As a Canadian, I can't imagine coming here as an immigrant. Young Canadians can't even survive here. The country is in a very dark time. We used to be so much better. Canada has lost its way
This is fascinating because as 🇨🇦 Seniors having lived all our lives here, we find ourselves homeless and struggling to live. Food costs, inflation, high rents etc etc has dwindled decent pensions to substandard. And we have nowhere else to move to!
How can a senior be struggling when they got the golden years of 75k for a house in Toronto, and an iron clad pension for tightening lug nuts in a ford factory? Boomers had it so easy it was practically on a silver platter. Even had on the job training for jobs that now employers want a degree for, that costs thousands in tuition. Except those same jobs can barely get you a studio apartment, nevermind a house.
You are 100% correct. I have lived here for over 40 years. I am planning to leave. This is not a welcoming nation unless you are white and have a western sounding name. I speak from experience.

It is not immigration that is the fault, workers are needed everywhere. The government spending our money and not promoting jobs, building houses, doing what a moral government should be doing was not met. The blame of immigration is scapgoating by either government excuses or hateful people. Take accountabliy and do what is right for canada. As a person living for around twenty years in Canada, the real problem is too much supply of human resources from outside Canada especially from India. This is around 35% and trying to concentrate in certain areas of Canada. This has caused too much burden on Health care, Transportation, housing, and other public services in those areas. Unlike the time I migrated to Canada, all places are now overcrowded. There are not enough job opportunities due to the large influx of students. Thousands of applicants for one job from the day they arrive here. You can get some idea of how many applied on the job site Indeed. This has resulted in companies and job agencies exploiting students by paying low wages and firing them indiscriminately. Therefore, both the Canadian government and the Indian government have a role to play and Students too should be aware of the real situation here.
That means the Canadian administration does not know how to administer their country....why grant visas without assessing the ground reality and the consequences thereof..
2:25 @@rajg4512 Please don't be narrow minded. We all want to live better no question about that. Canada is one of the best countries to settle. However we should preserve that state to future generations migrating from India. Students should consider settling in different provinces to overcome overcrowding. Then there is problem of not enough industries in those areas for jobs Most students want to recover their tuition fees by doing whatever job available. They all try to settle near an industrial area. This problem should be solved by the Canadian government before bringing students from the outside world. Canada is a big country. My advice is to students migrating from India to first select a province which is not over crowded. Stay there for a while and see if you can find a job there. If no other option is available there only move to a busy area.
Visited Canada in Dec, 2022.. fast food chain, security jobs filled with Punjabies 😮 Even cheated by a Punjabi taxi driver in Vancouver (over charging + asking for tips) 😢
Why does this happen is simple to explain. Newcomers to Canada won't leave their customs behind and many will try to fool the Canadian Government into free handouts ect...ect. Canada is not all about oneself as many Newcomers would like it to be. Most Canadians worked dam hard for years to achieve what we have today. We did not beg our Government for handouts or cry because money was sometimes short, no we did not....we worked harder and showed determination. Unlike many Newcomers to Canada.

@@chelsea9493 Everything gets worse in late stage capitalism, and that's where we find ourselves in Canada, and the world. The system is the sickness. Why don't people recognize that? Well, they weren't taught it. The ruling elites never wanted a class of people capable of critical thinking. George Carlin tried to tell us, but many didn't hear him. Well, life is going suck harder for more people if we don't build a better system from the bottom-up to replace capitalism. Now, what are we going to do? Deny the need to change or just keep watching the collapse and ignoring the alternatives?
no that is not the case. with everyone except the peaceful religion obviously. we also are not talking about illegal immigrants, we are now talking about the legal ones. the ones who are skilled, contribute to your economy and resources, pays taxes etc.
North Indians Gujaratis and Punjabis are making Canada unrecognizable. Being Tamil Canadian, I can personally attest to this. I'm hoping for the next election so I can vote Trudeau out since he and Punjabis (Singh) founded the NDP Liberal Coalition. How I miss the old Canada.
As a Canadian I think what region in India they are from is irrelevant. We need to stop all immigration from India, or we will just turn into India 2.0. I couldn't imagine a worse fate for this country. We are only 40 million people. If we let large countries import in mass numbers, they will overwhelm our society and import their own society, rules and social norms. Our leaders are ruining our countries future with this mass migration.
I am a Mexican living in Mexico, I have visited Canada on several occasions and I think it is an excellent place to live. The part I don't understand about this report is: if people are leaving Canada, why is the cost of housing still high? In my opinion, the people who are now leaving Canada realized too late that they cannot afford the standard of living in a country like Canada. The same would have happened if they had emigrated to England, France, the United States or Germany. The phenomenon has more to do with the value of work than with Canada. In the last two decades the value of unskilled work has plummeted, no one can live in a moderately developed country with an unskilled job, to make matters worse, now white collar jobs have also begun to disappear. Society is simply transformed again and the effects of this transformation begin to be noticed first in those countries where life is more expensive.
Personally, I think Canada lacks strong leadership. Has for a long time. No vision what the country is and where it is headed. Right now for instance, they plan to bring in 500K immigrants per year. With a shortage in housing already, things are going to get worse. Immigrants who have foreign experience and education are totally ignored. Why is that? Don't bring immigrants in when you do not have a plan of integration. Toronto has the most educated cab drivers in the world. Racism. My brother got his Cdn degree in Chem Engineering. Could not even get an interview in his field for 3 years. He changed his first name on the resume to a Christian one. Right away got 2 interviews. Disgusted he moved to Singapore. Within 2 weeks he got an engineering job. Two weeks! He returned to Canada after 3 years. With the experience under his belt, he got a job right away. He stayed a few years but did not like it anymore. Did not feel like home. Moved to the U.S. Headhunters call him frequently. Canada and U.S., both western nations, the opportunities are less in Canada. The question is why?
The health care system of Canada is getting worse. Millions of Canadians are at waiting list. If you need to make simple MRI why you have to wait for ,6 months? You forget to mention this point. Don't get me wrong as I love Canada but we can't tolerate the very high taxations & unaffordable housings and a controversial health care system
@@ghassanjneinaty4421 Sorry, my comment is that of a Mexican who does not live in Canada, I do not intend to minimize the concerns of Canadians. My only argument is that the immigrants who have decided to leave Canada due to the high cost of living at the time did not take into account that in Canada, as in the rest of the world, you cannot live with an unskilled job. I am sure that many doctors and engineers that live in Canada, and arrived as immigrants now have a better life than in their countries of origin. The high cost of housing and deficiencies in health services are a global problem, as are pensions. People simply live longer today than they did 40 years ago, adding to that, new medical treatments are more expensive, 50 years ago a doctor only had X-rays at his disposal, now he has MRI. Every improvement in the standard of living comes with a significant increase in the cost of living. Unfortunately, the only way to cover it is with more taxes but for that you require people to have a higher income, but it turns out that with new technologies more can be done with fewer people, which puts downward pressure on salaries. Our society is experiencing a change that has not been seen since the beginning of the industrial revolution, in my opinion it will take decades before the waters calm down.
Oh man, you truly don’t understand whats going on. Simply visiting Canada several times isn’t enough to qualify you to form an opinion. Do your own research and diligence.

The main reason that Canada is bringing in half a million migrants and hundreds of thousands of students is to keep the property prices high. If they slow down intake of migration and international students property prices will crash and with it the Canadian economy. Canada earns billions in migration fees, education fees and of course cheap labor like cleaners, carers, and taxi drives, jobs that canadian-born residents will not do. Most students are financed by their Mum and Dad Bank, lived a sheltered life with maids and drivers but with no skills, so they go overseas, and forced to do menial jobs to survive. Back home the family will be looking for a rich partner.
It’s all by design. Soon the WEF will introduce new policies to enslave the masses even further. Poor people are only needed by wealthy to be exploited. Otherwise poor people are an “environmental concern” in their books. They will not admit it openly but read between the lines…
Just as predicted in late stage capitalism. Profit maximizing for the rich, ruling elite. You think PP and the Cons will change that system dynamics of rich private rule over the capitalist economic system? Haha, not a chance. It's so sad how critical thinking is systematically repressed in the people, by design, and it means people don't know what they don't know and those are really big issues they don't understand, unless they seek out the information themselves. My parents immigrated to Canada 30+ years ago, so I came as a school kid. That's the only reason I can afford to live here today. If I arrived as a new immigrant, I couldn't afford to pay living expenses, forget about buying a house or sending my kids to good universities. Every immigrant friend of mine agrees that there's simply no "upward mobility" left in Canadian society any more, and we worry constantly about our kids generation. Generally Indian immigrants who come to Canada tend to be comfortable if they come from places like Dubai/UAE after saving a million or more dollars. Their savings provide the "cushion" to essentially pay living expenses while they try and find a foothold in this job market over 10-15 years. I've also met Indian tech workers with American H1B visas who immigrated to Canada when their chances of obtaining a US Green Card looked bleak - They also come with lots of savings from the US. But "real Canadian success stories" of average folk who come to Canada with average means and make a much better life for themselves.. You simply don't hear such cases any more, which were common until 30 years ago.
Regardless of all the mud-slinging in the comments, I strongly advise any prospective immigrants to Canada to consider their situation/ aspirations seriously before making the move to Canada. While Canada is indeed a beautiful country, especially from spring to fall, there is no doubt that it has fallen behind severely in recent years. This is a massively underperforming country and people (Canadians and immigrants alike) are struggling big time. There is a massive leadership problem in Canada, where trivial problems get 99% of the attention. Real problems (which are easily solvable by the way) get little to no attention at all. Either there is very little will or the current administration is simply incompetent. Either way, some structural changes need to happen before Canada can recover.
Also, it is not ecofriendly to live in a cold zone by choice (uses more energy) than living in a country that has more sunlight (where energy can be made)/

Don't worry, noone wants to come to Canada anymore. Recent statistics are showing that. There is a decline of more than 50 percent of students going to Canada. So you can relax. But there is no need to bring in a temple or even our PM into the picture. They are no where connected to this.
With the US right next door with millions of jobs available, 20% is really not that much, especially considering the price of housing in Canada now. And why wouldn't they come to the US, which has warmer climates, and where Indian immigrants are doing so well, the richest ethnicity per capita? I run a moving company in Boston with mostly South Asian clients. Almost every week we're moving an Indian family into a $1 million home in a leafy suburb with some of the best public schools in America. The living is as good as anywhere in Canada.

Immigrants who leave Canada do not have good job or income. They are not employed full time or simply underemployed (at minimum wage). Usually, they try for good job in other countries, such as GCC Countries or - come back to India and get involved in family business.
The simple answer for all migrants esp. Indians is "Birth Control" Indians have filled up the landmass in India and millions are leaving legally mostly illegally heading Westwards. Mindboggling to read comments none of which addressed to root cause of migration.
I totally disagree with you. You can just relate to anyone and everyone with just two parameters. I am saying this from my personal experience. I know a successful Registered Chemical Engineer in the Philippines who was forced to immigrate to Canada by his RN spouse. The Filipino Engineer became so depressed as he cannot find a decent job and was just working menial jobs to get by. All his hair is gray due to disappointment of leaving his executive life in the Philippine islands. Now he is old with health issues. Him immigrating to Canada was his worst nightmare decision ever in life. The Filipino Chemical Engineer super high IQ was wasted by going to Canada. Canada is not a paradise as people might think. Be warned
Canada has never been an easy Country for most immigrants of the past 100 years, unless you were a WASP, (White, Anglo Saxon. Protestant). I am a 4th Generation Canadian, where my grandparents and great grandparents arrived from Scandinavia, where they settled in rural Saskatchewan, and Italian and Irish that settled in Vancouver. Try finding a job back then if you were Irish or Italian. It was damn difficult, but they all did, and survived without Government support. My grandfather was born a month after arriving from Italy, 1908. He spoke mainly Italian til he was seven and eventually became fluent in English. He also refused to teach his children Italian, because of the discrimination and the fact his offspring were Canadian, not Italian. They were hard working people who contributed greatly to this Country. They were ordinary people, who never broke a law or expected a hand out. They experienced some racism, WW1, the Depression, WW2 and many other hardships. Unfortunately these days, we have far too many unskilled immigrants, who do not do "the melting pot" ideology Canada expected 65 odd years ago. I am all for multi-culturalism, but do not come to Canada and expect things to be the same or better than where you emigrated from or bring your mother Country's problems here and expect a different result. Canada has often been a cruel existence for many immigrants, from the Chinese who built our railroads, to the Japanese during WW2. Unfortunately, bringing in masses of people without the proper infrastructure, housing and healthcare in place is a recipe for disaster, as we are now seeing. This is a problem that lies squarely at the feet of the Federal Government, no matter what Party is in power. Another problem is the majority of immigrants who seem hell bent on living in the major cities, such as Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Edmonton or Vancouver. Canada is a huge Country, where there are 1000's of small rural Towns who need business minded people for economic growth. They need Doctors, Veterinarians, Accountants, Dentists, Teachers, Nurses. They all need SKILLED and EDUCATED people in these Towns. You can also afford a decent house to raise a family. Bottom line is, if you can't contribute and can't see what opportunities there are in many places other than the big Cities, or you can't handle our often brutal Winters, you probably shouldn't be here anyway. Canada, like so many Western Countries these days is under horrendous stress, but if you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.
I think racism is on the rise in Canada, because communites are seeing masses of Indians overtaking their community and erasing canadian culture and replacing it with their own. India is a third world country, I don't think nice canadian communities are receptive to tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of Indians then coming into that community and speaking their own language, playing their own music, following their own relegion, celebrating their own holidays, dressing like they do back home, playing cricket and soccer etc... and that becoming common place rather than tradidional canadian culture. They want canada to stay Canadian and I'm all for that. Not to mention the housing crisis.
Immigrants are leaving for the same reasons Canadian born are leaving. Immigrants are coming over to find the same conditions in Canada as when they left their country.
Lady, don’t talk about housing crisis. At least Canadian politicians ( irrespective of liberals or democrats) debate on affordable housing in parliaments. Where as Indian politicians don’t have the guts to speak about high cost of living.. Check for cost of living in metropolitan cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad. Indians have to shell crores of money to buy their dream homes, some of which they don’t know if the project or property has any litigations.
This is not entirely true. While the cost of living has increased in major metropolitan cities in India when compared to early 21st century, it is still very much below the cost of living in major cities globally. What you said about the property value holds true only in urban areas and areas which are considered upmarket. Properties are still affordable in the suburban areas which lie within the metropolitan area of a city and not all the properties have litigation issues.
If you go just outside this urban centre you can find affordable, those who live in centre of those urban cities are less than 2% of total people that's why they don't consider as a bigger issue to be discussed and connectivity is being improved continuously to expand the cities.
For all Indians reading this, try UK, Australia or USA. Canada is too difficult to settle in for those 3 reasons: integration, housing and work. Not to mention lousy weather.
Hey.. it’s everywhere in the world now! There’s a silent depression the world over but governments are hush about it and being careful how to word the whole situation
Born and raised in Canada. This place blows. No idea why anyone would ever want to live here. It would be much better if more people left actually, it would make things more affordable.
doesnt make sense to me. All these applies to local citizens too - finding a job, housing, meeting expenses etc. Then why focus on immigrants? Not sure why you attribute these to the 17.5% that exit Canada. I am sure India has more no. of people leaving the country by many folds that number.
Good for Canada if they are leaving.. they should be prepared for much worse conditions in the UK. Having studied, lived and worked in the UK for a decade, I can confirm that life is much worse there. Canada is heaven compared to that. All those who think, they can afford a house in the UK are in for the biggest shock of their lives. A single room to rent in a shared house costs £800-1000 per month and that too in the outskirts of Greater London.
Immigration is ok as long as Canadians get the same treatment to go over to their countries and live and can have the freedom to run for their government, get free housing, jobs, and all kinds of opprtunities. 500,000/year is way to much,Canada has never been known to have 'multitutes of Jobs &housing' so now we are being 'inconvenienced' by all of a sudden being swamped daily by "multitudes" of strangers,no 'bus seats' etc...and didn't we just go through 2 years of "Covid Hell and lockdown because they care so much about our health..who knows what'sicknesses' they are coming into Canada with...don't make sense!!
This is such a hilarious “news segment”. As a Canadian it is very entertaining to watch uneducated Indian news about Canada. Just for reference in my Canadian city we had only 2 days of light snow. If you immigrate to any country without an education you will have to do blue collar jobs. Do your research before moving anywhere. Canada is fantastic for the right person, just like any other country right is for the right person.
Haha. In the US Indians are valued for their real capabilities which is a marked difference in policies. The so-called Canadian experience is another scam from the so-called best country to immigrate in the world. Who wants to immigrate to a frozen wasteland with laws that hold back talent, intelligence and entrepreneurial drives? And Indians are more educated than Canadians just so you know. In fact, most immigrants are more educated and qualified than Canadian born citizens.
It is the job of the Canadian administration to see that the wrong persons do not get visas to migrate to that country.....obviously, they are failing in their duties....

In my 60 years here in Canada I have never seen things this chaotic or confused or angry or bigoted. I am guilty of some of this myself and I am ashamed. I feel frustrated at the lack of opportunity and success that we used to have here in Canada. I have placed the blame on others, instead of on a government that has no direction or sense of how to do anything except raise taxes continually only to waste it, embezzle it, or allow it to be stripped from the country and taken to other countries. Corporations and criminal enterprises complete the triumvirate of evil, and turn us all against one another. I think we need a change in government, a healthy corporate tax rate, many more small businesses( that are not franchises ), and a return to making what is needed and supplying it for a fair and cheap price. No more billionaire money hoarders or corporate fat cats. None of us have benefitted from this system they created.
I was born in Canada.....used to an awsome country,,,rent was low....good health care..no encampments,,, the liberal government treats migrants better than there own civilians

Some negative feedback in Canada, for sure it is true, but can't control if people come and go to Canada, I've immigrated to Canada 20 years ago, and tell you to have a good stable job as a professional from you home country to Canada to find the same spot, involves a lot of work, perseverance and motivation. If they quit that's on them, if they complain on taxes etc, well that's the system. Stay or move out that's it.
Canada is short 5.8 million homes. CMHC and builder's association latest number were around 3 million, but that low number was assuming a population of 38 million people. Canada has almost 41 million people. If Canada can build it's way out of this mess, there are 100s of thousands of construction jobs available. The demand for housing is there, the government just needs to get out of the way. All the municipal, provincial and federal red tape is leaving Canada a quagmire for builders. Canada could be booming with all that demand. But failure of leadership and outright corruption in city halls across the country prevent it.
"There are 100s of thousands of construction jobs available." Maybe jobs; but not workers. Not according to tradespeople. Certainly not enough to meet the (unmet) need.

Same in America.
That means the Canadian administration does not know how to administer their country....why grant visas without assessing the ground reality and the consequences thereof..

The big JUMP in cost of living.... Hong Kongers moved in, yes, she is right!

The main reason that Canada is bringing in half a million migrants and hundreds of thousands of students is to keep the property prices high. If they slow down intake of migration and international students property prices will crash and with it the Canadian economy. You simply don't hear such cases any more, which were common until 30 years ago.
brutal reality
Perfectly explained.
Also, it is not ecofriendly to live in a cold zone by choice (uses more energy) than living in a country that has more sunlight (where energy can be made)/
There actually is not going to be anytime in any country where everyone is a happy. In life there will always be issues to work on, both on government and individual levels.

That's why America is the best decision made.
@@achu10mech41the same logic can be applied to Canada also. Lol
It can @@1921Mathew
For all Indians reading this, try UK, Australia or USA. Canada is too difficult to settle in for those 3 reasons: integration, housing and work. Not to mention lousy weather.
USA is like a worse version of Canada and has way too many migrants
Hey.. it’s everywhere in the world now! There’s a silent depression the world over but governments are hush about it and being careful how to word the whole situation
Same in Europe too, things are similar to Canada!
Please leave Canada 🇨🇦 ... Thank you !!!
It’s still better the your country. I don’t know too many Canadians immigrating to India.
Why would they its a dump
Canadian average age is old, so they need young person to do jobs, Canada not having enough youth.
Because India is too far since you already have US daddy soo close
@@Robin-qu5jm Greedy indians will go anywhere money is 🤑
@@akashantil2522 Because they can not afford to. Plus Canadians do not make babies like rabbits higher IQ people tend to have fewer children.
you all could blames Traudeau's wokeness for this
Born and raised in Canada. This place blows. No idea why anyone would ever want to live here. It would be much better if more people left actually, it would make things more affordable.
I wish more would leave Canada. Help make Canada great again.
If Canada is not that Good then stay in India. Or stay in your country of origin. Immigration to other people's country is NOT a right.
Personally I feel that Canadians are some of the most genuine and generous people.
Canada is receiving way too many economic refugees, immigrants and international students.
doesnt make sense to me. All these applies to local citizens too - finding a job, housing, meeting expenses etc. Then why focus on immigrants? Not sure why you attribute these to the 17.5% that exit Canada. I am sure India has more no. of people leaving the country by many folds that number.
They are leaving India - but to mostly to Europe and SE Asia, UK, US - not Canada anymore
Immigrants refuse to address the fact that an immigrant is either an economic or political refugee.
From Lebanon, i send peace wishes to Canada.
Come and bring more shewarma.
@@user-de1wp2sh3k come to Canada then you will automatically understand.
Well said fella. Well said. They come here and complaining. The city I live didn't get snow until January this year. Got some now of Wich is necessary for water , trees , forests and more. This people come here and they think dollars grow on trees.
Justin Trudeau & his government didn't fall from sky. He & his government was overwhelming elected by Canadian people. This is why sometimes I have serious doubts of democracy & elections. When the voters are driven by emotions, then the outcome will never serve good to the country in the mid to long run.
The Liberals were a minority and most of their seats were in Toronto.Where most of the " New Canadians"live. With the backing of the NDP ,is the only reason they have any power .
Not quite. He has a minority government. Only with the support of the NDP he can stay in power. But you are absolutely right that far too many people voted for him.
Pretty sure Trudeau had illegal support to win his last election.
@Extremaduur that is how our system works. Modi is a criminal who oversees the Gujrat massacre as the chief minister. He was not allowed to visit Canada and the United States of America until he became PM. But Indian keeps voting for him, and his rss dominates party, the bjp.

👍👍👍👏👏👏
I was born in Canada.....used to an awsome country,,,rent was low....good health care..no encampments,,, the liberal government treats migrants better than there own civilians
I went to work when it was -38 C .... sometimes it goes down to -28 every night for weeks and your right taxes are really high, it's really hard to get a head here.
I m a Canadian migrated from India and m very happy.
You're not a Canadian. Go back
Some negative feedback in Canada, for sure it is true, but can't control if people come and go to Canada, I've immigrated to Canada 20 years ago, and tell you to have a good stable job as a professional from you home country to Canada to find the same spot, involves a lot of work, perseverance and motivation. If they quit that's on them, if they complain on taxes etc, well that's the system. Stay or move out that's it.
No matter what, the Canadian will still vote for Trudeau again and again. Thats the problem.
