Hello Mamas!
The baby onesie is the quintessential newborn clothing item, but how do you get it over a wiggly baby’s head? It can be trickier to get on than the side snap t-shirt. I made this little video to show you how to dress your baby!
How to Dress a Newborn
A baby onesie is basically a cotton leotard that goes over the head and snaps at the crotch. It is a staple for young babies that you will put under clothes and pajamas so that the baby stays nice and cozy. Keep watching my video as I demonstration dressing your baby in a onesie with my little one, Marielle!
Did you use a lot of onesies? Under clothes? As summer outfits? Share your thoughts below and thanks for watching!

You made my day too!!! I have gained so much from your videos that I don't think I could find anywhere else. I am having my baby in a foreign country and have no family around to teach me, but even if I had family I would still love your videos!
You made my day!! LMK if there's anything I can help with as you get ready for your baby! Excited for you!
Hi bodetlove!! Yes, newborns can definitely wear onesies. However, before the umbilical cord falls off, I think the side snap tee shirt is much easier -- then it is not tight on that area and you don't have to worry about pulling it over the head. Good luck with your baby! xo M
Thank you so much. This helped a lot. Was having a hard time putting on my baby's onesie
I want to watch all 316 videos of yours before baby comes. You really are wonderful!
hi. thats an easy way.. thanks a ton.. as a first mom i would like to know easy way for rompers too.. plz suggest me if u have a video on it.. tia..
yes! in meantime, watch my video crib from day 1!
Thanks Dad! Happy that you are watching!
Thank you so much ... It's really helpful 😊
Thank you for sharing 👏👏👏👏
We were about to give all our onesies away because we couldn't figure out how to put them on without our baby's head getting trapped. Thanks for the video - you make it look easy.
If we could start over, we would have only bought snap-button one piece jumpers with snaps for both legs
Can you do a video on sleep training
thank you
Welcome!
Aww this is so cute
I sewed a "sun suit" for a newborn...sorta sleeveless rompersSeveral people are calling it a "onesie"...not the case...no sleeves.
Thank you !!! What country?? hang in there, you will do great!
What is with the envelope parts?
If you fold those over they turn into a mitten 😊
Fcch
Thanks for the video, it helps a ton when mommy is sleeping and daddy hasn't had a chance to learn how to dress a baby.
I got only 3 onsies for now will buy more before my baby comes!
I do think this was a good video, however I agree this is NOT a newborn who is sensitive around the cranial area.
ur baby is so cute!
That's one big baby.
Neo well you don't know how old she is
Thank you -- I certainly think she's a cutie:)
Great feeb
I'm surprised your baby would fit in her onesie for 7 years
I think she has a full diaper
If only you can harness energy just by using a baby's wriggling movements.
Over the shoulders.
+Mark Greenwood so you can also pull it up, from her legs up. :) The "envelope" shoulders make it open wide enough to pull up past hips/diaper. My baby would freak putting it over her head so I just gave up and pulled everything up .
No silly that's in case they shit themselves.
