A masking fluid that works very well is the Drawing Gum by Pebeo. It's tinted blue and I have been using it for years now with no issues with staining, I know that you mostly use HP paper where I mostly use CP. I've left masking on paintings for literally weeks with no issue of removing or staining, but I have also tested a few brands that have stained my paper so...I really understand your apprehension.
I recommend a ruling pen for applying masking fluid on *really* fine details. It can go down to hairline width, and it's very easy to clean because the dry gum just peels off. I use only the untinted/off-white masking fluid, and recently it stained my paper yellow after using a hairdryer on the paint around it. (I removed it within an hour of applying it.) Thankfully it's not so noticeable in the final painting, but I was quite surprised at first because I never had that happen before. Perhaps my other papers were more natural white, and it's more pronounced on bright white.
I had the daniel smith masking fluid, and had problems with it not coming off, even if I removed it within the 24 hrs recommended. I finally got rid of it and tried a molotow blue tinted masking fluid pen and it's been working way better. I heard somekne else tell hiw they had the same problem with daniel smith masking fluid, so maybe that brand just isn't great and it's not me 😂
Still watching. I didn't/don't like masking fluid either it kept getting stuck and tore my paper and if not applied evenly it can be difficult to remove but I think in my case I may not have been using it properly perhaps some day I'll give it another go. by the way Love! the peice, I hope you keep prints in shop into the future my gosh it's a beautiful peice❤️✨
This piece is gorgeous! I love the hazy trees and the mist on the ground. Out of curiosity, what surface are you painting on? It doesn't look like stretched paper. I've had issues where I don't stretch my paper properly and then it warps and the paint leaks through the mask.
I've learned so much by just watching you. I know you're very busy but I'll ask... Would you ever consider doing a "how I got started" video as you paint? Maybe you already have already done it and I haven't seen it, so I'll check. But I thought it asking. 😅 Also, I'm that person who used her embossing tool on the masking fluid and wondered why my drawing was already tinted blue lol...
I had Pebeo masking fluid. It stinks, tears my sketchbook paper so I didn't risk to use it on my good paper and now I checked it and it became very thick so I threw it away.

I was gonna suggest this one too, since it's blue.
