Are you using a capacitor or a ribbon mic when recording? If you get a capacitor with a 'figure 8' pick up and adjust the distance it can make ,it seem quieter without loosing much of the acoustics special ring to it... Unless your problem is computer wise I'm not sure how to help! I only listened so much on my college course! XD
