I had so many of these as a kid. Almost makes me weep for the innocence of childhood.
I love these old Kenner commercials! Granted I never grew up with them but watching them and comparing them to more recent commercials, I just love them to bits!!!!
My Grandparents must of gone to every Toys R Us in South Wales trying find a shop that had the Proton Pack in stock so they could buy me it for Christmas back in the day. Those were the days
Aw, they loved you so much! I am not a huge kid person myself, but my sister's kids love imaginext stuff and I always spoil the living crap outta them.
I had the proton pack in like 1989 I remember playing with that and the trap. You'd step on the piece and it'd send air through a tube to open the trap. It was awesome
And all you kids out there the Internet didn’t exist back then so you can’t just order stuff online

I love how Winston isn't even acknowledged in some of the commercials lol
What's worse is Ernie Hudson was the only actor from the film that auditioned to voice his character in the cartoon. We know he didn't get the part as that role went to Arsenio Hall.

The real Ghostbusters were probably my favorite toy line from the 80s-90s... Either that or tmnt. But I think Ghostbusters takes it by a little bit.

I had nearly every single one. The only ones I was missing was the Slimer-with-Proton Pack (Non-Ecto Plasm Version) and the plush Slimer. Almost 40, and I still have plush Stay Puft. All the rest are long broken, but thoroughly played with before their demise.

Yep, been on my pc all day yesterday waiting for walmart to put them up for pre-order, but now I don't know what is going on with it now. They've been removed from their site.
My local Walmart had like, all of them. But I'm 35 fucking years old, so I bought the complete set of the plasma series figures instead. Gotta have priorities!

The Super Fright Features figures were a slightly larger scale than the original figures and the first Fright Features range. Which meant they could only be used with Ecto 3 (which was to their size) as they didn't fit in Ecto 1 or 2.

Awesome compilation thanks for this. Bringing back some of my favorite memories with all of my Real Ghostbusters toys. Nice touch with the Filmation Ghostbusters toy ad at the end lol...They don't get as much love but they had a great short-lived toy line. The figures were awesome. Just subbed! :)

Look out kids, Janine got pointy glasses. Pretty cool toys. As a kid I loved toys that could change forms in someway and with those you can use them as people and ghosts/monsters in a swtich. Love the commercials with the animated versions.
Being born mid 80's, I do remember seeing the Ghostbusters toys about 1989-1990 in the shops. I had quite a few of them myself, fondly remember the possessed toilet toy lol

I think I can remember everyone I had lol Original 4 (Egon, ray & Winston), all 4 scared ghostbusters & janine and orange & purple snapping shosts, screaming peter and winston, some slime, Ecto 1 & 2 and the PKE Meter, Trap & Proton Pack (that all went together - so cool!). Also the ecto popper and glasses. I was done collecting these when Luis was introduced. I wanted the firehouse SO bad...also had the bg master system and genesis games. Along with batman - my fav games for genisys. Also had the ghostblasters from hardees lol Loved the hi-c and and ate the pasta all the time for school lunch lol Greatest movie of the 80's!

I remember being a kid when these ads where on and thinking "Man I wish they would make more ghosts that appeared on the cartoon and make less increasingly ridiculous versions of the Ghostbusters and their crap gimmick cars."
Agreed! The thing was, with a franchise like Ghostbusters, you'd think the people making action figures would have had free rein to make a bunch of super awesome ghost figures and it seems like the majority was spent on either cars or the actual ghostbusters. And most of the gimmicks weren't very good either.
Yeah why no boogyman or samhain or sandman or killerwatt or ghosts like that????

Hasbro released a new Kenner Classics line, and they even recreated the original backer cards. I just picked up Ray and Winston from Walmart today. They look legit original!

Ghostbusters and WWF action figures where the greatest toys ever.
After 30 minutes, I now know that they are each sold separately and that the batteries are not include. No joke, but I had almost all the first generation of ghostbusters in the 80s and a few from the 2nd generation. Had the car too, but not the secretary, she is worth the most these days.
Mick Smiley's Magic is a good song. Arsenio Hall was the voice of Winston in the cartoon.

The Hook and Ladder Firehouse is a real place in Manhattan, New York. I thought it was a giant set built for the 1984 film.

I remember when these came out in 86 - they FLEW off the shelves. The figures sold out everywhere...but the ghosts. Those rotted well into the 3rd series of ghosbusters figs lol Even Janine finally came out that toilet ghost was still on shelves lol I always thought they were stupid and had they used ghosts from THE SHOW they would have sold better (and been cooler). I wanted Boogyman & Sam Hain for example...

I still have the original staypuft figure. Basically a hollow plastic doll. My first GB toy. I adored it for my entire childhood from 6 years old. My mom who is deeply religeous always hassled my dad when he would buy me another GB toy. She absolutely forbade some of them. Too ugly. Lol. Now I am completely immersed in the macabre, the occult, and the supernatural due to my schizophrenic upbringing! Sorry Mom. Thanks Dad.
That 30-second cereal commercial (the Slimer one) is the only time I’ve seen Slimer and Mooglie onscreen at the same time. By the way, yes, that’s his name.

I'm in the process of building a working 1:1 scale equipment set but instead of doing the movie equipment like everyone else already has, I'm doing the RGB set instead. I have a haslabs neutrona wand, the pack is coming this summer and I built a working trap awhile ago

Look at all those ghost that never appeared on the show, and there's so many promo and series ghost that never made it to the toy line, cause they just wanted to keep making variants of the guys. :l
Tell me about it lol. It's criminal we never got a Boogeyman, Grendel, Sandman, Ghost Family or a Samhein until the Extreme GB line....ironically when he didn't even appear on that show lol. Not to mention out of all the little ghosts packed with the Ghostbusters not one of them was ever a smaller Slimer figure in scale to everyone else like on the show. He was always made as a huge figure.

Nope, just the way the patch was handmade. Look at the Ghostbusters 2 logo and you'll see the ring finger is under the thumb.

I'll give the figure makers credit, the screaming ones was pretty creative. I wonder what they did to make that sound effect? And are old played with figures now losing their voices?
