  • The Volvo C40 is surprisingly different to the XC40

Bobby, I always like your reviews, in part because of the tidbits of information you include that are overlooked by other reviewers. In this one you made a point that the C40 drives differently--in a good way--than the XC40 Recharge. Previously, I'd not heard a single reviewer of the C40 make that observation. (Edit: Hold the phone! I just remembered that Bjørn Nyland made that point also.) I had an XC40 Recharge on order when I got my hands on a C40 for a test-drive. As a result, I changed my order to a C40, in large part because I preferred the C40 driving experience. The C40 just felt like it was bolted together a little tighter, if you know what I mean.
Another thing I like about your reviews are your descriptions of the overall driving experience, as opposed to descriptions of the individual elements that contribute to it (seat comfort, noise levels, etc.) I thought that was lacking in this video and missed it.
One thing you failed to mention is the terrible view provided by the rear-view mirror, a common complaint of the C40 (and of coupes in general). In my experience, when paired with the excellent exterior mirrors, it's good enough, but I wish Volvo had provided a camera-based system. By contrast, when compared with the XC40 Recharge it's often overlooked that the C40's driver has a better view of blind spots, and rear-seat passengers have better views out their windows.
I would agree that the target market for the C40 is young families, but you may be surprised by the number of old people, like myself, who buy it. Many of us can't really justify it, in terms of our needs and the price tag, but we are at an age when we have the means and like to indulge ourselves from time-to-time.
A final observation: it looks like your daughter may need a booster seat so that she can position her seat belt properly.

Agree with you bobby. Especially the maintenance cost of EV will really make it a wonderful everyday car.

First person who said it drives better. I could feel that in two 20 min drives. Strange most reviewer I personally wrote to said XC40 and C40 feels same after driving it for days. Great job. Two are set up differently.
Which has more road noise. I thought xc40 had less noise and more comfort suspension. Not sporty on bends like c40

Road noise could be that of different tyre size and spec? I cant imagine Volvo would go through the trouble to insulate the C40 less given that its an EV, which the lack of drivetrain noise means road noise and wind noise will be even more obvious

RM10000 difference from xc40 recharge, seriously?!
That's good, cuz in sgp the difference between the 2 cars is SGD41000.

I think that's because in Singapore, the XC40 is a single motor (230hp), but the C40 is a dual motor (400hp). Explains the price difference....

Why the car manufacturers not using solar technology on the roof 🤔

Car batteries deteriorate over the time? Just like our phone batteries. Meaning, after 2~3 years later, the car might not having 460km range (for C40) as it were used to.
, even after it is fully charged. What if 5 years later. Discuss?

Most likely he's using Shell Recharge charging station. It cost RM4/min.
If he's only charge to 80% and make more charging stop, price will be lower

This Volvo C40 has a steering wheel vibration very bad when you drive 65 mph, Felt UNSAFE to drive, especially at high speeds.

@@BobbyAngmalaysia This is not the tire issue, I brought my Volvo to a dealership for the vibration issue 5 times, and both the dealer mechanic and manager, as well as a Volvo engineer, have experienced and acknowledged the vibration issue I've been having, I have all the video evidence to prove that. However, despite contacting Volvo about the issue, they have stopped replying to my emails. I will contact local news and file a Lemon law
