While people have deservedly commended the Aly actress, JMW deserves a ton of praise here too. After years of being the mean girl out for (Logan) blood, it was nice to see her genuinely caring for someone of the same gender as she without any ulterior motives. They really should've let Aly survive so they could've have a chance to truly become closer or at least so Aly could have lived long enough to have linked up with her other cousin Sally when Spectra was brought back the following year.
I liked Aly.... I bet she was divided about Phoebe... Hope told her about Taylor killing her mother, that's probably a big reason why she's obsessed with her.
The young woman who played Aly nailed that character.She had the looks and mannerism of a touched person.Most people that have mental problems are not usually that evil.
I wouldn't say that Aly is evil. She didn't get help, for her Darla's death, and the way that Maya and Rick treated her, with such hatred, without having to pay, for it, added to it! I really wish that the Hope/Liam/Steffy triangle would have been between Aly/Liam/Hope instead. Would have picked an actress that looked like a young Darla and kept her alive. I wonder why they did this to the Thorne character. Killing his wife and only child.

Am I mistaken or did Darla have lighter hair when Aly first started envisioning her? Did Darla's hair turn darker when Aly got more sinister? All of these rich folks changing their own tires in the middle of the night. Can they not afford Triple A?

I know the history with Taylor accidently hitting Aly's mom, but Steffy was always nice to Aly. It looks like Aly would have gone after Rick and Maya instead of Steffy after the way they treated her when Rick was CEO. Especially Rick.
@@joyr36 this issue was they gave aly some weird indescribable mental Illness so there wasn’t a consistent trigger that caused her to go after people. She literally had an emotional breakthrough when she finally got to confront Taylor, so it didn’t make sense for her to go back to hating steffy. It was just bad writing all around.
Agreed! I always thought that they should have cast an actress that looked like a young Darla have the same personality, but with an edge. I would have made the triangle between Aly/Liam/Hope instead. Ridge and Thorne could fight over which of their daughters was better for Liam.
Why is it that they consider Ally crazy when she acted just like her crazy grandmother old Stephanie. They never really said she needed to be in a nuthouse when she was abusing Brooke.
Stephanie definitely needed help and to Bradley Bell's credit, the backstory about her childhood abuse went a long way in explaining her overprotectiveness regarding her family. Aly certainly would have lasting trauma about her mother's death, but I just can't wrap my head around any child raised I Los Angeles having a stricter morality code than most Mormons I knew growing up. There were so many other better way to tackle this other than the route that led to killing not just Thorne's only child but the last link to Spectra (you know, until Spectra was briefly ressurected for ten minutes less than a year later.)
