I really like her Darker Shade of Magic series and I'm interested in this one :) after watching your review I'm 100% sure to read it :)

I am very poorly read, as you know 😅 But my favourite witch books would be the Tiffany Aching series and Adie Hart's A Pea Ever After! (I was also addicted to a series called T*Witches as a kid, which was about teenage witch twins. I cannot bring myself to re-read it because I know it will be terrible 😂) xxxxx

Totally agree, I read The Near Witch after loving some of V.E. Schwab's later stuff (mostly Vicious/Darker Shades) and it fell a bit flat for me too. The romance was dull and unbelievable, but I did like the folklore element. Most of the character felt very 'stock' to me too.
