It all puts Mark Cavendish's 35 Sprint wins into perspective. Girmay & Philipsen have won 3 stages each this year. You need to do that for 12 years to beat Cav's Sprint haul.
Just think of all the Sprint legends that came and went in Cav's time. Greipel won 11. Kittel won 14 How long will Philipsen and Girmay last at the top I wonder?
Seems like a slump in true sprinter talent out there to begin with. Closest might be Milan but he needs to learn to be aero and ride smarter. Ewan turned into a disappointment. Groenewegen is getting old, Fabio doesn't have it anymore, and guys like Wout are second tier classic sprinters. I suppose Philipsen will dominate but oddly he isn't really a true sprinter either so could get destroyed if we ever get someone who not only has power but rides smart, like Cav did.

This has been one of the most boring tour denfrances in living memory, no break away wins, predictable winner and boring stages.. I’ve tuned out..
You do know that this was a breakaway win today - a group of 3 from the earlier break of 37, who rode 40km to the line. Behind the rest of the break splintered into two groups chasing each other all the way.
Maybe try watching the video before commenting.
You don’'t remembers the time when commentators fell asleep because it was so boring .
Plus, on stage 17, Richard Carapaz escaped from a breakaway group and soled over the last two climbs to win.
On stage 9, Anthony Turgis won the gravel stage from a breakaway group.
On stage 2, Kevin Vacquelin broke away on the circuit in Bologna and soled to victory by 36 seconds.
On stage 1, Frank van den Broek and Romain Bardet broke away and did a two-up time trial for 40km, just holding off the chasing pack for Bardet to win.
And that isn't counting the stages where Pogacar and Vingegaard have broken away individually or as a pair to contest the stage finishes.
I'm not sure what you've been watching, but it isn't this year's Tour.
