Slider-crank mechanism for adjusting stroke position 1

  • Input: pink crankshaft.
    Output: blue slider linearly reciprocating.
    Turn yellow screw to alter length of the assembly conrod (yellow screw, green bush and violet nut) for adjusting stroke position of the blue slider.
    The violet nut is for fixing the conrod members together after adjusting.

    this doesn't change the stroke! If this was a internal combustion engine, it would only change the compression! The stroke remains the same.......

      @@thang010146 No it doesn't! The stroke refers to the throw of the crankshaft. If you have 35mm from centerline of the crankshaft to the centerline of the connecting rod. That equals a 70mm stroke! Changing the connecting rod length does not change the stroke! What you are doing is changing the length of the connecting rod. The stroke us still the same = 70 mm.
      Top dead center to bottom dead center is still 70mm no matter how long your connecting rod is..

      @@tonytee.1864 Yes. The stroke is not changed but its position is changed.
      For example:
      - Before adjustment the slider move from A to B. AB = 70 mm
      - After adjustment the slider moves from C to D. CD = 70 mm but CD is lower than AB.

      Possible but not good because this mechanism gives a same speed for both down and up strokes whle a slotter needs slow down stroke and quick up stroke.
