Great video! Great tips to improve my FreeCAD design workflow. Thanks a lot! At 16:35 you mention that you need to create a sketch in order to extend a face. I've done this before by clicking on the face and then using the Pad tool to just pad that face. Does that work here as well?
Im absolutely loving this series! I more or less design in a way that "feels right". But this series introduce me to great workflows i could use in designing, and the tools available to do them. Especially the new tools coming in the 1.0 release, though, I might switch back to link branch after this!
Great vids! I’d love to see someone build a guitar.. like the Austin Shaner fusion 360 vids .. No one has produced a freecad video on this .. people have tried but tbh as a luthier they all fall short .. A shaners fusion videos are pretty much on point with the mechanics and dimensions of the guitar .. I know about the marz guitar workbench but would love to see someone actually do a freecad build .. cheers and thanks again for the great content.. subbed 👍👍🤙
Thank you! Funny story - in my teens I have tried to build an actual guitar but fell short. Instead built a small replica of Fender Baritone, while trying to adhere to some real life building techniques like gluing two piece head and neck with proper angles.🤟
Just realized that I used the link branch for so long, I thought the defining geometry tool was a regular feature of free cad. When I tried out 1.0, I thought they just got rid of it 😅 Looks like I'll be moving back to rhe link branch for a while longer 😂
Hey, thanks for watching my video! Let me know what you think. Are there any topics you would like me to cover in future videos?

@@JurriaanPruis You are right! It works in Link Branch as well. Guess I was to focused on using defining geometry projection tool :)
A topic that I would be interested in is incorporating text or external (svg) drawings in a design. I always struggle with the Draft workbench 😅
@@JurriaanPruis Taking a note on that 👍
You move at a good pace and you have a good style in your videos. Thanks for producing this.
Glad you liked them!

Thank you very much! Glad you find theses series useful!
Hi, you have great content, and thanks to you, I’ve learned a lot.

You're welcome!
Nice vid again ! Keep going !
Is Ondsel version works like Link Branch ?
Thanks for sharing 👍
Thank you! Ondsel is closely related to FreeCAD 1.0 version. It does include TNP fix from Link branch, just like 1.0 does.

Yesh, hope FreeCAD 1.0 implements it as well. And allows to offset sketch from projected geometry
Is there a list of the additional features in the Link Branch of FreeCAD? Are they documented somewhere?
There are a lot of differences. On FreeCAD forums there is a thread, trying to list differences forum.freecad.org/viewtopic.php?t=60681
Why they didn't include some of the tools/ features from the link branch to 1.0 version?
The explicit goal for 1.0 is to implement topological naming problem fix. Let's hope that in future these tools are implemented.
