Really surprised Shrek didn't make the list for the background story of The Three Bears. When the magical creatures are being imprisoned, they are all caged up. Later when everyone is at Shrek's, you can see the father and son hugging and crying. Then when it shows Prince Farquad in his room, you can see in the background that the mother was turned into a rug.
I remember that.

I love Jules and I hate being this guy, BUT (via the BBC):
"His stage name is pronounced 'Boh-wee,' to rhyme with doughy or Joey. Anyone who pronounces it "Bow-ee", to rhyme with Howie or Towie, is wrong.
This is true even if you get confused by the name of his son Zowie Bowie (now Duncan Jones), because in that case Zowie is pronounced like the girl's name Zoe, and not the more expressive Zow-ee."
I came straight to the comments after hearing it...
The Irish woman tucking her kids to bed with a comforting bedtime story, knowing they will all drown breaks my heart every time. It reminds me of when I was really little flying on a small passenger plane with my grandmother. There was a storm, with lots of lightning and the turbulence was really bad, everyone was scared and my grandmother held up her hands and said, "Wheeee!!!" making it seem like a fun ride so I wouldn't be scared. When I was older she said she was terrified that we would crash, and considering she used to be a pilot and a flying teacher, that's saying something. While she thought we were all about to die, I just remembered it as a fun adventure.
The best part of Titanic was not Jack and Rose, but the other people on the ship like the Irish mother, and the elderly couple (who were real people who if I am remembering correctly gave up their seat on a lifeboat to save someone else) who laid down next to each other and held each other as the ship went down.
In fairness, they probably froze to death before they would have drowned. Hope that gives you some comfort.
Now for the bit that will really bake your brain. The Irish woman tucking her kids into bed... is Vasquez from _Aliens._

Regarding Dodgeball, him throwing the ball was redundant per the rules. He caught the throw, the thrower is out.

It could be a flub, but it also could be the refs never noticed. That's not cheating, it's an error. Either way, Average Joe's isn't the bad guy there.

Regarding Dodgeball, Average Joe’s lost in the original cut. That was the whole point of Stiller’s rant. Test audiences wanted a happy ending and the studio intervened and gave it to them.

My issue with the original cut where they lose is that the movie would just end abruptly after the loss. Not having a closing epilogue is dumb.

Here's my favorite thing that virtually everyone missed... that Irish mother telling her kids the bedtime story... that's Vasquez from _"Aliens"._ She's also John Connor's foster mother in Terminator 2.

Yeah. I feel like the whole, "Fake Mom from the Darkness that wants to pluck my eyes and sew me up," thing def sells the creepiness a bit more than the undisclosed history of one of it's characters.

For "Burn After Reading" it seems like they use "turn-ons" and turn-offs as playful slang for likes and dislikes to describe yourself, not what you LITERALLY find attractive, because if you look at all the other listed information, this would be odd if that were the case and Bethoven's 5th makes you rock-hard and swing-dancing also giving you a stiffy.
"Dodgeball" is simply a filming mistake. Scene needed to be reshot.

2 Points:
The Nemean Lion being designed after Scar is not that obscure a reference, and it is well known that Disney puts "self-nods" in all their works (See Marvel shows constantly referencing Star Wars after Disney acquired both).
The man in Coraline's name is Bobinsky, not "Pabinski."
That ends my middling knowledge. Otherwise, entertaining vid as always.

Just came across your channel and really appreciated the uplifting message at the end. The doubts come more frequently the older one gets it seems.
Yes, Scar's pelt makes a cameo in Hercules, but not as Scar. He's a representation of the Nemean Lion, the first of the twelve trials Hercules had to undergo to make Hera get off his back for being Zeus' bastard son. But they couldn't show all the labors or the dark tones that came with them in a 90's disney flick, so we just got a fun little throwaway scene.
Seems like that's a good jump up for Scar, really. Conspirator and usurper to lion that was impervious to weapons (now I want to know how he got those scars...) which terrorized the countryside in Greece.
I suspect Scar wouldn’t have looked much like himself once the hyenas were finished with him anyway.

How do we know scar isn't the nemean lion... given lion king has no real time frame its plausible that someone captured scar and made him the lion of legend.
The unnamed "Irish Mother" is Jeanine Goldstein. James Cameron like to use her in his movies; she's "Vasquez" in Aliens and "Janelle" in Terminator 2.
She's like a chameleon; she can play ANY character; I love that actor!

Moments you've missed in this video - the name on number 3 flashcard is written as 'Pabinksi" (sic) at 6:52, his actual name is seen on the envelope at 7:32 and it's 'Bobinsky'.

Actually, the Lion skin in Hercules was two references:
1) the aforementioned Lion King Scar reference.
2) the Nemean lion that Hercules killed in his mythological tales.

In Finding Nemo, the dentist is wearing gloves when he goes into the bathroom and not wearing them when he exits. He probably did his business with them on, then discarded them. Also, he's a cartoon character and literally ceased to exist when he closed the door.
I don't think its too much to expect your dentist to wash their hands as well as wearing gloves... I'd hope that people working around food do too, but I think that might be a little naive.

Fun (or not so fun) fact - Scar's real name is "Taka" which means "Garbage" in Swahili. "Scar" is obviously a nickname that he took after acquiring his signature scar, so that means that Scar's parents literally named him 'trash'. It's no wonder he had a complex.

if you also notice for the finding nemo part he walks into the bathroom with gloves but walks out without them, this probably implies he has the gloves on while peeing and took them off after using the restroom flushing them into the toilet

I'm guessing most of you with criticism about the way he says Bowie are from the US but over here in the UK that's how we pronounce "Bowie" - (as in 'take a bow'-ee. So it's not wrong, as the Whatculture team are mainly, if not all Brits

I noticed the Scar skin in Hercules when I first saw it. I can't say that I was disturbed by it, hell I think Scar was asking for it. I'm not sure most of these things are disturbing, but that's just my opinion. As for the last thing, if you obsess about a character standing outside a circle or triangle, then maybe you need to see a shrink to treat your OCD.

I'm surprised the easy observation of seeing the dentist enter the bathroom with gloved hands and exiting without those gloves was overlooked. Implying he probably discarded the gloves right before exiting the bathroom, further implying no need to wash his hands if everything he touched was with the gloves on right before exiting...
So he had them on while peeing, and after he was done he discarded them would imply that there would be someones saliva on them when he touch himself.

About Hércules' pelt: in The Lion King,(animated, not sure If in The live action too), right after Mufasa and Scar have their argument about Scar missing Simba's presentation, Zazoo jokes to Mufasa that they should turn Scar into a rug, so... There you have It!
Finding Nemo one was not a mistake, the dentist fully claps his hands together a)bringing attention to his hands, and b) indicating that a dusting off is all the dentist believes is required quite specifically in lu of a proper washing.

For the Finding Nemo Bit, 3:50 the dentist can be seen entering the bathroom with his gloves on, when he comes out, gloves are off, so there's a possibility he peed gloves on and just removed them after flushing rather than washing his hands and that's why he immediately comes out, Like if you agree
I like your point, but won't "like" the comment because I don't agree, I would think he would remove his gloves before peeing, assuming he would discard them afterwards, why keep them on? As a dentist he goes through this bodily fluid procedure frequently. As he comes out of the bathroom he slaps his hands together, which to me looks like he has wet hands and is making an instinctive (though largely ineffectual) gesture to dry them, or to indicate to himself that they are somehow clean (like when you have dust on your hands and slap them together without any real proof that they are clean).

Also i am to lazy to listen to the audio on the movie to hear if i might hear running water, apart from the toilet.
If someone makes a mistake and the judge doesn't catch it, that's not actually cheating. It may be an Illegal Move, but it's not cheating.

ok who even as a kid didnt notice the mothers story in Titanic.. Its like one of the major tearjerkers of the movie
There's another part of the story layered into Labyrinth that you don't notice as a kid. When the camera pans over her room in the beginning, we see that her mother is an actress who has been spotted with David Bowie (the actual performer, not the Goblin King), according to an article she has cut out and stuck on her mirror. It isn't a fleshed out relationship, but it would look the way to a kid. Just as almost everything else we see in the fantasy setting is based on stuff in her room, so is the form the Goblin King takes. She doesn't seem to have much of a relationship with her mother, which she takes out on her stepmother. I think she is meant to feel her mother is dating Bowie and connecting to her through a little crush that is reflected in the Goblin King's overtures. However, he doesn't put a lot of effort into it. He seems like he's trying to show her what a bad relationship looks like ("fear me, love me, do as I say and I will be your slave," he's never actually affectionate toward her beyond leading her around like an actor on stage, and is certainly not disappointed in the end when she stands up for herself. He seems grimly pleased.
Can we please get a compilation of his motivational talks?
Me thinks you need to check what Hollywood deeps as 'classic' as opposed to how you throw the word around in your videos. Speaking in Hollywood terms, 'classics' are films that have reached their 40th anniversary, a good example would be Friday the 13th.
