    Good Stuff! Scouting and formulating a plan before season even starts is the greatest move a hunter can do!

    Just from a majority of other hunting videos everyone says they don’t move with the wind, and I started changing my tactics thinking deer won’t come down with the wind on their back

    On the kill sit on the first hun example, since y’all are accessing up the drainage below him, are you going in late evening to keep thermals from pulling up the hill to the bed? Great job on the videos

    Jake you should be running a school on this stuff. Take people willing to pay out and do exactly this. Appreciate the free videos though… will we be able to watch videos of you guys hunting these exact spots this fall?

    I really enjoy your videos, keep it up!!! Question for you, have you figured out a way to format your SD card on the Wildview cameras that your using? The manual doesnt say how.

    Can you explain your two different maps of the hub area at the 9:00 to 9:40 mark? I was following along and then I got confused. The first map Jake is at 1100-1200 feet elevation and the 2nd he's at 700-800 feet elevation. Did you guys drive to another area? Jake is making it sound like that's all the same hub system but based on the map its different.

    @jake-bush hey I hunt some really steep terrain in lawrence county Kentucky. The drain i hunt has 5 or 6 big fingers running off the side of it, like micro ridges with small drainages between, that drain down into grass bottoms that deer feed all night!! Would you rather hunt the points, or would you hunt where all the points meet down in the creek bed at the head of the drainage?? They are tracks, rubs, scrapes, beds, all over the sides of the points and fingers!!

  • @ChipsOutdoorChannel
    @ChipsOutdoorChannel Рік тому

    It looks like you need a wind from the east to get thru that hub, particularly on an evening hunt when thermals are rising. Maybe I missed it, but do you plan to hunt the western-most beds first or are you basing it off your trail cam pictures of the buck activity when you get in there to hunt? From my experience in KY hunting rolling hills that maybe aren't quite as steep, buck tend to bounce around beds making it real hard to predict which they'll be using.

    I hunt Eastern KY and man finding deer is a challenge. Where I hunt deer population is high but density is very low due to all the vast terrain and it will put hair on your chest hiking these hills

    You guys really think mature deer use the same beds all the time??? You’re acting like you find one bed and you are confident he will be in it the one day you go hunt him.. that’s ridiculous with a wild animal and all the variables. But hey good luck!

    • @jake-bush
      @jake-bush Рік тому +2

      It’s definitely far from a guarantee as it is a wild animal. But verifying wind based bedding in relation to a specific food source and a hub scrape in early season is about the best chance I can give myself. There are a ton of external factors that can change on the fly. And at the end of the day it is a wild animal. But it gives me enough confidence to take a shot at that bed if those scrapes are hot and the food source is hot when we go in there. At the end of the day find confidence in what you believe in and trust it. Good luck this fall!

      Hey man! I’m far from an expert. But what I will say is I’ve hunted Ohio public land for 4 years since moving here. Of those 4 years I’ve killed Two Boone and crocket deer in the first 2 days of season in hubs that set up a lot like this. The 3rd year I killed a 140 class buck mid November, and last year I never found a good one to chase. So as of right now I guess I’m at 50% success killing a public land Boone and crocket deer in the first two days of season. The only reason we are even putting this information out there is to help people that have asked questions in the past. It’s far from the end all be all answer. But hopefully it’s something that someone can add to their bag of tricks. If it helps one hunter be successful this fall this show is a success in my eyes. Good luck this season.

      Awesome man. Iv killed 1 public land boone and crocket in ohio. Iv hunted 10 days a year there for about 7 years. Last 2 years have been duds in ohio for me so this coming year im going to new area in ohio that i scouted in feb. Good luck this year. I found your channel and subcribed. Nice kansas hunt . Im. Going kansas next year. Hunted there 2 years. Back in mid 90s. Hoping i can find an area that isn't hammered by nonresidents
