- There have been PLENTY of popular minecraft servers before, like Hypixel and Mineplex. Although many of these servers can't last forever, and eventually get deserted. Let's see how these servers still hold up today.

It’s come to my attention that my claims were wrong about MinecraftOnline. There’s not as much respect when it comes to griefing, but because members didn’t want to get banned lmao. Sorry for the confusion!

You exploring your old Minecraft server made me basically vividly relive the servers I made with my friends. Man those were the days back when I had friends I could see every day. You really take it for granted until it’s gone.
This is truly an amazing video. The message you gave at the end of the video really reminded me of my good old time. I remembered I started to play on public servers in 2016 and made some friends there. All these servers don't exist anymore and I have never met those players again. However, I will always smile when I think of those interesting moments playing on these servers. Thank you for making this video and have a nice day.
Wow, this was very nice! I like how each server you featured gave off different vibes and feels. The first one was empty, forgotten, and abandoned. The second one was a huge nostalgia trip, which was super cool, and the last one looked very wholesome, and I can tell you had fun in it. And the lesson at the end was spot on. the last server was very wholesome, it took me through a memory lane of my own as well. some friendships dont last and they die out as time goes by, but i was one of the lucky people who got to reunite with my old buddies. and coincidentally, they also happened to be friends i made while in quarantine. honestly, quarantine is just THAT time period, it really left a mark on everybody, and i still cant believe that it was 4 YEARS ago. reuniting with my old friends really taught me a lesson to not take everything for granted and cherish every moment. best wishes to you man, hope you can also reconnect with your old friends someday in the future

this was an absolutely beautiful video, and I loved the message you put behind it: a server isn't truly dead if the memories live on through your heart. I'm glad Realm5 was a highlight for you, I'm glad reliving the moments of the server brought back memories for you.
I know that it couldn't ever come back again in the shape it took then,, but having a place to hang out and share creations with one another wouldn't be the worst idea while we get through college...

I love the nostalgic feeling of watching and visiting some old minecraft servers, even private ones, like that one with you and your friends. This actually made wanna look at some of the servers i had with friends, some old minecraft worlds, and make more. Actually, thank you so much for this experience, i really think you deserve more

I have the world download for Hermitcraft 7, but it always feels weird wandering around a server that had over 30 members and hundreds of hours it, but is practically but iscompletely devoid of life when you enter it.
This reminds me of beeing very sad about loosing the server files of an old mc-server hostet for a couple of friends back in 2010 or so. The cool town we build - its sadly gone...
First video I've watched and yk it's December 31st, New Years Eve and I remember Minecraft being such a big part of my life and still is. LOVE that you went back to some great memories !! It's always nice to do that :D

Just wanted to point some stuff put about 4:04, as a former notable and active player of minecraftonline.
- The reason people don't break things isn't out of "respect", it's because the mods are power hungry and will ban you for griefing if you so much as break a torch. That may be a slight exaggeration, but the mods are ruthless, things are "griefed" all the time and rolled back, and players are banned for "griefing" when they didn't. On my first day, I lit up my neighbour's house because mobs spawned in it, and was almost banned for griefing. Some of the grief is actual grief to be fair, but yeah stuff does also get griefed, there is no "respect" in that sense. But there are also a lot of unfair griefing bans. There probably are a lot of players who don't grief out of respect, but also a lot of players who don't grief out of fear for the ruthless consequences.
- Most of what you see actually wasn't built in survival, and/or by hand. Until very recently, minecraftonline had a MASSIVE pay-to-win problem. You could buy creative, and you could buy access to things like worldedit. All you had to do was either buy the rank or be friends with someone who had it, and you could get all the gear you wanted, all the blocks, and unobtainable stuff like bedrock and end portal frames. I had loads of diamonds and rare stuff because I was friends with one. Minecraftonline got blacklisted by mojang for breaking the EULA as a result of this (and also some copyrighting issues with the name I believe), and even then they evaded the blacklist before fixing their crazy p2w issue.
Nothing is as cute and cuddly and inspiring as it seems on that server. The staff are ruthless, people do grief and there are a lot of unfair bans for "griefing", and a lot of the impressive builds were made in creative mode by pay-to-win people or by admins, or with the help of those people.
I liked my time there, it was sweet and innocent and impressive for the same reasons as you pointed out at first, and then over time you learn what the server's really like- and it's none of those things, they just want you to think it is.
I just think they're really toxic people and want the truth out there, sorry

For refrence to everyone here, Alspal is a troll that was generally disliked and was eventually banned of the server. Noone ever had creative mode on the server and most of the gods only funded their niche friend groups with /give alspal was apart of one of these niche friend groups and used their vast spawned in items to ruin the server for others for years. They were banned for spamming mod logs with signs and greif alerts. Countless impressive builds have been made in the around 6 years now since minecraft online became no longer pay to win. You haven't actively played on the server in over 5 years Alspal dont assume its the same as you left it.
I was a troll yes, when I was 16 and very immature. If you can't accept that maybe I grew up then you're more far gone than even I was at the time. I can grow up, admit I acted stupid on a block game years ago, and still see the server for what it is, however.
Even if you couldn't buy creative, admins blatantly used creative mode around the world, and if you can buy /give, godmode and flying then really what is the difference: you've just bought creative at that point. To say otherwise is just splitting hairs.
I was friends with people that spawned me in whatever I asked them for. I'm not acting like I didn't partake in it, of course I did- I don't, and have never denied that- I'm just saying that you can't claim everything was built legit, cause it most definitely wasn't. At that time, "cheating" and getting handouts from people who donated, and spawning in whatever you wanted was just the way the game/server was played. That was just the meta/playstyle. I'm not saying it's a bad thing at all, but the server is clearly not legitimately built, that's just a fact. Not a good thing or a bad thing, just a fact of the matter. The builds can still be impressive in and of themselves, but the facts are that they were not built legit.
I also don't know what relevance my ban has to my original comment. Nothing I said was incorrect even if I was banned. But again, if you are going to bring that up, then this is what I actually have to say about my ban and my turbulent history on the server:
Should I have been banned?
I placed signs not to spam the staff logs, but to send a message via them. Spamming was not an intention. I have no idea if it was spam or not because I couldn't see them. I can't fairly comment on that bit as a result. In any case, if it was spammy, I genuinely think there's cases that can be made for and against my ban- I can see both sides of it, in retrospect. It was a grey area in the rules, there's no real right answer to what should have happened therefore.
But most of all, I think the answer to my ban is: For gods sake let it go. Move on. I was an edgy 16 year old who was banned about 7 years ago now on a block game. 7 years later people still want everyone to know that I am some lowlife scumbag who can never be trusted ever again or something. I am 24 years old. I grew up. I pay bills, I have a career. I certainly do not sit around all day scheming revenge on a server I was banned on when I was a teenager. I have so many better things to do than stew on that, I have my life to live. In short, I moved on- I let it go. You all should too- just let it go, I'm banned, I'm not coming back. It's minecraft- just play minecraft, enjoy the game, stop getting bogged down in all that toxicity. That was where I went wrong when I was there.
I don't even know who you are and you're dragging up things from 7 years ago. Things I have long grown from. The people on there refuse to believe that in 7 years, entering adulthood, etc, a person can change. I'm just trying to live my life. Play minecraft and enjoy it, this toxicity is so old and really not worth it. If you reply I will probably read it but I'm not going to continue talking about it because it just isn't worth talking about any more, and I've said all there is to say.
My best advice is honestly just to move on, stop bring up drama of a 7 year old ban of an edgy teen, and if you're going to play the game then just play the game.

Fantastic video! Your videos always feel authentic and this one is no different. One server that sticks with me was the old Jschlatt twitch sub mc server. It's long gone now, but there was a whole community built around that server and some of my funniest minecraft memories came from it. Keep up the great work!

The very first server I used to play at shut down in 2011, I wish I had a backup of the world, I still know the layout inside and around my house and spawn but I know I will get shocked if I ever get to visit it again. But the server got griefed after a few months once the server got some public exposure.

For the second world I saw pixel art of the logo of the Chinese ministry of land and rural affairs
Was on a server that was kinda small but fun. 20-40 most days. Peak hours 60 plus. Then the owner never joined or updated the plugins. The staff team did what we could to keep it fun. Then when the owner wouldn't update and went to a show for 6 months. A couple of the staff and players made a new server and the whole server base went to it. The owner from the old server saw only 1-3 players on his server then joined the new server on an alt and started to ban or demote any player who went to the new server. He didn't say anything now the server is dead with 1-5 players 2 of them is 1 staff member just asking. It's sad how 1 owner could mess fun up he is a horrible owner if you ever join a server with the owner called ohai or burthopsoilder just quit he will let the server die.
