- The music used for the interval & clock here are two pieces by Johnny Pearson called Flower Sequence and Sunny Woodland.
After Junior Maths, there is an Independent Television caption which I think may have been due to industrial action, meaning the next scheduled schools programme wasn't shown! The first piece of music here (at 3'40") is The Falcon by Martin Kershaw. At 3'54" the caption has been modified with "12:00 Cartoon Time" which may have been done locally at Tyne Tees, as I recall!

This dates from Monday 29th October 1984. The reason for the caption at the end and the rogue appearance of the full length 'Falcon' track is due to the Thames Television strike. Captions and music networked by Central replaced programmes made by Thames which couldn't be shown, hence the gap between Junior Maths (ending at 11.35) and children's programmes at 12 noon. The French Programme was scheduled to be shown at 11.39 but dropped.
Thanks very much for the extra details! No French Programme? - Quel dommage!
I was fourteen and at senior school then. The music is Johnny Pearson (of Herriot fame) and weren't they actually used in All Creatures Great and Small?
I like the Autumn Term 1982/4 music.
There's some recycling of previous terms music going on at the end, with both Tennessee Railroad (or Falcon) and Martin's Rag (or Cravat) from Spring Term 1982 being used, albeit using what sounds like the complete tracks rather than the edits used in that term.
Furthermore, Cartoon Time itself was a replacement programme due to the strike.
The Johnny Pearson tracks are sublime , as is the LP they are taken from ("The Magic Of Life", with Duncan Lamont on one side)
Gary Terzza doing the continuity link before Junior Maths.
Gary has a lovely voice.
And a personality to match when he teamed up with Debbie Shore on CITV in the late 80's.
