Oaken Review | Failed to Take Root

Oaken is a turn-based tactical roguelike card-battler developed by Laki Studios. While it has deck-building elements, the focus of the game is managing units on hex-tile grid to dispatch waves of enemies. While Oaken has some good ideas, it failed to excel in it's promises, and had many shortcomings that compound to make the game, in my opinion, too simple and disengaging.
