- N.O.R.E. & DJ EFN are the Drink Champs. On today’s episode The Champs chop it up with Shawn Pen aka Little Shawn and Gabe The Jeweler. Natives of New York, Shawn & Gabe share classic stories of their come up.
As an artist himself, Shawn has recorded with the legend The Notorious B.I.G. on the song “Dom Perignon“. Known back then as Little Shawn he’s worked closely with Diddy, writing music for Father MC, Jodeci, Mary J Blige, etc.
Gabriel Jacobs better known as Gabe The Jeweler is owner of Rafaello & Co. His family has been in the jewelry business for decades and is responsible for creating some of the finest pieces of jewels for stars like J.Lo, Alicia Keys, and Jay-Z, just to name a few. Gabe has created iconic hip-hop jewelry like the famous Terror Squad “TS” pendant and Hov’s five kilo, 11lbs gold chain.
Not a person who seeks recognition and fame, Shawn has been making moves in the shadows of hip-hop his entire career. An influencer in his own right, Shawn shares classic stories of 2 Pac, Biggie, Jay Z, Busta Rhymes and more.

I need the youth to get this part when Nore said “I’ve never seen you do anything gangster” and he said “you won’t”. That sums it all up right there
1:15:58
That’s gangster💪🏿
Big time facts 💯 👏!!!!!!!!!!
😮💨💪🏾
"I'm not a Gangster, but I am..."
This is by far one of the BEST EPISODES! Little Shawn dropped some gems and great stories. I have got to watch his podcast.
NORE DOESN'T KNOW WHAT FICTION MEANS! 😮😢

🦉🦉🦉🦉🦉🦉🦉🦉🦉🦉🦉🦉🦉🦉🦉
Little Shawn needs to go on Math Hoffa show
He’s lying

Rather see him on VladTV, without the goofiness
I was sleeping on this interview but I'm putting it in my top 5. Thats a cool dude. Glad I watched.
Hands down, the dopest Drink Champs episode.
If you are a hip hop fan, you definitely remember Little Shawn, who came out with some lowkey bangers but many of us not knowing he was that guy when connecting cats!
Hidden gem! This is one of the best episodes ever on Drink Champs
He kept quiet all this 4 decades he deserves
to share it with his fans and peeps mad respect
Came back from Math Hoffa. Little Shawn been consistent 💯
Yup that interview bought me here and shout to math he doesn’t interrupt like nore annoying ass
I was in Ft Dix with Shawn,Emory and klien who he didn't name.
Both have been solid since we met. Never using their connections to get thru the system. Especially Emory. He rarely shaved and knew he was coming home to millions. Salute them both.💪🏾
Born in 90s, I can appreciate all the knowledge these guys unlock for those who were too young to understand it then. Thats why I tune in no matter whos the guest. Real hip hop history.
Shout 2 Lil sean 4 DROPPING SOME REAL 💎 4 THE CULTURE. REAL SOLD BRO
. LAST OF A DIEING 8READ👍🏿🫶🏿.
I wasn’t ready this episode is epic
@Jarrel Ely You always come out with the weirdest, most left field shit man..
The interviews you least expect to be good, turn out to be the BEST!!! This is one of them 💯
He’s 50... looks 15 years younger than Nore 😂
Lol 😆, a little unfair perhaps.
How is this interview only at 256k this is a fvckin GEM 🖤💪🏾
I went to JHS with Shawn in Bushwick, so when I heard about his reputation, I didn’t immediately make the connection, but he was a good dude even back then, with not even a hint that that lifestyle was in his DNA.
He was just the fly kid that used to pop lock…
Nice…
Lil Shawn a low key Brooklyn Legend
East Flatbush + Flatbush big up all the rude boyz from the 80s, 90s and early 2000s
Just looking at the intro makes you realize how far Drink Champs has come 💯💪🏾
This was legendary and much needed for the world to see the energy of a of 80’s 90’s nYc OG.
This was a super dope interview
This dude, lil Sean, his interviews are epic. Brooklyn dues be telling the best stories.
Youngins take notes. Shawn is a great example of how you supposed to move (pause). He is a very likeable guy on camera; well spoken and very articulate, yet he speaks in such a way where you are constantly having to read between the lines. You see how he never wanted to be seen as a gangsta, yet everyone knows? That’s because when you real, people can smell it on you. On camera especially, you are supposed to be a law abiding citizen. There is a time and place for everything.
Who knows? That's just the narrative he's putting out there
@@tonecorleone7592 East Flatbush... Poison Clan. The streets knew. how old are you and where are you from?
💯💯💯
Dude is the real definition of the devil.. he would said I love you and kill youn10 minutes later. Someone to be afraid of..everything about this guy tells you the he's the real deal..
Young guys ain't this smart to portray themselves this way SMH They love being on fucking camera too much and wack ass social media.
This was legendary… I too was NOT ready for this
Edit: NORE YOU’RE A WHOLE FOOL😂😂🤣
“But did you rob him tho” 😂😂😂😂🤣😭😭
“I just need you to say no… for the audience”😭😭😂
The 90z will always the most special decade of hip Hop.. It succeeded the Roots of 1980s .. & the pioneers Are so proud cuz the 90z cats always showed respect & love to where hip hop came from... (Blacks & Puerto Ricans started hip hop in the Bronx) never ever forget this yall
@Kenny Lafortune then what do U call "Crazy legs" Kurius Jorge .. Fat Joe .. Big Pun .. Frankie Cutlass ... Angie Martinez ... An many more that Help this Artform stay alive?
@Kenny Lafortune even Spike Lee has gone on record talkin about Blacks & Puerto Ricans startin Hip Hop
@Kenny Lafortune and your point is? We all know their contirubtions from the beastie boys .. 3rd bass ... House od Pain... Milkbone etc... This is not a race thing... The point i originally made was who started HIP HOP.. (An if u are a hip hop artist or fan) YOU MUST KNOW THE GENESIS ! its like anythin else in life ... If u love something? Then u should know the roots so that u can better understand your place an how u can contribute to add on or make it better
@@staygold9798 we consider Latinos black bro you right they was their
@@jermainehnbhwalls822 thank You ! .. Even Spike Lee has gone on record numerous times talkin about it too about the origins of Hip Hop
This is the best drink champs ever, the only one That I saw twice, and I’ve been a fan of Shawn as an artist but I never knew of his history
NORE is the worse person to be around when he’s drunk. 😭🤦🏻♀️😩
This was the best episode I have seen on this channel. He is one hell of a storyteller. He enlightens others without giving much away. I like how he moves.
Absolutely. Good comment.
for all the history in this interview you'd swear it'd be at 5 million views already
people dont respect history anymore
These casuals dont know about Lil Shawn
Quad robbery (Pac) @1:39:30 What I've pieced 2gether from different interviews from folks that were there:
Pac went to Quad studios w/ Stretch, Frankie Nickels, Zayd to do a record w/ Little Shawn for Jimmy Henchman.
Puffy was there cus he was shooting nearby shots for the video " Warning" & stopped by to check on Biggie Junior Mafia.
Lil Cease peeped them coming to the studio from high above when he was smoking weed w/ a band mate & greeted Pac.
It was only supposed to be a robbery.
Pac fought back, he had TWO guns on him.
When upstairs, Pac did instruct for somebody to call his mother while he rolled up weed.
There are of course variations of what happened that night. But these talking points seem to be legit.
Shawn said after he was shot he said call his mom
@@24craigleigh I just said that .
Pac owed Jimmy Henchman money, he asked him to do a song with Lil Shawn as a form of payback. But because Pac talked shit about Jimmy and disrespected him, Jimmy decided to rob him to teach him a lesson. So he convinced him to come to Quad. Puffy was there because he was spying on Biggie and didn't want him recording with them, Lil Cease himself didn't know that Puffy was in the same building on a different floor. Puffy was with Jimmy Henchman and Andre Harrell. Stretch and one of the other dudes with Pac were armed, but didn't fight back and the robbers didn't target them, they just went after Pac. Also apparently this is where Pac shot himself by accident in the groin trying to take out his two glocks, so it escalated from a simple jux to a serious shooting.
@@krav4421it was never said PAC owed Henchman money, heard Pac disrespected him during the phone call to negotiate the feature price.
@ebabythegreat no, that did happen, but there is underlying stuff that happened previously, 2pac and Haitian Jack fell out, then there was the rape case which Jack was involved with etc. I believe it was meant to be a robbery, but 2pac pulled out two glocks so they were forced to shoot him. And 2pac in the process also ended up shooting himself in the groin by accident.
This was a sleeper episode ✊🏾👌🏾🙏🏾
Squad Holiday yeah this episode was fire on the low
This era in new York we was so us never them the feeling 80s /90s. Was epic and honest

💯
I’m sure he was too 😩
I remember Shawn @ Ft. Dix...he would come to the music room sometimes when we were having cyphers. I was the kid from NC that was smoking them niggas. Mfs couldn't believe I was from the south! Anyway, after finding out from people who he was....I used to always wonder why he would just sit quietly and listen but never join in the sessions. He was like, "I'm just here to do my time*....now I see why... he's always been a standup background type King✊🏽 Don't really want the fame and attention 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾 Real Nigga Shit
Yo, I never thought I would see the day that I will see NORE sitting up here acting like he’s police and I’m not trying to be funny but He’s looking like VLAD right now.
That damn TK Kirkland can put himself anywhere. When he said the barbershop next to a comedy shop. I'm like Whoa!!!
Tk talked about Haitian Jack being next door to a comedy club in a barbershop when he was being heckled by some real ones. Lol
Idk this guy might be the light skin TK lol

@Jamal Vines lol. This nigga!!
I really hate how Nore interrupts people when they talk
First off pac said only lil Shawn came to him everyone was looking at him shocked..
@nauticadon and this guy is lol
Former friend that picked up Pac at the Parker Meridian is Haitian Jack. The other guy that was in jail with Shawn and Emory was probably Calvin Klein.
Lex Diamonds ya right
Exact demondo
Lil Shawn needs his own interview
He’s a big time liar
@@cornellblevins1778 ua-cam.com/video/JtdW6Bu9nAQ/v-deo.html
He has a few. Idk why he kept saying this was his first interview. He did one with Combat Jack (R.I.P.) like 5 years ago and XXL Magazine maybe 9, 10 years ago
AND THIS THE FIRST TIME WATCHING THIS! I KNOW ITS A FEW YEARS AGO BUT ITS GOOD TO CHECK OUT PAST INTERVIEWS!
I'm an hour in and Nore cutting Shawn off way too much.
I literally witnessed him ask Shawn a question, then cut him off b4 he completed his 1st sentence.
Good thing Shawn got most of this stuff out during his Combat Jack interview....The irony is I thought Combat was talking to much, but Nore 100x worse & seems to be fucking up a potentially classic interview
Lil Shawn a real dude! Big ups bro
One of the best interviews in hip hop ever.
I liked how he gave DJ ENF or FNF…..his props 💯💯💯💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿 you can tell he wasn’t expecting that

I just watched Little Shawn " Don Perignon".. BIG did the hook pretty much. That was gangsta rap on a smooth beat. Crazy gun bars.
RESPECT though. The storyline is real.
Peep his song “Check it out Y’all” that beat knocks like crazy. Shawn had joints!
that was a sample from big song "party and bullshit" where big took the chorus from shawn's song "hickey's on your chest"
The hook is from Party and BS

Zayd, tupac brother in law was from Brooklyn too and confirms what Shawn said.
Shawn was relevant more behind the scenes tho.... career neva was the same after doin that bid...No wait, how many times Nore gone make him the quad studio shooter lolhh..."you sure you didnt shoot Pac tho?" "In my mind i feel like you did tho" classic "NORE"

Lil shawn said that Suge created the allegations against Puffy and BIG in terms of who setup 2pac, but that is wrong. 2pac alleged that Puffy and BIG had knowledge of the setup in March of 1995, which was published in April of 1995.
That theory is gone. He made many other false statements.
