  • This is video footage of First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton speaking at Seneca Falls. The event marked the 150th anniversary of the first women's rights convention in the United States, held in July 1948, and often referenced as the "birthplace of women's rights."
As the White House Television Unit followed the President exclusively during the Clinton administration, we were initially unaware of any footage of the First Lady speaking at Seneca Falls in our archive as the President did not attend this event. This material was located within a staffer's files and is provided here for its historical value in regard to the duties of the First Lady along with its importance as a milestone anniversary for women's rights.
