Wait, did we just see Sara's mom riding in one of the kayaks? We couldn't tell for sure, but if that was her, then I'm certainly impressed. I hope I'm still able to do these kinds of activities when I reach that age.

Didn’t see any dolphins or whales or anything (although I hit a fish while I was swimming 😆). The boat is pretty comfortable and the staff took really good care of us. The guides paddle the kayaks for you and they point out things as you go. The guides are locals from around Phang Nga Bay, the tour company is really good about hiring local fishermen as guides, as well as being environmentally friendly. The water bottles available on board are glass and they collect them to be cleaned and refilled. They also collect the kratongs and bring them back on board so material can be reused or recycled. Another viewer reminded me that after dark you can see bioluminescent algae that gets stirred up by the padding.
@@innersouljourney When doing the safety spiel before lunch they pointed out what was vegetarian and asked everyone to save those dishes for people who needed them. We had a family from India on board who were all vegetarian and it looked like they had enough to eat. We had someone else who doesn’t eat gluten and they made her something off the buffet. Let them know when you book and they’ll make accommodations for you.
We really enjoyed this trip. It’s a bit pricey (about $120 USD per person) but the boat is comfortable and the staff takes really good care of you. We DID get to see the bioluminiscent plankton, I forgot to mention that, I tried getting it on video but didn’t really show up. They would spray water using their kayak paddles and it was really noticeable. You could put your hand in and stir it up as well.

It indeed was. Other than having to go slow on the steep steps to the upper deck of the big boat she handled it like a champ. Not bad for almost 87.
