Hello. Great update. All the juvenile birds are growing up fast. They look very healthy. I'm glad the societies raised one baby successfully. Looking forward to more updates. Take care!

Hello there, I am interested to know what is that blue dot-shaped bit right next to the parrot finch's beak.

@@BackHome0811 Hello, those are florescent or light reflecting nodes on each side of the beak. 2 on each side. It's nature's way to help the parent birds find the chick's mouth in a dark nest. They catch any light and they glow so to speak. As the chick matures into an adult, they shrink and fall off. Not all finch breeds have these. Thanks!

Happy to see that the chicks are all doing so well :D My own birds have finally started nesting. Plum heads, shaft tails and diamond doves are sitting on eggs. My king quails are breeding and laying eggs, making a nest, and then forgetting about it after a while. I think maybe they come from a line that has just been machine incubated for such a long time, those broody instincts are very hidden away. I will let them keep trying. If they fail to eventually raise chicks, they will just live out their lives in the aviary as happy little potatoes :D Some of my gouldians are also building nests and checking out nest boxes now, so I am crossing my fingers. Thanks for keeping us updated :D

i belive that the redbreasted quailchick is a male. usually red feathers mean male no matter what color. in my experience, having breed button quail for around 8 years, the redbreasted usually takes longer to get the adult colors than other mutations also if you look closely there are some blue feathers coming through on the breast of the chick. the very dark throat and head is usually also an indication that it is a male. i have a lot of experience with the different color mutations since i have been breeding button quail for a long time. i currently have around 40 button quail (expecting a lot of naturally hatched babies in the next couple of weeks) and around 18 different color mutations.

Can someone help me out with the blue colored dot which was right next to the parrot finch's beak?

It's the guidelines/dots so the parants can find their beaks even when dark

I have a Nightingale egg which I kept on the equator for 1 month and just 4 days ago the egg cracked a little but still the baby has not come out and it shakes a bit when taken in hand so what should we do.
    Please help me

If the egg is already cracked for 4 days it probably didn't survive. After it cracked it should have hatched in a couple of hours
