I noticed when you showed your volume level your system was only playing in stereo pcm. Not the best output for proper cinema sound. I always prefer Dolby atmos/ 5.1 and am disappointed slightly when stereo pcm comes through
yeah, i was totally new on this system. But i have another video that shows what settings to change for it to get proper dolby atmos sound. I forgot to change my tv settings. I totally agree with you that the sound difference is alot when in stereo or dolby.
At first i was thinking of having the Arc,sub and 2 sonos fives as surrounds but in the end i ended or decided to have another sub,so now i have ARC,2 subs gen 3 and two sonos one sl came from boss acoustimass but the sonos with dual subs really is a great system..

Then you have to record and mix it in 5.1 too. There’s no point. The only thing that works here is reacting to it effectively on camera and explaining it comparatively the best way you can.
Well now that is a performance. i'm also stunned. Bass is too much, way too much, probably the camera is the reason. but this sound is so strong until keeps clean. loved the cello sound at the end of the dolby testvideo.

Hello Dwight, is that 16X13 in feets or? Just want to know since we measure in cm and meter here in sweden :). My livingroom is 460 cm(4.6 meter) in length and 380cm(3.8 meter) wide. So its not a big livingroom. I can honestly say that you wont regret having the Sonos Fives as surround its a totally different sound. You have 100 days return right on Sonos.com, if i where you i would order both the sonos one SL and Sonos fives. Try the difference, but i know you will be amazed by the sonos five and keep them haha. I hope i could help with the answer

I just upgraded from my Nakamichi 7.2.4 to the Arc, two Gen 3 subs, and two rear Fives as surrounds. I had my Nakamichi rear surrounds less than a foot from my couch because I couldn't run the wires attached to the two Nakamichi subs 9-12 feet behind (tile floor). The Nakamichi rear surround next to my ear did overpower the front soundbar sometimes that was 16-18 feet away. I now can move the Five in a more optimal position 9-12 feet back for a more immersive sound for my room. I would stick with the Sonos Ones if you can't move them 5-12 feet away from your optimal listening position for movies. You might end up turning down the Fives if you have them too close and turn the Fives into Sonos Ones.

@@PEREZAGRYZKA I don't thinks so with that kind of separation. I have my Fives around 18 feet (5.5 meters) apart and around 3 feet (1 meter) up on speaker stands. It might depend how far away the Arc is from you also? My Arc sits around 16 feet (4.8 meter) from the same couch with the two Gen 3 Subs on either side of the Arc. The System sound really balanced and immersive from TV programs to Atmos movies. You have the option of adjusting the rear surrounds levels from -15 to +15 to balance out the front Arc with the iPhone app. The only thing that would make me think twice is the brand new Sonos 300 speakers with upward firing speakers that are coming out after March 2023. Those might work just as well as the Fives and provide a little better Atmos sound in the process at a cheaper price.

I love my setup! I have the arc, two ones and a sub. I have fives but use them for my turntable and streaming music. The audio from your video sounded great on my setup … did you run the TRUEPLAY? It sets up your sound based on your room measurements.
I had totally missed the Trueplay on my setup, I did that today and there was a sound difference. Thanks for pointing that out :). Because i only did that with the sonos ones and not with sonos fives. I do have some issues in deciding where i should put the sub gen 3. And in what position :)

Omg what mic are you using? Because the surround demo you were playing was also going through all my speakers as well. I also heard the special affects in my surround rears (Sonos play ones) as well. It blew me away!
Im using the camera mic on my dji pocket 2, but i had the camera set in the middle of the whole system. I think maybe that contributed on the sound getting more clear then the other video I have on the channel. Hahaha thats good hope you are enjoying your Sonos system :D

@@ernied3050 I have 2.5 meters from my tv to my couch. My tv is 77 inch LG OLED. I think its a perfect size for my living room. But i will try the 83 inch OLED next year. 65 inch is a good size no matter how small the apartment is.

What if do the era 300s as surround then the 5s as stereo in front and the arc and 2 subs. Lmaoo. Do you think the 5s will cancel out the arc? Or 2 5s as surround and 2 more as front stereo with 2 subs and the acr lmaooo. I think ima invest more and play around with that 😅😂
hahahaha i actually use that setup. I group my Fives into the setup i use and have the Fives in the front to increase more volume from the front which not everyone is a fan of grouping their speakers but i like it.

Idk what to do. No atmos in the 5s. I have the era 100s think wanna trade a sub in for the 300s i have good bass twoth the one sub. I want the full atmos. Idk if want full atmos or the 5s now haha
Thanks for watching, hahah i feel ya. But if you want full atmos effect then Era 300s are the only speakers that will give you that. I still use my Fives for surround i mix between them and Era 300s. The fives have more bass and more directional sound if you use them as surround speakers.

If you watch my other videos you can see how i have placed the speakers and how it sounds. But yeah you can have the Fives as surround left and right my friend :D

@@poog6256 I agree size is not everything, quality is key. There is a such thing as too big. You begin to miss things in the picture because your eyes can only capture so much. I don't want to have to turn my head to see what's happening on the screen in front me.

Don't test speakers on the UA-cam , it doesn't support Atmos or even 5.1 setup it's just stereo, no matter what the video description says.

Some videos do have 5.1 support now, it's worth checking the settings per video :)

I was left unimpressed with the Sonos Five for the price for whatever reason. The Arc + Sub + SL is what I’m running now.

i bought 2 sonos five speakers but cant play it on windows laptop. can i write the app that you are using to combine speakers . thank you!!!
I dont know how it works for windows laptop. But if you have an android phone you can download the S2 app and use that for your sonos five speakers
The Ray blows the Arc out of the water. The Ray has blockbuster sound and it doesn't even need a sub to explode your eardrums.
