I've been driving a 2005 Grand Marquis for almost ten years, bought it used when it was about 5 years old. Sure I've driven a ton of miles and had to do some repairs here and there, but because of this car, when the time comes to buy another car, I will seek out other well kept Grand Marquis. Mine is still going strong, so it might be awhile yet.... it's like driving a couch. The last of the great American rear wheel drive V-8's. I swear by them.
I bought a used 2005 Ultimate LS with 89,000 on it in 2015 still my daily driver. It came with the premium package so it has factory dual exhaust and 3.27 gears. This platform with front struts rides amazing.
My current daily driver is a 1989 Lincoln Town Car. I am still in love with the smooth comfortable rides these kinds of cars offer. When the time comes for me to have to part with it, I'm going for one of these Grand Marquis for sure. I don't care what my coworkers say at the Toyota dealer.
In February of this year I purchased a 2007 Mercury Grand Marquis LS and is silver. 95,000 miles one owner, and all service records at the Ford/Mercury dealership every 3 months. This car also looks almost showroom. With the loaded features and beautiful leather seats. I really love this car.
I’ve got the same one. Silver Birch Ultimate LS. No fog lights though, started life as a rental. 95,000 miles, slowly replacing parts and restoring it to like new.
What a stunner👍👍👍 I've got a 2006 with 89,000 miles on it .. Purchased it about a year ago.. Same color exterior and interior ... however I'm running 18" factory mustang wheels.. Most comfortable car I have ever driven ( I'm 6'6" ) and like another person commented I will be keeping an eye out for another low mile Grand Marquis ... I love driving the GRANDPAMOBILE 😀👍
I love owning the last of the American V8 body on frame rear wheel drive sedans. I learned to drive on a 1985 Mercury Grand Marquis and now I own a 2011 Mercury Grand Marquis which I have passed down to my son. I hope one day I will be able to do a coyote swap on it!!!
I miss these cars so much they were reliable like Grand Marquis better than Town car they were bit reliable besides did like Lincolns only Mercury would prefer been the Grand Marquis thanks for posted this video.
The Ford Grand Marquis model Ford Crown Victoria is one of the most powerful cars and it is called the car of the rich and the poor Ford cars are sacred to Canada, America and the Gulf states, the number one Gulf
Not sure how to reset but the original code may be listed on a sticker along the inside of the trunk. If not, apparently you can find it along the front driver side window motor part behind the door paneling.
I got a 08 when you changed the oil it takes a few to pump it up any body out there know what making it do that you can hear the lifers knot I turn it off and start it again and it pumps it up somebody told me it’s a sensor on the transmission true or false any body know
Most of the 4.6L V-8's knock and have lifter noise for a few seconds after a cold start. (Meaning, after they've been sitting at least overnight, or longer). If that sound doesn't go away after 5 seconds at the most, have a dealer or trusted mechanic check the oil pressure. Worn engines might just be wearing out, at any mileage, due to excessive idling, not changing the oil regularly, or using a poor quality oil. However, perfectly healthy engines will make lifter and knocking sounds for 5 seconds or less after a cold start. It's just the way they are, I'm afraid. One thing I'd try is using either fully synthetic oil or a synthetic blend. The idea is that the synthetic oil molecules stick to the piston rings and cylinder walls longer, providing better cold start protection. It may not prevent the noise at start up though. Also, synthetic oils have an annoying tendency to find a way past seals and gaskets - meaning they leak at a higher rate out of older engines than conventional oils will. I've had two Grand Marquis in the past 15 years, a 2001 model and a 2005 model. I still drive the '05, and it makes the same knocking / lifter rattle that you hear in yours at startup. I don't remember if the '01 did. It's the same engine in both, with some minor modifications. One thing I DO NOT like about the 4.6L engine (and maybe the only thing I don't like) is the plastic intake manifold. In high heat or just over time, they warp, crack and generally fail. If you've ever smelled antifreeze and can not for the life of you find where it's leaking, it's likely the crossover tube at the rear of the intake, or one of the corners of the intake manifold warping up. This is particularly true of any engine that's ever overheated badly. Just stuff to think about, I hope some of it helps you out.
En esos años los autos eran vellos Y más fuertes ahora todos casi tienen la misma línea es decir son iguales y complicados con tanta pacotillas electrónica un verdadero dolor de cabeza
This is what happens when you have a fairly decent design to start with, and then make revisions over time to (try to) keep it up to date. I mean, let's be real, the last Grand Marquis of this generation was fairly close to the model that rolled off the line 21 YEARS earlier. Having said that, I own a Crown Victoria, and have owned it 4-5 years...or is it 6? In that time I have put about 80,000 miles on the odometer and perhaps because I try to do preventative maintenance on my cars, I haven't had any really huge expenses. With 175K showing, it is on the original "unopened" engine and transmission, it tracks down the road reasonably straight...so no funky wear patterns on the tires, brakes, or suspension, and incredibly....no squeaks or rattles aside from an occasional small "bang" that I believe is a sway bar bushing that needs replacing. The biggest downside to these cars is the fuel mileage. Mine averages 20-21MPG in mixed driving, with long trips it will hit 25 MPG, though with a V8 is that bad? The next worse downside is that the power output is borderline ridiculous. There are 4 cylinder sedans with more powerful engines, admittedly, with turbocharged engines. Heck, the V6 in a Mustang has more power than this car's V8. If you are going to buy one, skip a model like the featured car. If you are after luxury and image, get a Lincoln town car. But for a solid, long distance, high mileages example? Get the Grand Marquis but get the GS instead of the LS. Sure, it won't have the computerized temperature controls, but those controls can break more easily than the rotary dials of the lesser model. And like all used Fords, check the battery cables for corrosion before closing the deal.
?? Lol overall engine... reliability... power? You do realize the grand marquis and police crown vic's are the same car. Your stripped down p71 gets some extra oil and trans coolers .. stiff springs some stupid blue radiator hoses and that's it lol. This grand marquis is kinda like if your p71 had 15k in options lol.

I moved from Kuwait to UAE and I was surprised that panther based cars aren't as popular as they are in Kuwait and Saudi, I miss seeing them for sure
I drove a 2003 version and it was terrific!
It's a shame Mulally cancelled the Panther platform.
