This video is what inspired my wife and I to travel to Santorini last year from New Zealand. We have stayed on all of the main tropical islands in the Pacific however our time in Santorini looking out to Skaros Rock each morning was magical.

This is an exquisite video, which brought back such wonderful memories of my stay there! I still cannot believe I was there! The most staggering beauty of this most beautiful place on Earth is the way the gorgeous cobalt blue sea and sky melted into one where you couldn't see the horizon. The richness of the color blue looked as if it were a painting and one would want to touch the sky to make sure it was really real! Words don't do justice to this most magnificent and MOST beautiful place on Earth!
Please, please do go there! I am glad I inspire you to go - that was my goal - to inspire people to go there, to not put off for tomorrow what you can do TODAY, you never know how things turn out in the future, and you don't want to live with regret. We really don't know how much time we have, so don't put it off any longer than feasible and go as soon as you can. Plus, it's still an active volcano and if it blows you would have missed out in seeing it! Find a way to go see it soon because things are here today but gone tomorrow (you can no longer sit on the Parthenon, but I did and I have a wonderful photo of me all by myself - had it all to myself!). For example, my favorite spot to sit in Venice to eat lunch is now under water. Now in order to go to the top of IL Duomo (cathedral) in Florence one has to wait a year and a day, but when I went there (12 different trips) I just walked in. It's just a matter of timing! There are far more restrictions everywhere now in Europe, so don't wait for there to be more. Go check out the exquisite colors of the changing sky during sunset while hearing bouzouki music and sipping on ouzo! Opa! Go, go as fast as you can!! Ciao, ciao!
parkash911 - It has been a year since I responded to your post and I'm wondering if you did go to Santorini? I hope you did because if you follow the news, the world has changed a lot, and not for the better, but Santorini is waiting for you and all others. Considering that it's still an active volcano (somewhat dormant for now), you don't know when it will erupt and Santorini will be no more. I hope you got to see it.

I be been visiting Santorini since I was a teenager!! The best Greek island in terms of view... The Caldera gives the feeling that you fly over the Aegean Sea!!! So much blue!!! And the energy is something else... It takes my breath away.. Very nice video, dreamy music, so many memories... I am waiting for August to visit her again.... For now I am watching your video again and again... Thank you for this...

Honestly there are better islands in Greece. Santorini is too touristy and crowded. I highly recommend Karpathos instead. It is my favorite Greek island by far. So wild and beautiful.

I was there in 1998 and it was incredible. I went there mainly to see the ruins in Akrotiri and the epicenter that possibly destroyed the So-called Minoans. It was my first trip to Greece, and I had a chance to meet relatives on my Greek half.

I've been to Santorini, and I wouldn't equate this style of music with such relaxing, tranquil, beautiful place. This music is more fitting for either neighboring, partying Mykonos or elsewhere, but NOT Santorini!!
