    I absolutely love the way you do the voice for the GCPR, keeps the video entertaining and makes revision a lot less dull!

    I always found that 'The Ghost of Christmas Present' to be a mirror of the author himself Charles Dickens.
    I also went through my own personal feelings about the subject of what 'A Christmas Carol's story is truly about.

    how do we shorten large quotes like the second one? my teachers says we should use short quotes as they are easier to remember

    • @DystopiaJunkie
      @DystopiaJunkie  3 роки тому +4

      Great question! Whenever I put long quotations in my videos, I tend to discuss multiple aspects about them and say how they might contribute to a bigger picture.
      What you might want to do is focus on only a small and specific part of the quotation I've presented. So for the second one, you might want to talk about how the 'holly wreath' is a classic Christmas image, or how the 'antique scabbard' makes the spirit seem peaceful. In essence, identify the specific part of the quotation you want to discuss, and only quote that bit!

    You're videos on the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future I find informative and interesting. Especially since the ghosts line up with the holy trinity being the son/ Jesus christ, the father/God and the holy spirit/ghost. I looked and watched multiple different tv or movie versions of the novel and some hit home while others are close or nowhere near close but all of them take a different spin on the novel. They run with whatever idea the have for their retelling of a Christmas carol in a different light but the one that looks or rather has the same spirit and emotion as the novel is "The stingiest man in town." This adaptation is really good and even though it's a somewhat older adaptation than say the Jim Carrie Christmas Carol which I believe is newer than the stingiest man in town which it's also a musical but the songs can either be catchy or tug at your heartstrings and believe me on that part most other adaptations don't come near as close to actually making me cry as the stingiest man in town does even if it's just one scene.

    Can you make a video on how to make peaz paragraphs on Christmas Carol

    • @DystopiaJunkie
      @DystopiaJunkie  4 роки тому

      I'll add 'make a video about writing analytical paragraphs' to my very long list! I've never come across the PEAZ acronym before (I'm more familiar with PEARL, PEEL, PEASWA, WHW) - what does it stand for?

    Just a question for you, are these videos making any income or revenue for you. Just curious. Thanks for all the work you do!

    • @DystopiaJunkie
      @DystopiaJunkie  4 роки тому +8

      To be brutally honest, they make very, very little in the way of income from ad revenue. On a really good day (which for me is 150 hours watched and 1500 views), the combined revenue from all of my videos might be £3 or so.
      My best performing video has generated £21 in the 13 months it has been up. Considering each video takes me about 10-12 hours to make (reading, research, notes, making the slides, recording the video, editing it, uploading the video and creating metadata), I'm definitely working at less than minimum wage!!
      Hope that clears that up for you? How come you ask?
