Basically, it was a really nice news bureau. They would front stories with a downtown or a City of Miami connection from there. It was also a place where crews could write, edit and feed from. If I recall correctly, they would often have the anchors do the news there on Fridays -- "Fridays Live," I think they used to call it. For the most part, though, it was just an office for the news crews (like the former Braoward bureau).
