I don‘t think is helping either one. It’s THEIR cabin and Nick & Maëla build it together. Helping sounds like it’s someone’s project and this someone gets help for the project from the outside.
@@caroldroke4128 you're absolutely right and until you said that I guess I wasn't looking at it that way. Sometimes it takes someone like yourself to remind me that some couples do things together and what better way to build a strong relationship than build your home you'll have children, grandchildren and a lasting future in
Nick, so glad to see your arm is healing! You and Maela just have a way of making it work out and keep going. Maela, you're amazing! I love the way you two harness the resources around you. I always enjoy your vids! Glad you got to enjoy some time away but it looks like you're glad to be back and making progress on the Cabin.

As always, thank you so much for your kind words :) we’re hoping Nick’s arm will be pretty much back to normal in the next couple weeks!
Wow the skill with hand tools that Maela has developed is fanomana!!!😮 You go girl! Teach Nick some skills. He's a GOOD worker though. Gotta give him credit. He tries hard. Heal up soon Nick. Enjoy your cabin.

We’ve both learned so much since the beginning ahaha Thanks a lot, Carl :)
So glad to see that your arm is coming along nicely and that you had a nice time on your vacation. As you said, Maela is working extra hard while your arm heals. It’s nice to see that your tomatoes are coming along. Thank you for this wonderful video. Your fan from East Tennessee.
I’m so impressed that there’s never a harsh word! That is physically demanding and sometimes tedious work, but you co-operate and work so well together as equal partners in building this beautiful natural home! I’m with the lady who said it brings tears to her eyes to see young people working together so well, being so productive and literally building themselves a future together! ❤
So glad to see you healing up Nick. Soon you will forget you ever broke it. That is until you get to my age when all the injuries come back to say hello . . . usually in cold weather, Hahahaha. During this video I was reminded of my boyhood tree house and the fun I had hour upon hour building and improving it. I think that Maela has developed some pretty impressive skills during this cabin build, so fun to watch her work. especially enjoyed the nature shots and the scene of Nick watching the rain at the end, great stuff.
Рік тому+1
Thanks so much Dave! Yes there's nothing quite like a treehouse to build and play in as a kid growing up. We're definitely going to build one too in the future!
Really nice job on the railing! Obviously, based on the materials, it’s very natural looking. Another fine example of the craftsmanship you two create when you work together! Good to hear Nick’s arm is healing!
Doesn’t matter which one of you is at the helm, the craftsmanship is second to none. That is a beautiful Baluster. Very inspirational. Nice to see the tomatoes are ripening too. Sometimes a horse rasp is a nice addition to hand woodworking tools; very useful to smooth out a saddle notch. I get a ‘used’ rasp from our farrier from time to time. Cheers to both of you, and Peace, Michael

Thanks, Michael! We’ll look into that horse rasp you’re talking about :)
Great to hear that you’re healing well Nick. Maéla is a very capable and supportive partner so you’re a very lucky man indeed. What a wonderful pair you are. Sending the best of wishes to you both from Australia. 🇦🇺🦘👏🏻
I'm Indian Boy... beautiful nature. And beautiful work I like it. watching your all videos day and night. watting for watching your next video. ❤ Both are beautiful person.
Welcome back from your trip to Iceland. Hope it was an amazing holiday for you two. Glad to hear your arm is healing well Nick. Love to railing. Very nice addition to the cabin. Great video as always. Thank you for sharing with us.👍🇨🇦
Glad you both guys are doing okay and that your arm is fine. The rain bits in your videos are some of the most beatiful and relaxing moments a person can view on youtube, would you guys mind recording a prolonged rainy video at some point in the future? What the both of you have done is nothing short of incredible.
WHAT AN AMAZING PAIR OF PEOPLE. I am enjoying the videos immensely. What a great example is shown by these two young people. A great example to others, young or old.
You both are a great team. Brings tears to my eyes seeing what you guys are accomplishing when I see so many other young people just wasting away. You sir have one strong able wife.
Hi! You are not to use 'an' except for before a word that begins with a vowel! The sentence is designed to use 'an' and 'a' correctly for examples! Take care !
Maela you did a beautiful job making the banister and railings. Your helper was good too, even with an injured hand. lol. It looks more complete and neat. Great job.
I absolutely LOVE your cabin and how good of a job you're both doing, amazing... SO FAR the one thing I would have done different, is I would have made the roof of your patio also a floor for a loft patio, but to each their own!!!
Estou feliz em ver vcs de volta.. adoro ver seu trabalho lindo ..a cabana está ficando linda...boa recuperação no teu braço .. só pelo próximo vídeo.. abraços... Brasil 🇧🇷
I came across one of your videos and watched all of them. Im so impressed at how skilled you both are, being so young and building your own home. Your cabin is gorgeous and in a beautiful location. Sorry you broke your arm Nick, but pleased it is healing well and well done Maela (pretty name) for finishing off the work on your own. Great to hear you had a really good time in Iceland. x
Que bom velos estava sentido falta de vcs, ainda em que vc melhorou, espero em breve ver seus videos da viagem, obrigada por compartilhar até o próximo video
What amazing, determined, patient young couple you are. Young adults today dont have half that determination. I cant stop watching these videos. How Maela works so hard also and you get along so well. Im 58 years old Ive been a home builder over 30 years and i cant even find enough young people to work. I also helped build a log cabin about 20 years ago, we stripped the bark also by hand but we did use chainsaw for everything else and it was hard work. I cant say it enough you both are just amazing to watch and you will both do very well and make a great couple for many days to come. It shows that dreams do come true.
La sagesse est de bien soigner une fracture quitte a perdre un peu de temps , ça évite que la guérison traîne indéfiniment, alors un peu de patience et bon rétablissement 😊😊
Just watching your channel for the first time, seen a couple episodes. For safety sake, I recommend building a shave horse, it holds the wood while you debark the piece.
What a great adventure you're having together. Since you hurt your arm your wife is doing all the work now, you're a blessed man to have such a good partner that will get her hands dirty. I see how you're getting in touch with nature, that really adds to the video. Now it's time to catch some fish??!😊
You both look well, minuses the cast.I only wish I was younger, and didn't have a bad spinal cord, and waiting for surgery again. I would of loved to meet a lady like you did. I probably would of moved to northern British Columbia by now except on a wait list for spinal cord repair. Well done Mr & Miss and enjoy. Respectfully Wayne Eaton.
nick you make me very proud of you and maela to see the work you two are doing for young people , both of you god bless and keep on building . LOVE IT.
Did you have to have surgery on your broken arm? Glad to see you are improving. I don't think y'all will ever run out of projects. Nice to see all the improvements. I still remember when you broke ground. Amazing how far y'all have come. Looking for to seeing the iceland videos. What is the temperatures now?...I'm guessing much cooler because of the jackets sometimes.

Hi Jeff! Happy to see you here :) Yes, Nick had to have surgery for his forearm. There’s so screws in there to hold the bones together, and they’ll stay there for the rest of time. Crazy to think that you’ve been following since the beginning ! Glad to have you with us :) Take care!
I am very happy to see that your hand is better. God is good. I wanted to tell you guys that those loose pieces of insulation that you have stuck in between the logs is extremely dangerous to breathe in. You even have your bed against a wall with it. Please remove the loose Fibre glass insulation from between the logs and use spray foam insulation instead in between the logs.
Hi! Greetings from Finland! It's nice to follow your channel. You are a nice and skillful couple. I have built three detached houses myself. I am a teacher of technical work. That's why I'm especially happy when I look at your work. It's great that you do all the work with hand tools! Fantastic! Your house is amazing! Mika
Hi ! When I was very young (long time ago) my grand father told me very often : try to learn to use your left arme and hand because perhaps you need to use it if something appens.... he was wright and I had training as often as possible. Please follow this advice perhaps you need it no body knows ... Congratulations for your job it's always nice !

Smart grandpa! It’s been an adjustment to do everything with the left hand, but Nick’s getting there :)
You kids are the best building your log home yourselves using hand tools. A word of advice from someone that knows and never regretted it, put you in a drivable road to your cabin. By us doing so it most likely saved a life. Trust us on that one.
You Folks are doing a very good job. I am not sure what your building background is but you are doing very well. I wanted to comment on your installation on the chimney, If and when you have to replace the rubber gasket around the chimney( or reseal it) , place the base square portion in a "Diamond pattern" with the point of one corner pointed to the peak. This allows the water to run away from the seam where it meets the metal. This prevents water standing on the seam and eventually working its way in. The gasket placed in this manner will last a very long time without water getting under the seal. I have used this method several times and one chimney I put in over twenty years ago is still tight and shows very little wear. Again you folks are doing a good job and I commend you on your exclusive use of hand tools, not many today would take on such a challenge., to build a large project.
Very glad to see the arm healing up. Love that you're using cedar in the loft, i grew up on the west coast and it's a scent that brings back a lot of memories.
So sorry you broke your arm! Hope it heals up really quick! Take care tho until it does heal! May you have a great trip! I love watching you both & all the building you two have done together! 👏🏻👏🏻❤️
So glad you're back safe. I love the railing. A removable cast? Lucky you! It's nice to see that it's healing, and even being able to use it some. I look forward to seeing your footage you captured on your trip. Have a great week!
