This is one of those incidents where even if you're someone who's invested (emotionally or otherwise) in the Amico and been sold on the nostalgic idea of what it is, the alarm bells should still be going off for you. If a basic marketing move such as a deep dive can reveal something as amateurish as stolen assets (in a small scale production one screen tank game no less), at that point, it's not just the Emperor has no clothes. It's that the Emperor is streaking naked across the streets while possibly shouting about chip shortages.
The problem is they're not FOR Tommy or the Amico so much as they're AGAINST the "haters". That's why they can't be dissuaded. They don't need proof Tommy is right, they just need to prove when haters are wrong, even if it's the most tenuous victory. Even if they have to change to accept lies as a way to prove you wrong, because The Secret. Is the same way Qtards and the like work.
The "placeholder" comment further falls apart when you realise just how much tweaking they did to these images. If they were placeholders, why try to obfuscate the origins of the image? Why wouldn't it just be the actual image, maybe with a note on it that it's to be replaced at some point? Lies upon lies.
The Amico fans coming out with "they paid for the images!" just shows how their automatic response is to simply lie however they can to defend Tommy and the Amico. It's just bizarre, especially considering how old they all are.
That amico controller shell is gonna end up as the shell for knock off ball hair trimmers just like the Atari Jaguar shell eventually became a dental device thing.

Basically, "I'm so dumb, the onus is on you for giving me this contract, because no reasonable person could believe that I was capable of fulfilling it). Depends on the state, but Tommy has the requisite IQ below 85.
Why do these games all have "placeholder" assets in still? I thought the delay was purely down to Covid-related hardware shortages? Isn't that what they claimed? Why was it so jerky? It's as simple as it gets, yet runs like that. Still not optimised? How long does it have to go? Wasn't this thing supposed to release last year? We all know that was BS now if this is the state of these simple-ass games. Yet more evidence of the complete BS spouted by the Amico team.
There is no getting this stuff running smoothy. The Amico is using a low end mobile SOC that originally launched in 2015 that was never meant to do anything but run a basic android experience, not games. This IS optimized lol It's probably legitimately the smoothest they could get this thing running on the hardware available to them.
Here's my theory. No developers are getting paid, at least not on a consistent basis to work non-stop on these games. They are dragging their feet on everything to keep spending at a minimum and using a skeleton crew, not an assortment of developers working full-time for the company.
Let's keep it real. With the exception of Earthworth Jim, which mysteriously disappeared, every Amico game looks like a demo that isn't fleshed out enough to be a commercial product or a game that was already published years ago, like Evel Knievel. Even if everything goes according to plan for the Amico team, they have a half baked console without a real library of titles at launch.

For a family friendly console, is the term DeathMatch a good idea? How about naming a game Night Stalker? I get it was a game that came out in '82 but there was a serial Killer named The Night Stalker in the 90s.
It's really hard at this point not to think this is a scam, because the other option is that Tommy is just completelly incompetent and unable to do 1 thing right, it's hard! BTW, I don't know if you noticed but Tommy gave himself the title of "Chief Creative Officer" on that video, so in theory he SHOULD have known that those graphics were there, otherwise he is also incompetent as Chief creative officer... so sad.
As with the Streamlabs drama recently, placeholder graphics are fine and commonly used, that isn't the problem but Intellevision and Tommy don't seem to understand that using stolen graphics as those placeholder graphics is not standard.
Especially when these placeholder graphics were meant for a game that should have released several months ago and should have been worked on for 18 months.
Pat and Ian, thank you for the work you do. Looking at the comments and twitter and youtube under Intellivision, I just dont see how these people can be this blind and brainwashed.
It shows Tommy was secretly a genius with all the system delays and shipping physical copies that didn't contain any actual game code. It's a whole lot easier and cheaper (and safer) to address stolen assets when all you have to do is edit a UA-cam video.
I'm new here, and I love it. Pat sounds like he should be yelling about a bad Knicks trade, and Ian is everyone who ever taught me anything tech. I couldn't want better hosts.

The FAQ on the website says the console won’t be released until the first quarter of 2022. Does this mean it got delayed again or that only a select few will get theirs before the end of 2021?
Pat, you hit it right on the head. So far, only Night Stalker and Cloudy Mountain would pass the test of "Intellivision today". A bunch of the other stuff they have showed off look unappealing because there is no consistency or standard to tie it to the Amico as an Intellivision. They've had over two years to nail this down and set some kind of visual standards. If the system is not that powerful, lean into its pixel style games and make something bold for 2021. This doesn't deliver.
Maybe they should just hire Pat as an art director to help them out. Tommy could do some headhunting just based on these videos. I only fear that he would misunderstood the term and send an actual headhunter to get Pat and then Ian would be taken as a prisoner. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
Are crummy looking, asset-flipping rush job games allowed in the amico? If so then someone better give a ring to the Romine bros STAT, looks like Digital Homicide has found a console to call home.
Frankly I'm surprised the game didn't have a typo in the freaking title, "Battel Tanks" or "Tank Battel". I get the sense even if it did, defenders would claim everything was ok, this is so bush league. I really do feel bad for anyone who pre ordered this system, especially if they stopped following the developments that have been occurring. Those folks, they were really taken for a ride.
I guess this proves that even if they would have just focused on releasing these games on Switch or across all consoles that probably wouldn't have happened either.. money is moving here, where is it going and for what?
armor battle was one of intellivisions first ever games....came out a few years before triple action...it was just tank battle. this is contiuing that tradition
I find it funny that you all should mention Wii Play, because Wii Play not only was stylistically nice, but you get multiple games AND when it was new you got a Wiimote
As soon as you mentioned a more kid friendly style design, I was imagining tanks and parts of the world being built from something like Legos. That takes work though? Idk.
19 peeps at this point seem to dislike the uncomfortable truth that this is yet another scam. No one is going to line the sidewalk for this...if it ever sees the light of day.
Pat, it's Newgrounds, not "Newsgrounds".. Also the Gizmondo did come out, the staffs connection with the Swedish "Uppsala Mafia" surfaced just before its release which made it really difficult to sell (I believe it was quite expensive too).
Its like if Action 52 got an upgrade without the Cheetahmen and each game cost 10.99 or more lmao. Seriously, all they need to do, without Tommy's input, is take every single hit Intellivision had at the time, upgrade the graphics, and sell it as one giant pack. THEN, once that is out there, start releasing better games. Correct me if I'm wrong but every single console has done this. Mario wasn't the epitome of NES gaming by far, but it got you in. Launch titles are only there to draw you in and then the real games come later.
At this point in Tommy's career, the Amico is an All-Or-Nothing product and if it doesn't make back ALL the money that was spent, then Tommy would have to find a new job OUTSIDE the gaming community. . At this point, his image is gone darker, the stories were told, the evidence has been analyzed and the bare-minimum has been sold to make up the money that they still have if any. . Don't wish for the worst, but a realistic look on this tells me that after the Amico's been released (2023 it seems to this point), Tommy will disappear from the public eye. . .
He’s playing with other peoples’ money. There will be probably more due diligence if his own money was at stake here. He would’ve sold a car or some of his expensive collections to boot strap if the company meant more to him.
Despite all the vitriol surrounding the Amico, *I would laugh if either Ian or Pat end up with the console some time next year.* I can imagine the exclusive video now - a brutally honest review of both the hardware and its software. *I feel Pat and Ian should do this!*
i still dont understand who in the market is asking for quick and shit 5 minute worth of enjoyment games from 1980 besides mobile phone gamers who arent gonna be captured by the amico anyways
I did a let's play session of 'Fox n' Forests' last night and spent most of the session talking about the Amico. I went on to make a prediction on the consoles future. Now I await delay #4!!
The people that don't see this for the scam it is now are in to deep and are buying games/false promises in advance just to try and believe the false notion that this is a legitimate console from a legitimate company that sadly will leave them with allot of broken promises. For the people in this deep I feel bad for them as it really isn't going to go well.

At this rate, Mattel's Hyperscan will better than the people who bought the name of their first console.
No, obviously not! A tepid tank game struggling to maintain a solid 30 FPS is totally above a 7 on the Intellivision Quality Scale!
Can't wait to hear Voicemail Tommy chime in next week.
Everything can be solved with a pole. Did Tommy think he was Vince Russo for a second? lol
I hope Terence Talamanca gets some "legal incoming" himself.
Amico and Republic are proud to announce Amico's Republic of Gamers with access to exclusive World of Tanks content!
I'm really starting to think the Coleco Chameleon would have been the better investment...
I guess this proves that even if they would have just focused on releasing these games on Switch or across all consoles that probably wouldn't have happened either.. money is moving here, where is it going and for what?
These are becoming my favorite watches, Amico demos, Love it, keep it up!
I wonder how badly that having to reupload _four_ times tanked their video metrics?
it’s pretty sad & funny that tank battle literally looks like they took a game from 1979 or 1980 and literally did nothing to update the gameplay
armor battle was one of intellivisions first ever games....came out a few years before triple action...it was just tank battle.
this is contiuing that tradition
Derp
Feels like they're either trying to con either investors or government grants, because they aren't conning the players.
I find it funny that you all should mention Wii Play, because Wii Play not only was stylistically nice, but you get multiple games AND when it was new you got a Wiimote
Those aren't placeholder graphics. Placeholder graphics are basic text on a basic background.
More material for that future episode of "American Greed" about Tommy.
Can you guys make an Amico Saga playlist? Maybe one for the Coleco Chameleon too?
As soon as you mentioned a more kid friendly style design, I was imagining tanks and parts of the world being built from something like Legos. That takes work though? Idk.
The Saga continues
19 peeps at this point seem to dislike the uncomfortable truth that this is yet another scam. No one is going to line the sidewalk for this...if it ever sees the light of day.
Pat, it's Newgrounds, not "Newsgrounds".. Also the Gizmondo did come out, the staffs connection with the Swedish "Uppsala Mafia" surfaced just before its release which made it really difficult to sell (I believe it was quite expensive too).
War themed. Kinda violent. Doesn't seem very family friendly.
Been a long day boys, give me that venomous justice!
I am just wanting Earthworm Jim 4. That's majorly why I'm getting the system.
HAHAHAHA
Despite all the vitriol surrounding the Amico, *I would laugh if either Ian or Pat end up with the console some time next year.* I can imagine the exclusive video now - a brutally honest review of both the hardware and its software. *I feel Pat and Ian should do this!*
I see a video about Intellivision, I click it like my life depends on it.
I'll be sad when this saga ends.
We need more amico content on this channel. 😁
i still dont understand who in the market is asking for quick and shit 5 minute worth of enjoyment games from 1980 besides mobile phone gamers who arent gonna be captured by the amico anyways
I like to think I keep an eye on gaming stuff, but I've never heard of The Phantom before this video. Appreciate the excuse to learn something new!
I did a let's play session of 'Fox n' Forests' last night and spent most of the session talking about the Amico. I went on to make a prediction on the consoles future. Now I await delay #4!!
Can you call it another delay if they won't give an actual release date other then ASAP?
@@Rando1975 Good Point!
I just ordered a switch, I'm excited havn't owned a Nintendo console since teh N64. I pick it up monday.
The switch is Boring and old.
@@thegamelibrarian1681 Ok
@@thegamelibrarian1681 And the solution to that is recycled flash games played on seven year old budget cellphone chips?
@@thegamelibrarian1681 you can't actually be that stupid
Return Fire that came out on 3DO in 1995 kills this.
That game is incredible.
I wonder if this would end up like Star Citizen.
I miss BattleTanx.
The people that don't see this for the scam it is now are in to deep and are buying games/false promises in advance just to try and believe the false notion that this is a legitimate console from a legitimate company that sadly will leave them with allot of broken promises. For the people in this deep I feel bad for them as it really isn't going to go well.
Best soap opera I've ever watched 🙂 But as u say, someone has to call out these charlatans
