Spoonplugging 101: "Depth & Speed Control; You must control the depth and speed of your lure, or bait, at the same time in order to catch fish." Buck Perry. Even though you weren't using a spoonplug lure you were still practicing the old art of Spoonplugging. You did a great job in explaining the basic concept in your talk. Was fun to watch you net that fish even though it came off the hook.
MsPrincesspaulina You are correct in your reference to Buck Perry. While he doesn’t mention musky in the book many of the same concepts can be applied. Thank you for watching. It was a rough net job but luck was on my side. Happy Holidays and Good Luck Fishing
I kind of thought that you were talking about spoonplugging, without actually mentioning it by name., but I picked up on what you were getting at which is why I made that comment. Just to let you know that your message was getting out. Actually, Buck does make a couple of brief references to muskies in his Green Book. He talks about muskies and speed control saying something about them usually needing a faster speed than bass. But other than that, you're right he doesn't talk about them much. Yet as you also point out the same concept apply to muskies as to bass, or walleye, or any other species. Happy Holidays to you too
MsPrincesspaulina it’s a good read for any angler and certainly changes the way you think about fish and the way you approach it. Thank you again for watching
Awesome footage on the net! Crazy lol LSC was tough/slow jeff, but I did manage to catch one on a mag dawg 👊😁 weather was bad so didn't get a pic, was a smaller fish so we just released quick, but I will definitely b giving a shout out to TRO. Thanks again!!! And this was another great video!
Most of my fish are solo! I fish out of a kayak most of the time. It's definitely hard to net them yourself! I got a 49.5 yesterday and the net job wasn't pretty lol great video like always!
+Brady Martz Yes it can be a struggle. Clearly it was this time. Congratulations on the giant fish. Netting a fish that big solo is a great accomplishment by itself. I'm glad you're lucky enough to be fishing yet. We are getting hit with snow right now.
Most of my biggest skies have been solo as well. Seems like when I’m with a buddy I feel pressured to get him a fish. But solo my instincts take over and I’m more patient. Definitely have to improve my game 🎣
+Rob Simpson the thing I like about going solo is I can try new things and fish new areas and nobody is going to second guess what I’m doing or feel like I’m wasting their time. A more relaxing way to fish most of the time. Thank you for watching our videos
