scrapers and every morning when I’m checking in on my bird I just scrape the poop off any perches and it falls to the bottom of the cage and everything looks so much tidier between full cleanings. (I should point out that my bird never goes to the bottom of his cage so the poop is safe there )
Hi I love your videos and I enjoy watching them Do you mind telling me what treat do you give to your macaws because I bought two blue yellow macaws, and I don’t know what treat should I give them to train them. Thanks
Aloha, will this Amazon product help me with the outside training cage? "VEVOR Baseball Batting Netting", I can't get access the one that you're suggesting. I might go for this model or build one myself "DWVO Baseball Batting Cage, 22x12x8"
What do you feel about a light fixture ones that have vitamin D in them for the birds themselves if they don’t get tons of daylight. Any recommendations on that? Just curious thanks in advance.
It can as long as it is dedicated for that purpose only. You don't want to also grind coffee in it as caffeine is not something you will want to expose your birds to.

I also have a budgie trio that live in an apartment! I have everything except the clicker and mist sprayer, I would like to get a mist sprayer though.
Props to Jamie for not being constantly distracted by cute little Olivia, I know I was, in a good way.
Olivia is ready for the camera today. The presence and head movements really shows that Olivia is participating. How cute...!!! 🥰🐦🦜
Love, love, love the birdie captions!

The paint brush idea is smart, I'll try to keep that in mind if I get birds in the future👌
Such a great idea! Thanks for sharing

Soo Much Informative ❤
I’ve been looking for a mister!!! I just ordered one from your site, can’t wait to try it out ❤
TY. Just saw this......really priceless. I've never thought of using steam cleaner...I a disabled and really that should help w cleaning chores. Chopsticks also make great tools for cleaning cages. It’s a non-invasive way to get the grate clean and it’s budget friendly.
That's a good idea!
Good idea!
Although I will say I believe birds (and just about every captive animal) should be target trained and your be cueing them the whole time
Amazing video!! Super helpful. Would love to see another comet video, or a video on baby birds!
I use peroxide for cleaning, I found that it works well on everything that needs to be clean and disinfectant.

Hi Jamieleigh, I can't seem to find a link for the Bird First Aid kit
Alright!! I have 26/27! Instead of the hotel food dispenser, I have dedicated, airtight food containers. So, I'm pretty close 😉
I love the first aide for birds i wish i had one
You can use cornflower instead of styptic powder you put one bleeding nails or feathers (also called corn starch)
Hi there quick question, what is aloe and what does it do for your bird?
very good🦜
I am a somewhat new blue and gold owner. What training course would you recommend for a beginner?
Good morning I need to know what air conditioner use
And this was the end of my brief Pet Bird obsession. Maybe someday!
Hi
I love your videos and I enjoy watching them
Do you mind telling me what treat do you give to your macaws because I bought two blue yellow macaws, and I don’t know what treat should I give them to train them. Thanks
Where does one find the tree stand, like the one behind you?

Have things improved at all?
What can I use to clean my carpet?
Do you think the coffee grinder would work on pellets too??
It can as long as it is dedicated for that purpose only. You don't want to also grind coffee in it as caffeine is not something you will want to expose your birds to.
Poetic water 10

❤
My wish list is:
Chop sticks
A clicker
Tree stand
Natural toys
Sprouter
Thanks so much 😊
Do you own Olivia?
Yes
I’m pretty sure she was a project bird but they kept her
Or someone couldn’t have her anymore so BirdTricks took her

I think (and hope) that more and more pople understand it's best to stay far away from amazon. A pity that you're promoting that sh...
It matters what you get. I’ve never had an issue and I actually have ordered car parts
Never buy from dangerous amazon!
