I hope after you send this, we see a reappearance of Gollum. He’s been missed.
I love that climbing has progressed to the point that people are using V11 footage as b-roll background video while they talk about their main project. Super strong man. And the big island looks like a lot of fun.
Love this style of video. Super laid back and relaxing but also you're really trying hard and sharing your technical progression as you go. Hope to see more of this kind of video if you like making them!
Nice mate! I think I’ll do more of them, they’re much easier to produce (like 1/10th the time) as some of my other videos, and as long as people still enjoy them it’s a nice trade-off. I’ll do a bit of both though, as a I enjoy making the high-effort videos a lot :-)
@@EmilAbrahamsson It's good to see the effort going in, as it's relative to whatever grade people climb in many ways and also inspiring. Best of luck from jealous in England :)
really love this kinds of videos!! just you talking to the camera about the beta micro-beta and all of those stuff seeing you struggle is kinda in an odd way inspiring even though you dont succceed you always get something more out of the climb! keep up the good work Emil, love your videos!!
Honestly, the light makes it look like peak conditions. Great how this video feels and, ofc, stoked as always to see you climbing !
Haha yeah I really can’t complain about the conditions, they were pretty great. I was expecting it to be a lot more humid, hence my skin treatment 😅 lesson learned, next session I’ll be primed!
loved this "raw" format, more like this pls
Keep on grinding bro! Your "fight for progression" videos are the most enjoyable (at least for me).
I love how positive he remains after every fall. He falls and says, “ok! It’s good!…”
I was looking forward to this one :) Merry Christmas and thank you for 2023 content. You have been my biggest motivation this year and I think it's mostly thanks to you, that I've managed to reach my goals and raise my climbing level a lot this year. Your energy and love for the sport is incredibly inspiring.
That’s such a sick thing to read, thanks for the hype mate, really appreciate it
Was needing some more outdoor Emil content. My favorite videos.
I love the hard projecting comtent. I am just starting to enter a fase in my own climbing were real projecting is beginning and it is good to see someone so much stronger struggeling with the same things!
You absolute alien! Hope everyone appreciated the pound for poundness of this effort! Wow
Videos like this are my favorite. Keep it up, man.
Hi Emil, as someone that usually projects for hours. I sometimes find hard to explain the level of focus and why I stay so long at one spot. But it is all about those micro adjusments and learning. I enjoy this type of content a lot, I hope you share more!
i love this style of video! i hope for many more!
Dayum this shit's cool, keep up the good work!
Good stuff. Cool that you posts these projecting videos. Good reminder that everyone need to fight to when you`re trying at your max level. Also nice to see progress and how you remain positive after multiple attempts. This will go for sure! Keep pushing!
You're such a boss Emil! I hope I can climb with you one day. Love from the Netherlands ❤
Hey Emil, could you add timestamps to a session like this in the future? This would give us a sense on how long a session like this takes and how much rest you take in between attempts.
Thanks!
I love how you celebrate small learning experiences when you're climbing rather than just getting frustrated by similar-looking attempts. I can see how this is smart and makes the whole experience better!
Love watching you session famous boulders 👌
Wow, this makes me so excited to get out and project! Thanks, and merry Christmas! 😊
Let's go Emil! I know that you can send this boulder. Keep that positive attitude and remember you're capable of so much more than it seems like in any given moment.
Dude I don't even know you but I am happy to see your progress, I watched all of your Big Island vlogs and the progression is very significant. :)
duuuuuuude this has me so stoked (the color work on this video is incredible by the way)
Such a magical fantastic video!
Amazing to see you back on this again!
I need more of this video want to see you climb this bro
Keep working on your dreams Emil! You will get it one day! Your body is already adapting to make this a reality!
i love how you have the dog there, just relaxing and watching you. the dog is probably just thinking.. how amazing is this? what kind of sorcery is this?
Not a lot of good day in the forest since november... I hope you did try again today it was pretty good!
Looking good!
Outdoor content is my favorite content. Bonus points for it being Font, because I have many good memories myself.
Fantastic❤️
Immediate like. Love this style of video
This looks and sounds very similar to when I project at my limit, just way harder 😂
Good luck 🍀
this is a sick update!
LETS GO hoping you got it but I have to watch the video. Merry Christmas 🎄
(Realized it was just the footage for the instagram update)
How many sizes under do you go on the Mad Rock Drone’s? Also are you running the Drone CS model?
Awesome session. Love seeing the process- how long are you resting between these attempts ?
Just two more attempts.. four more attempts.. just one more attempt.. before my last four-teen attempts..
Love it!
It somehow feels like you've filmed this after sending the boulder and making a small video apetizer to prepare for the big drop.
On fridge hug, bring left foot across right to toe hook, then right foot up above right hand to heel hook ?
great video !
so psyched
Lets goo buddy
the dog: "what hooman doing?"
your journey on the big island is going to be some of the best climbing journey footage of alll time - i really mean that.
Like i can't wit to go back and watch all of it together. I'm pretty sure that i ran around my house excited after one of the videos a few years ago. You have a lot of people psyched on this journey with you and its just because you are so wholesome and positive. Great stuff and really cool to see someone arrive at the top level of the sport who started out just like the rest of us - just hanging out and enjoying climbing at the gym!
Seems like maybe that right foot smear thing isn't taking enough weight on the last move you were trying? I assume double heels is too wide? Obviously I'm just speculating blindly here lol
You’re right on both ends. It’s really hard to get the toe to take the weight when you climb in to it for some reason
How much do you resto from one try to another?
Rocking the drones og or 2.0's?
A bit of both! Generally speaking I use the 2.0s, but sometime I find the old ones work as well or slightly better, so I usually bring a pair to compare
Could you share you protocol for using antihydral?
It’s very individual, but I tape where you bend your finger and lather I all over around once per week! Some people feel even just a bit on the tips is too much though, so trial and error is key
DID YOU SEND YET?!
🎉🙌🤟🏝️
gg Emil
why am i getting sam sulek vibes from this video? :D
Haha funny you should say that. When I edited it it wasn’t intentional, but once I’d exported it and rewatched I had the same thought
Loved the video and really don't want to be a downer here but it's just not cool to climb at night in Font and it says so in every guidebook...you even mention it yet you're still outside when it's completely dark (or at least the footage makes it out to be so). We all know how hard it is to let go when you're making progress in a session but a lot of people will be watching this and may do the same and also climb at night. So just stick to the rules I guess. We don't need another climbing area being shut down. I hope this does not come across as condescending or anything and if so it's not supposed to be. Love and peace!
Totally fair and I appreciate the comment.
The footage makes it out to look a lot darker outside than it is (the last frame before the lights are out is how it looks with them off, that’s shot a minute earlier). I certainly don’t want to endorse it, and can only hope people listened to what I said about climbing at night, rather than how it looks
@@EmilAbrahamssonwould love to see a "how to behave outdoors" from you. With your audience, you can make a great positive impact on many people.
NDL
Psyched
How can you still not pronounce Fontainebleau...
To be fair, I’ve never met a person in my life (whose not from Sweden) that pronounced my name correctly, I think us swedes should have a pass on pronunciation in other languages 😅
@@EmilAbrahamsson
Would it help or just be more confusing if I told you that it's pronounced more like "fontän blå"?
Also fun facts you may or may not already probably know but I will insist to tell you:
- You pronounce it like the word-for-word french translation of those two words, "fontaine bleu", meaning "blue fountain", which is also kinda cool
- The name of the place however, doesn't mean "blue fountain", but rather "beautiful water fountain", which in its unshortened version would be "fontaine belle eau" in french
I dont really like the tiktok format where you show a send video while explaining something. Id prefer to see the whole thing and give it my attention.
Is it wise to keep throwing yourself at it all day long while progressively getting weaker and weaker and weaker? Save some attempts man 😂
bro just use ur nails, can hang better
Heyo all!
I'm currently in Fontainebleau, and wanted to post a sort of "update" with how things are going here. This video is maybe a bit unusual compared to many things i've posted lately, but I hope you all enjoy it nonetheless!
Cheers homies
Yo thank you for uploading some outdoor climbing! Cheers to you and the whole crew.
This is my fav kind of vid honestly... trying hard probs outdoors. Keep at it!
I was at Coquibus Rumont on the 24th to climb, I saw a van arrive on the parking lot and I said to myself imagine it's Emil, it's incredible. Spoiler I turned around it was you but I didn't want to disturb you and cordi!
Enjoy your trip :)
I'm trying to get a movement for pro climber to pronounce Fontainebleau better. In French "eau" is pronounced "O", similarly to the short Swedish "O" or the English "O".
I love that you brought up the topic of not climbing at night. You are a role model for many and it's great to see you bring attention to outdoor etiquette. Something more world class climbers should do. Also: Impressive progress!
