Just9n, the only thing I could find about what you were describing when you said you had a cut where your nail meets the skin is nail separating from the nail bed. I get those too, but I have a fix that you will like, once you’ve tried it. 1. Wash hands thoroughly. 2. Use Hydrogen Peroxide on area. 3. Apply “New Skin” on area. You can buy “New Skin” for a couple of dollars at Walmart or get it for slightly more on Amazon. Looks like a bottle of nail polish (applicator in the lid). Use it for any small cut and immediately relieves any pain. We used it back in the 80s when I served with the 2nd Ranger Battalion. I think they were testing it on us. Works on blisters too. Remove all loose skin and apply New Skin, put on boot, Road March another 20 miles. It will instantly relieve pain and heal within a couple of days. Good luck.
