You could smooth out that signal with a capacitor and resistor, but it's a cheap part, all motors do that, it won't help and of course you'd violate the warranty on the part. On another note, you repeat everything 3-5 times, every step, every sentence, every time. We can rewind but not fast-forward so there is no downside to saying each thing once, but a steep learning curve made harder hearing everything 3 or 4 or 5 times. Don't get me wrong, you explain things very clearly and well organized so I'll sub for that, but without your testing gear, I can't fix my latch the way you did. I can't afford $300 for that part so I will try to repair it myself. My spur gear chewed through the case. PS: In the Live Data was Rear Lid, Unlocking Switch - not oper. Isn't that the tailgate?
Nice Job!! I have a 2016 Golf Sportwagon that uses the VW emblem to open the trunk. It has a camera that comes out from under the emblem when you put the car in reverse. I found a blown fuse and replaced it. The new fuse lasted about a day (several openings/closings). So now I'm back to square one. Your video was definitely a help. Thanks.
this is amazingly well done. it's almost... too thorough. The suspense is killing me. My '11 Jetta wagon is having this exact issue right now. I'm hoping it's only the $25 trunk latch part hanging me up and not, a $250 trip to the mechanic!
you are a clever bloke well done.i am having tailgate not opening on my touran only now and then when i press child lockopen then it sometimes unlocks weird.
Hi, mate can you confirm that if the problem was at the switches or the board the emergency lever that can be operated from the trunk/boot when kidnapped would work because it is mecchanicle amd has nothing electrical
I can access the white plastic lever but the hatchback still won’t open. It doesn’t want to move towards the passenger side much and I don’t want to force/break it. What now??
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair Hello thanks for the answer but what I found is that I have a short in the connector that goes to the actuator because if I move the cables for some reason the trunk light does not turn on and when the alarm is activated if I move the cables there Activate the alarm so I assume I have a broken cable there but my question you have the part number of that connector or what kind of pins it uses, thanks in advance
After confirming a good ground at the actuator connector, why not just feed 12V+ to the actuator motor to confirm it doesn't work? Would have saved time not checking the other wires.
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair Yes, if the motor then worked after feeding it power, there could still be a wiring problem, but in this case, it wouldn't have worked when fed 12V so you would need a new actuator anyway even if there also was a wiring problem after replacing it. After replacing it you could go on to the wiring problem, but the chances of it having both an actuator and a wiring problem is slim.
Excellent tutorial. Very thorough and the electrical details explained in simple terms for the non mechanically inclined to understand. Bravo!

@antoniogalluccio4213 the problem on this one was the actuator on the trunk!
Thorough diag bro! Good stuff

Good job is that signal a square wave can't tell on that time base. Be blessed.
Eddie Davis thank you, it wasn't a square wave, it was just a single voltage raise, no matter how you adjust the time base...
Thank you so much

very nice tuturial i am have 2008 vw rabbite but mine doesn't make any noise when I want to open it from the door switch or remote control, any ideas?

But what do you do if the plastic latch inside doesn’t release it 😢
@coryrichter3952 There is a small lever there that you can pull to release the trunk
Having same car tried change boot lach still same issue any ideas???
Marius Verpecinskis did you check your fuses and the wiring?

Is there a way to do this with a voltmeter?

What if the trunk open with the key remote but no the tailgate switch inside the car?
