About the water- I couldn’t agree more!! I was doing an interview over zoom and all the talking made me so hoarse. I’m so grateful I had a glass of water next to me!
This video was so helpful! I live in Florida and have been subscribed for a little bit, that's exciting that you're moving here! I start student teaching in January and am super excited. Love your videos!
Hailey!!! It's been forever! Sounds like you're doing super! I have an interview tomorrow and was scrolling through UA-cam to brush up on interview topics and here u are! Glad to see you're doing well! 😄😁🙌🙌🙌
Thank you so much for all this very helpful information!!!! I am currently applying and interviewing and I would like to add on some more information when it comes to using assessment data...I am on the east coast and a lot of school districts like to make sure teachers are holding (at least) monthly data chats individually with each student! Use that assessment binder to show the student how they are doing with each standard and let them know where and how they can improve as well as what they are mastering! Hope this helps :)
This was very helpful! I am starting my student teaching in August & I am already very eager to start preparing for my future job opportunities! Thanks for sharing all of these tips. 😊
Wonderful video. Even though I don't live in the States (I'm a 3rd year teacher in New Zealand), I got lots of helpful tips from you. Thanks heaps and good luck for the move!
Thank you so much this was very helpful as I am going through the interview process. I really think that knowing what you want and where you want to be is the best way to know if the job position is the ideal one. I am struggling to find my place. I accepted a job and it wasn't what they told me it was the total opposite. But thank you for sharing your experience on you interviews the information is very helpful and motivational as well. Thanks.
In Western Pennsylvania there are 4+ rounds to interviewing and it is incredibly intense. 500+ people apply to every job (which is only 1 or 2 positions per school district per year if you’re lucky) and almost always the job goes to an admin’s relative or family friend unfortunately. They even have you teach a demo lesson in front of all admin and school board to a random group of kids you know nothing about. They give you like 12 hours to prepare the lesson if you’re lucky. Often times the admin purposely misbehave to see how you react. You also often have to sit down for an hour during one of the rounds and write an essay. They take your phone during it too so you don’t go on it. Trying to get a job here is absolutely horrendous. I am sooo thankful that after 3 years of long term subbing, getting our Master’s degrees, and multiple extra certifications, my husband and I were both able to land contracted positions this last year.
Watched your video a couple of times. I was hired on the spot. Thanks so much. God Bless!!!
I have an interview for Kindergarten tomorrow and this was really helpful! Thank you.

Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that! I hope your next position works out well for you!
Thanks for the video! When you did your virtual interview, did they ask you to show your portfolio or any letters of recommendation over video?
They did not! They did ask for my references though.

That's crazy! I'm glad you were able to land spots!
Since it's a different state did you have to take Florida teacher exams even though you already certified in your current state?
I didn't! My teaching certificate from WA was reciprocal with FL.
